      'सुख़न-ए-दिल' एक सफ़र को बयान करने का प्रयास है। यह सफ़र जज़्बातों के कईं दौर, कईं मोड़ से गुज़रा। कितनीं यादें, कितनीं बातेंकल्पनाएँ, कितने ख़्वाब और कितने लोग इस सफ़र से जुड़े हैंइसका तो हिसाब ही नहीं है। बस जो महसूस हुआ, उसे शब्दों में पिरोता गया। इसी कोशिश का अंजाम है ये ग़ज़लें जो आप इस किताब में पाएँगे।

      आज भी इन ग़ज़लों में वही कशिश पाता हूँ जो कईं साल पहले थी। इस बात का संतोष भी होता है कि मैं उन जज़्बातों को शब्दों में ढाल पाया। और यही मेरी प्रेरणा बनी कि जो सुकूँ मुझे इन ग़ज़लों से मिला है, वह मैं आप सब तक पहुँचा सकूँ। अपने जज़्बातों को शब्दों में पढ़ पाने का संतोष एक अलग ही एहसास होता है। मुझे उम्मीद है कि आप भी अपने जीवन के सफ़र के चंद जज़्बातों को इन ग़ज़लों में महसूस कर पाएँगे। और अपनी ज़िंदगी के और क़रीब आएँगे।

      मेरी ग़ज़लों में मैंने 'नदीम' तख़ल्लुस इस्तेमाल किया है जिसका मतलब होता है दोस्त'। जो ग़ज़लों के बारे में कम जानते हैं उनकी जानकारी के लिए यह कहना चाहूँगा कि तख़ल्लुस का प्रयोग
