Let me tell you a story from my childhood.

The bomb exploded while we were in the street kicking around a soccer ball. There was a whole bunch of us kids, maybe twelve in total. We went to the same school, and we lived in the same neighborhood. The loud noise reached us from further down the block and shook the ground beneath my feet. My ears hurt, as if someone had hit them hard. We girls screamed and held each other. But not the boys. They stood close together, pretending they weren't scared, stomping their
