    Hello, my name is Shawn Sylvester. Thank you for taking some of your valuable time to read my book. I have been both a server and trainer in the restaurant industry for over 12 years now. I started my journey in a high volume, turn and burn restaurant. Over the years, I was able to move up to white gloves and silver trays. I have learned a lot over the years and now I would like to pass that onto you.

    When I began waiting tables, I never thought, Yes, I have found my calling. If anything I thought, two months tops. Due to that mindset, I treated my job just like that. I just bumbled around the restaurant with no real thoughts or insight on how to become better. I did not see the point in learning a trade that was nothing more than a passing phase.

    My outlook changed one night after a long shift. I overheard one of my coworkers talking about how much he had made. My ears perked and head turned to see him counting out a stack of bills. He had easily made twice as much as me and didn’t even break a sweat doing it. I did not understand how he could make that much more when we both had similar sections. The next shift I decided to change my thoughts about my job and went to work learning the secrets to the trade.

    In this book, I want to give you a detailed outline of what you can do to not only increase your sales but also, increase your tip average. Let’s face it, the more you can make, the better. If you are going to make the effort to show up to work and take tables, you might as well make the most of it while you are there. I hope that by you reading this book and making some simple changes, you will start making a killing out
