The idea was simple enough for the alien race who took Aneka Jansen from Earth in 2011. Take a human, make her into a perfect tool to observe humanity from the inside, and so determine how best to advance this young race into their future. Unfortunately for them, and her, their plans went awry, and Aneka became the only survivor on a dead ship marooned in deep space. Only by chance was the derelict discovered and Aneka revived to discover that the world she knew is long gone and she must learn to live on a New Earth, in a body which is not her own. Aneka died a thousand years ago, and all that is left of her is a computer emulation of her mind running on a quantum computer inside a body of steel, plastic, and synthetic skin. Is she really still the woman she thinks she is? (Contains adult scenes. Not suitable for younger readers.)

Born in 20th Century England, Aneka Jansen had a life and career working as a security consultant until she was kidnapped by the Xinti and ended up in a wrecked starship, in suspended animation, in deep space for a millennium. Woken up by a team archaeologists, she is about to help them study the Agroa Gar, the ship she slept the centuries away in. But there are others interested in the secrets and technology to be found on the dead Xinti ship. Soon the crew find themselves under attack by an unseen enemy with their destruction in mind. And that is before they are pulled across space by a force everyone thought had died long, long ago.

As Aneka speeds toward Negral to discover the fate of the artificial intelligences who lived there, Ella finds herself in a colder environment, and in trouble. However, a chance discovery on a bio-weapons research site leads her to the location of Old Earth, the place Aneka was kidnapped from over eleven centuries ago. With the chance to finally study the home world of the Human race first hand available, none of the crew of the Garnet Hyde can resist the long trip, far outside the borders of the Lorenti Federation. They have no idea what is waiting for them: a cindered piece of rock, men living in caves... What they find is far from what they expect, and it leads Aneka into a confrontation with someone she never thought she would meet. Contains adult material; not suitable for under 18s.

    The Winter War

The Jenlay, Herosians, and Torem have lived in peace for almost five hundred and thirty years. The Lorenti Federation was founded specifically to stop anything like the Xinti War happening again and, through all that time, a woman named Winter has sat at the top of the Federal Security Agency ensuring that the peace is kept. Long before even the Xinti War, Aneka Jansen was torn from her home on Earth and converted from a flesh-and-blood woman to a robotic version of herself. Then she was trapped in deep space for a thousand years, waking up to find the world she knew was long dead, and her new home was New Earth. Now forces are at work which could tear the Federation apart, and Aneka and Winter are at the centre of their plans. Neither woman is what she seems and now their secrets could mean the end for everyone.

I'm a computer programmer who has been writing fantasy and sci-fi since I was fifteen. The Thaumatology series is, therefore, the culmination of 30 years work! Wow! Never thought of it like that.
