Mythica Mayan
Mythica Mayan writes about January Highlands. The author dedicates all writings to all animals in the world. The author considers animals as brothers and sisters, but the author doesn’t have any pets at home because the author respects all of them!! The author’s own favorite quote is ‘a stupid bird flying in the sky is better than an intelligent frog in a well’! Mythica Mayan writes stories only about the January Highlands (J.H), a fictitious classic town down south in the United States. J.H is an old place of ranchers and cattle raisers, but the region kept to its old habits when people adapted to the new technologies and demands. The architecture of the city is mostly classical, but it is filled with people who are immigrants from all over the world. The diversity in terms of race and culture made J.H a special place because even if English was the official language, you could hear all kinds of languages depending on how mad a wife was or how nervous a man was at the bar after a long day in the cornfields. January Highlands is defined by the unity in diversity and even if the southern merchants got ripped off each summer by the people of the north, they’ll start again and again doing the same thing each year with smiles on their faces as if nothing had happened. This made life easier and happier to live in J.H!

Summary of the First Story ‘Stupid Birds’
Love and tragedy meet under the same roof with ordinary, miraculous, and a spectacular intrigue of thoughts and actions. Stupid Birds is a novel presenting the lives of 4 characters through their joys and adventures in the town of January Highlands (J.H.). J.H. is a classic southern settlement in the United States and it has a mixture of immigrants who came for a better and a fair chance in life. Just imagine how the lives of the people intertwine with the town itself, each one with its own uniqueness. As the characters live out their lives; Robby, Ronnie and David with the special band and Nina, the main feminine figure… there comes a moment when things take a different turn and they get spiced up.
In those crucial moments, when love spurs and things seem to come to the right path, a tragedy occurs and Robby is badly injured by an elephant at the circus where they were working with the band. From that moment on, things take a downwards spiral and the characters transform until Robby’s death a couple of months later. Hearts are broken, tears are spilled and love is consumed in a realistic lesson of life, love and coldblooded judgment.
Chapter 1
A New Beginning
Robby’s death had been a tragedy for everyone and even if Nina and the rest of the crew suffered each in their own way, this didn’t mean that they had to forget all about their lives and live the same way for the rest of their lives. They’ve know each other for a while and after the past events, things just didn’t seem the same no matter how much they tried, there was something missing indeed.
What was missing could not be reacquired however, and even though the Stupid Birds understood this, they still had to face their own dilemmas one day at a time.
As life continued, people continued to gossip for a little while about Robby and Nina and how things up and changed between them…some were blaming her for what she did, for being selfish and having no sense of morality. Some understood her pragmatism because ‘one should love thyself before loving anyone else’. After all, the world is a huge Russian roulette where some win and most lose and the one losing this time was Robby who had the bad luck of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
In J.H.. people were still raising cattle, pigs and dairy. Everyone still had their business going on as usual and everyone was too busy to remember for too long the sad event of the death of one of their neighbors or fellow citizens. After all, Robby was neither the first to die in J.H. nor the last, but he was indeed the first who created a band for animals. He was the soul of the band and people still didn’t care too much about it…he was fading between the dusty pages of history as was his music.
On the other hand, The Stupid Birds wanted to continue their activity through the voice of Ronnie, who was the leader of the band now and the one calling the shots. They decided to find another lead singer. They needed a new lead singer because neither he nor David could sing on the microphone…they were pure instrumentalists and without a singer the band was worth nothing! Even if David didn’t agree at first with this sudden move because he was thinking of Robby’s soul, Ronnie would not hear about it…he was always saying that karma was to
