      "An elephant prince, need I say more."
      This is part 1 of 2 of the The Elephant Shifter Prince.
      HFN ending
      This is a 2 part story, so I recommend reading in order.
      Content Warning: This does have sex, very little, but its there.

      ♥ Story ♥
      This is short and not quite what I have come to expect from Cynthia Mendoza. As elephants are known to have prehensile male parts, I was expecting something interesting. That did not come to pass, as this is your standard shifter tale.

      Kelly is on a romantic holiday, which is a last ditch effort to mend things with her rocker boyfriend. He is a cheater that apparently never got caught red handed and is good at making excuses. A freak accident lands Kelly in the hands of a prince who is taken with her in an instant. Of course! This story ends with a HFN ending, but it does continue in part 2, so you may want to go ahead and get the whole series now so you can easily go on to part 2! All parts are in the Audible Romance Package.

      This was entertaining but feels a bit all over the place. A lot of stay or go conflict with no clear direction or emotion. You feel for Prince Chakrii, but feeling like Kelly deserves him is a bit harder. I am looking forward to part 2 and a better resolution than what is currently being presented.

      Cynthia Mendoza writes a lot of short fiction, that is great when it is just a singular title, but I would recommend looking for the series in a whole collection, which are out there.

    CHAPTER 1

    The morning sunshine streamed through the flimsy white curtains, illuminating the wooden planks of the floor and the lone rocking chair by the window. 25-year-old Kelly Lewis's coffee brown eyes fluttered open. Stretching her hands up over her head, she awoke with a sudden feeling of excitement.

    I'm in Thailand, she recalled with a smile, standing up and walking over to the window of the medium-sized cabin situated on a treetop somewhere in the midst of the Chiang Mai tropical forest. Looking out, she admired the naturally beautiful view of the greeneries that surrounded the small clearing where several treehouses were situated. The sun was radiantly glowing, seemingly inviting her to come out and bask in it.

    Still clad in the oversized button-down polo she had slept in, she hurriedly ran her manicured fingers through her shoulder-length wavy brown hair in an attempt to make it look decent enough. Then she opened the door leading to the overlooking terrace attached to the thick trunks of two towering trees standing side by side, which supported the entire structure of the cabin.

    As she leaned over the wooden railing, she saw one of the jungle treehouse resort's attendants smiling and waving at her. Good morning, Ma'am, the small-sized lady said in a cheerful voice. Would you like us to serve your breakfast there?

    Kelly smiled back and nodded in response. That would be awesome. Thanks!

    The door behind her cracked open again and a tall, well-built man with a rugged appearance and tattooed arms came out to join her. For a while there, she'd almost forgotten that her rock musician boyfriend James had come with her on this trip. Perhaps a part of her brain had wanted to erase this fact even just for a while.

    Hey, baby... he said gruffly, a scowl making his craggy appearance even less attractive. His strong features, long dark hair, and goatee were ideal for his rock band look and he was definitely handsome enough for women who went for that kind of appeal.

    Hi, James, Kelly greeted without any expression. They'd been bickering since they landed in the airport the previous day and it was really getting to her. She was actually wishing she'd gone alone on this vacation. But then everything had already been paid for months ago-—by her! He'd been complaining about having no money since their band had gotten cut off from their regular gig at Paulie's Bar, but he had promised to pay at least half of the expenses in the coming months. Unfortunately, he was still out of work until now.

    He came closer and wrapped his tattooed arms around her not-so-slender waist. He roughly pulled her into him and embraced her curvy body. About a year ago, the gesture would have turned her on. But over the recent months, she had been growing sick and tired of his abusive ways, disrespectful language, and apparent womanizing.

    Why are you up so early? James demanded, his dark brown eyes flashing with ire and suspicion.

    I just got up and wanted to admire the view, Kelly defended herself truthfully. I didn't want to wake you up.

    Yeah? He looked over at the clearing below them and saw no one except the female attendant who had greeted Kelly a while ago. She was carrying a tray of native pots and clay mugs as she made her way up the winding stairs leading to their cabin.

    Kelly's heartbeat slightly quickened, afraid that her boyfriend might find something to really be suspicious about. He could be unreasonably jealous at times. Lately, because their band seemed to not be getting anywhere, he would have angry outbursts every now and then. Sometimes she
