Introduction
It goes against much of what we have been taught. We are supposed to prove we are worthy of a man. We are supposed to audition. This often does get the guy! While we are busy auditioning, we are also establishing ourselves as a hoop-jumper. Who wants to jump through hoops for the entire duration of the relationship? My legs hurt just thinking about it. The other thing we do when we are focused on auditioning is that we do not pay attention to who we are auditioning for.
You meet a guy. He seems great. Only great because he treats you better than the last jerk. You snap into audition mode. While you are busy trying to win him from other women, you are not noticing that he is a lazy dater, momma’s boy, and/or selfish. Then, we win him and spend the rest of our time wondering if he chose us because we worked the hardest and made it so he had to do the least. Not wanting to focus on that, we instead decide that getting married will be the one thing that makes all of these hoops worth it.
Once we get married, nothing changes. He seems to get worse. He does not even know why we are pissed considering the only woman he knows is the super woman who has campaigned her way to getting his last name. Next? Next, we convince ourselves that kids, a new house, or being empty nesters will make it all worth it. Sorry ladies. That road only leads to wrinkles and bitterness.
Instead, what if men would court you? In the process, you assess them, narrow down the pool, and choose the one who you connect with best?
This book was written to help you meet men, gets dates, and feel great about yourself while doing it. It is as simple as that. For some women, meeting men comes as naturally as breathing. For others, it is a chore they have given up on after years of trying. During my dating career, I found it easy to meet men but I watched as friends twisted in the wind, going suitor-less for weeks, sometimes months.
When my friends did meet men, they would wind
