Manifesting Your Dream - John Franks
Introduction
Are you that person who always makes lofty goals, New Year’s resolutions that they can never live up to? Do you always find yourself biting off more than you can chew? It’s about time that you rethink how you are living your life, and see your life change forever. Here are some steps to making your dreams more achievable, so that you don’t have to face disappointments anymore.
Define your Dream
This may sound silly, and you might think to yourself I certainly know what my dreams are, I don’t need to think about them again!
But even then, it is a good idea to clearly define your dream. For this exercise, you’re going to have to sit down with a pen and paper and think of what your dream or goal really is. Write down a short and precise description. It’s important to be specific.
Think, for example, My goal for this year is to lose ten pounds by eating mindfully, getting more exercise, and living an active life.
Or maybe, My dream this year is to become really good at playing the cello, which I will do by practicing it for ten hours every week.
As soon as you know what it is exactly that you want to achieve, it becomes easier to look forward to it. It becomes something visible to work towards, and stops being an abstract or vague idea like ‘losing weight’.
Meditate on your Dream
This probably sounds even vaguer than the first idea. However, there’s a reason for this recommendation. Often, we make plans and start acting like escapists.
