Elliot Wolfenson has been waiting months for his mate to settle enough to finally meet him in person instead of just emailing. He finds himself trying to control his wolf so he doesn’t send his mate running before he gains his trust. Blaine,

Great job. I knew you’d pass the class without a problem. Have you started thinking about your next classes? What are you going to school for anyway?

    Elliot,

I am hoping to become a high school art teacher. I have my schedule for next term set up and submitted. Thankfully this will be my last term since I graduate in June. If I can pass next term then I’ll graduate with a 4.0.

    Blaine,

That’s great. I think our school systems needs more people who are willing to become teachers with the way our society is. You know, I’d love to meet you in person. Why don’t you meet me at Howler’s Café? Say Wednesday evening for dinner at six?

    Elliot

Wait…what? He wants to meet me? Like in person? Oh…My…Goddess… Blaine said to his orange tabby cat, Outkazt, who was curled up on the corner of Blaine’s desk. Outkazt, I don’t know if I want to meet him. I think maybe just talking online is better. It’s safer that way. Don’t look at me like that, seriously, cat, he added, turning off his laptop and walking away from the desk and the now sleeping cat, who had briefly looked up, barely blinking at him before putting his head back down to sleep.

Sitting there two days later staring at his email for the umpteenth time, Blaine still couldn’t get over the fact Elliot wanted to meet him. They had been talking online for the past month but he was still scared. What had started as an online tutoring session for his U.S. History class was quickly turning into something more, but in his experience, all love does is break, hurt, and when you are lucky enough to get away—end.

He glanced down at the email once again. Crap. It’s already after five! Jumping up, he started to rush around the living room trying to make sure he had everything he needed, knowing he was going to be late, but hopefully not too late. First impressions meant everything so the fact his ex was even later than he was, plus the way he treated the wait staff, should have been a sign.

Locking the front door before putting his headphones in, he set the playlist on his phone to The Piano Guys for the walk to the café. As he walked, enjoying the soothing sounds of the piano and cello mix playing, he couldn’t help but notice all the trees had finally started changing colors and fall was in the air. Before too long, he found himself standing in front of Howler’s Café, and he was actually five minutes early for once.

Good evening, sir. How many tonight? the hostess asked as he walked in.

Two please. I am meeting someone here, he answered, taking his earphones off and stopping the music on his phone.

Oh, can I get your name please?

    Blaine Thomas.

Perfect. Your dinner partner is here already. Follow me to your table please.

Wait, he’s here? His heart started racing and his palms started to sweat. Pausing to glance in the mirror on the wall to stare at his reflection, making sure that his short black hair was neat. Blaine couldn’t help but notice the red tint to his cheeks from the walk to the restaurant and how shiny his light brown eyes looked.

Already? Oh. Um, okay great. Thanks. Blaine knew he shouldn’t be nervous but at the same time, he couldn’t stop himself from worrying that Elliot would think he was too short or too skinny.

Following the hostess to the table, he couldn’t help but get even more nervous, so much so, it felt like his heart was going to pound out of his chest. Then the hostess moved and he got his first look at the man he had been emailing with and he felt the world stop. All he could do was stare in utter shock and disbelief, for seated at the table was the most gorgeous man he had ever laid eyes on.

Blaine, I am so glad you made it. Thank you, Nancy, Elliot said, standing and pulling out the chair for Blaine. Please have a seat. His smile could only be
