Stress is defined as your body’s way of responding to any kind of demand on it. It can be caused by both good and bad experiences, which can be further classified into good or bad stress.

Stress is how your body responds to situations that are seen as harmful, whether they are real or perceived.

When you feel threatened there is a chemical reaction that occurs in your body, that is designed to stop you from injuring yourself.

This is called the ‘fight or flight’ response, or the stress response. During a stress response your heart will begin to race, your muscles tighten, your breath quickens, and your blood pressure rises.

Different people handle stress differently. What one-person finds stressful another may not. Some people have better coping mechanisms for handling stress than others do. Not all stress is bad for us. Small
