True Bible Study - Ephesians - Maura K. Hill
Preface
It is my desire to make known God’s Word and Will, so that people will have the opportunity to be saved, come to full knowledge of the truth, and live in accordance with God’s intention. God’s Word was and is and will continue to be Truth. It is the Word of Life.
This book includes information about the following:
Blessings and grace
In Christ
Mystery
Full armor of God
I have studied and continue to study the Greek papyri and texts of the Bible extensively, and it is from these that I make my Word Translation and Study to provide this in-depth study aid.
The words that the only true God spoke are the best words to communicate His thoughts. It is because of mankind’s interference, mistranslations, etc, of what God spoke and/or what was written down, and because mankind has removed himself in his thinking so far away from God’s thoughts and words, that I endeavor to help all of us come-back to the integrity and truth of what God says - His Word - His thoughts - His will.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss or comment on this Word Translation and Study via the Contact link on https://www.TrueBibleStudy.com.
Thanks to God for His love and grace.

Relevant Notes
Unless otherwise stated , all scriptures are quoted from one of the following:
The True Bible Study Word Translation (TBS);
The TBS Word Translation is translated from the Greek Papyri and Texts by Maura K. Hill.
The King James Version (KJV);
The KJV uses italic type to inform the reader that the translators added the word(s) in italic type.
The various resources and reference materials are listed at https://www.truebiblestudy.com/bible-materials.
In the TBS Word Translation and Study:
Words in a parenthesis () and italicized within a scripture verse are words inserted to help our English understanding of those words which are translated from Greek words.
Words in a parenthesis () in the study of the scripture verse are words of explanation regarding the words prior to the parenthesis.
Additional explanatory insertions within a scripture verse are enclosed in square brackets [] and italicized.
Additional explanatory notes in the study of a scripture verse are enclosed in square brackets [] and are usually in relation to the Greek or Hebrew texts.
A slash in the study of a scripture verse, such as: him/her, indicates an alternative word depending on the context.
A dash, such as: go there – to Jerusalem, indicates that a certain word or phrase is particularly important or deserving of extra emphasis.
Hyphenated words, such as: used-to-go, indicates that there is only one corresponding word in the Greek text.
Non-English words are printed with English letters.
I use an initial capital letter for all occurrences of the words Lord
and Master
when referring to either God or the Lord Jesus Christ due to my respect for them, therefore the reader will need to carefully consider the context of each particular usage to understand to whom that usage refers.
Where the word spirit
refers to God, I use an initial capital or upper-case S
- Spirit. But when the word spirit
refers to the gift of holy spirit, etc, I use a small or lower-case s
- spirit.
Underlined text is used for the English word but
when translated from the Greek word alla to show that it implies a strong contrast to that-which has just previously been stated, and/or to strengthen a command.
Underlined text is used for the singular form of the word you
to distinguish it from the plural form of the word you
which is not underlined.
Underlined text is also used for emphasis.
In order to communicate the fullness of the emphasis when the Greek definite article is repeated both with the noun and its adjective - for example: I Corinthians 15:4 the Greek is te hemera te trite, which literally means the day the third
– I translate it as "the day, the third (day)."
Verbs in the imperfect
tense are translated with the words used-to
and then the meaning of the verb.
For example: used-to teach
indicates that the one teaching spent time teaching, his action of teaching continued during a past time that is now finished for some reason, not that it was a quick one-time occurrence. The one teaching taught others taking time to teach, and he may have repeated his teaching at different times and in different ways. This tense is also used to historically describe past events relating what happened.
Verbs in the perfect
tense are translated from Greek with a superscript number 2 immediately following the verb - for example: it was written².
This tense indicates an action done during a past time and which has a present continuing result, meaning it is still the same at the time the verb was spoken or written. Therefore, this example could be translated as: it was written and continues written.
The noun love¹
or the verb to love¹
comes from the Greek word agape which is God’s kind of love.
When the Biblical writers wrote, there were no punctuation marks, no chapter or verse divisions indicated, etc, as we see them today in many of our English Bible translations and versions. Therefore we must read the whole context of each particular passage of Scripture for thought-content to more clearly understand the truth of what has been written.
Also, the original language was not English, and therefore when I may write that the writer said or wrote such and such, please understand that the writer actually spoke and wrote in the original language the equivalent to that-which I state in the English language to the best of my knowledge.
I recommend that while reading this book, you also have your usual Bible and Biblical study materials open, so as to compare verses and gain greater understanding of the truth of God’s Word.

Introduction to Ephesians
The Book of Ephesians is a letter (epistle) which was written by the Apostle Paul to the people being holy and believing in Christ Jesus – the holy-people (Christians) – and it was circulated to many churches throughout Asia.
The city of Ephesus was located in the Roman province of Asia, west Asia Minor (modern Turkey), in the area of Ionia near the Aegean coast; however, the words in/at Ephesus
are not in most of the Greek texts.
This letter is also relevant to all holy-people living today. It gives great emphasis to God’s grace, and to the unfolding of the mystery.
It shows the beauty and depth of God’s glory, of everything that holy-people have in Christ, and how we are to behave ourselves during the everyday living of our lives as we await Christ’s coming to gather us all together with him.
This letter may have been written during Paul’s imprisonment in Caesarea (refer to Acts 23:33 – 27:2) or it may have been written about 62/63 A.D. when Paul was a prisoner in Rome and stayed in his hired-house (refer to Acts 28:16-31).

Ephesians
Chapter 1
¹:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by means of (the) intention of God – to the (people) being holy and believing in Christ Jesus; .2 grace to you and peace from God our Father and (the) Lord Jesus Christ.
.3Blessed (is) the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the (One) having blessed us in every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ .4according as He selected us for-Himself in him before (the) throwing-down of (the) world (for) us to be holy and without-blemish down-before Him in love¹,
.5having marked us out-definitely-beforehand into sonship by means of Jesus Christ into Himself according to the good-consideration of His intention .6into (the) praise of (the) glory of His grace of-which He made us graceful in the (one) having been loved¹,²,
.7in whom we have the full-redemption by means of his blood, the dismissal of the falling-asides, according to the wealth of His grace .8of-which He exceeded into us in all wisdom and thoughtfulness, .9having made-known to us the mystery of His intention according to His good-consideration which He purposed in him
.10into (the) stewardship of the fullness of the times to head-up all-things in the Christ, the-things on the heavens and the-things on the earth in him, .11in whom also we were allotted having been marked-out-definitely-beforehand according to (the) purpose of the (One) in-working all-things according to the deliberate-determination of His intention .12with-a-view-for us to be into (the) praise of His glory, the (people) having hoped-beforehand² in the Christ,
.13in whom also you – having heard the word of the truth, the good-message of your salvation, in which also having believed – were sealed with the spirit of the promise, the holy (spirit) .14which is (the) deposit of our inheritance into full-redemption of the acquisition into (the) praise of His glory.
.15Because-of-this I also – having heard the belief according to you in the Lord Jesus, even the (belief) into all the holy-people – .16do not stop being thankful on behalf of you making remembrance to-myself on my prayers .17in order that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you spirit of wisdom and revelation in His full-knowledge, .18the eyes of the heart having been lightened² with-a-view-for you to have known² what is the hope of His calling, what (is) the wealth of the glory of His inheritance in the holy-people,
.19and what (is) the super-throwing greatness of His ability into us, the (people) believing, according to the in-working of the strongness of His strength, .20which He in-worked in the Christ, having raised him up from dead-people and having caused (him) to-sit-down in His right-side in the heavenlies .21super-above all rulership and authority and ability and lordship and every name being named not only in this age but also in the (age) being about to (come),
.22and He subjected all-things under his feet
; and He gave him (who is) head over all-things to the church .23which is his body (which is) the fullness of the (one) filling (his body with) all-things in all-people.

Chapter 2
²:1 Even you being dead to the falling-asides and to your sins – .2 in which at-some-time you walked according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, of the spirit, the (spirit) now in-working in the sons of the un-persuasion, .3 among whom also we all behaved at-some-time in the intense-yearnings of our flesh, doing the intentions of the flesh and of the mind-processes, and we used-to-be children by nature of wrath as also the remaining-people;
.4but God being wealthy in mercy because-of much love¹ was merciful-towards us, .5even us being dead to the falling-asides – He made-alive-together with the Christ – with grace you are having been saved² – .6and He raised (us) up-together and He caused (us) to-sit-down-together in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus .7in order that He may point-out in the ages, the coming-on (ages), the super-throwing wealth of His grace in benevolence on us in Christ Jesus –
.8for with grace you are having been saved² by means of belief, and this (free-gift is) not from you (but) the free-gift (is from) God, .9not from works in order that someone may not boast –
.10for we are His made-product, having been created in Christ Jesus on good works which God prepared-beforehand in order that we may walk in them. .11On-which-account you must remember that at-some-time you (were) Gentiles in flesh, the (people) being said (as) uncircumcision
by the (group) being said (as) circumcision
(which is) handmade in flesh, .12because you used-to-be without Christ at that time, having been alienated-from² the citizenship of Israel and strangers of the covenants of the promise, not having hope and without-God in the world –
.13but now in Christ Jesus you, the (people) at-some-time being distant, were caused-to-become near in the blood of Christ, .14for he is our peace, the (one) having made both one and having loosened the middle-wall of the fenced-enclosure, the enmity in his flesh, .15having rendered-ineffective the law of the commandments in order that he may create the two in himself into one new man making peace .16and he may fully-reconcile both in one body to God by means of the cross, having killed the enmity in himself;
.17and having come he good-messaged peace to you, the distant-people, and peace to the near-people, .18because by means of him we both have the access in one spirit towards the Father.
.19Consequently you are no-longer strangers and sojourners but you are citizens-together with the holy-people, even God’s household-people, .20having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets – Christ Jesus himself being (the) extreme-corner, .21in whom all (the) building joining-together increases into (the) holy interior-temple in (the) Lord, .22in whom also you are being built-together into (the) dwelling-down-place of God in spirit.

Chapter 3
³:1 For-this-grace I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you, the Gentiles – .2 since indeed you heard the stewardship of the grace of God, the (grace) having been given to me into you, .3 (which is that) according to revelation the mystery was made-known to me, according as I wrote-beforehand in a little-amount .4 towards which reading you are able to mentally-perceive my understanding in the mystery of the Christ,
.5which in different generations was not made-known to the sons of men as now it was revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in spirit,
.6(which is) the Gentiles to be inheritors-together and people-bodied-together and sharers-together of the promise in Christ Jesus by means of the good-message, .7of-which I was caused-to-become a minister according to the free-gift of the grace of God, the (grace) having been given to me according to the in-working of His ability,
.8to me the more-least of all-people this grace was given to good-message to the Gentiles the un-trackable wealth of the Christ .9and to lighten all-people what (is) the stewardship of the mystery, the (mystery) having been hidden-away² from the ages in God, the (One) having created all-things,
.10in order that the much-variegated wisdom of God now may be made-known to the rulerships and to the authorities in the heavenlies by means of the church .11according to (the) purpose of the ages which He made in Christ Jesus our Lord, .12in whom we have the boldness and access in persuasion by means of the belief of him – .13on-which-account I ask (you) for-myself not to despond in my pressures on your behalf, which is your glory –
.14for-this-grace I bend my knees towards the Father, .15from Whom all paternal-lineage in (the) heavens and on earth is named, .16in order that He may give to you according to the wealth of His glory: to be caused-to-be-strong with ability by means of His Spirit into the inside man, .17Christ to dwell-down by means of belief in your hearts having been rooted² and having been founded² in love¹,
.18in order that you may be
