    Preface

It is my desire to make known God’s Word and Will, so that people will have the opportunity to be saved, come to full knowledge of the truth, and live in accordance with God’s intention. God’s Word was and is and will continue to be Truth. It is the Word of Life.

This book includes information about the following:

    o Jesus the man (human-being)

    o Jesus’ birth

    o Jesus’ life

    o Jesus’ death

    o Jesus’ resurrection

I have studied and continue to study the Greek papyri and texts of the Bible extensively, and it is from these that I make my Word Translation and Study to provide this in-depth study aid.

The words that the only true God spoke are the best words to communicate His thoughts. It is because of mankind’s interference, mistranslations, etc, of what God spoke and/or what was written down, and because mankind has removed himself in his thinking so far away from God’s thoughts and words, that I endeavor to help all of us come-back to the integrity and truth of what God says - His Word - His thoughts - His will.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss or comment on this Word Translation and Study via the Contact link on https://www.TrueBibleStudy.com.

Thanks to God for His love and grace.

    Relevant Notes

Unless otherwise stated, all scriptures are quoted from one of the following:

o The True Bible Study Word Translation (TBS) is translated from the Greek Papyri and Texts by Maura K. Hill.

o The King James Version (KJV) uses italic type to inform the reader that the translators added the word(s) in italic type.

The various resources and reference materials are listed at https://www.truebiblestudy.com/bible-materials.

In the TBS Word Translation and Study:

o Words in a parenthesis () and italicized within a scripture verse are words inserted to help our English understanding of those words which are translated from Greek words.

o Words in a parenthesis () in the study of the scripture verse are words of explanation regarding the words prior to the parenthesis.

o Additional explanatory insertions within a scripture verse are enclosed in square brackets [] and italicized.

o Additional explanatory notes in the study of a scripture verse are enclosed in square brackets [] and are usually in relation to the Greek or Hebrew texts.

o A slash in the study of a scripture verse, such as: him/her, indicates an alternative word depending on the context.

o A dash, such as: go there – to Jerusalem, indicates that a certain word or phrase is particularly important or deserving of extra emphasis.

o Hyphenated words, such as: used-to-go, indicates that there is only one corresponding word in the Greek text.

o Non-English words are printed with English letters.

o I use an initial capital letter for all occurrences of the words Lord and Master when referring to either God or the Lord Jesus Christ due to my respect for them, therefore the reader will need to carefully consider the context of each particular usage to understand to whom that usage refers.

o Where the word spirit refers to God, I use an initial capital or upper-case S - Spirit. But when the word spirit refers to the gift of holy spirit, etc, I use a small or lower-case s - spirit.

o Underlined text is used for the English word but when translated from the Greek word alla to show that it implies a strong contrast to that-which has just previously been stated, and/or to strengthen a command.

o Underlined text is used for the singular form of the word you to distinguish it from the plural form of the word you which is not underlined.

o Underlined text is also used for emphasis.

o In order to communicate the fullness of the emphasis when the Greek definite article is repeated both with the noun and its adjective - for example: I Corinthians 15:4 the Greek is te hemera te trite, which literally means the day the third - I translate it as "the day, the third (day)."

o Verbs in the imperfect tense are translated with the words used-to and then the meaning of the verb.

o For example: used-to teach indicates that the one teaching spent time teaching, his action of teaching continued during a past time that is now finished for some reason, not that it was a quick one-time occurrence. The one teaching taught others taking time to teach, and he may have repeated his teaching at different times and in different ways. This tense is also used to historically describe past events relating what happened.

o Verbs in the perfect tense are translated from Greek with a superscript number 2 immediately following the verb - for example: it was written². This tense indicates an action done during a past time and which has a present continuing result, meaning it is still the same at the time the verb was spoken or written. Therefore, this example could be translated as: it was written and continues written.

o The noun love¹ or the verb to love¹ comes from the Greek word agape which is God’s kind of love.

When the Biblical writers wrote, there were no punctuation marks, no chapter or verse divisions indicated, etc, as we see them today in many of our English Bible translations and versions. Therefore we must read the whole context of each particular passage of Scripture for thought-content to more clearly understand the truth of what has been written.

Also, the original language was not English, and therefore when I may write that the writer said or wrote such and such, please understand that the writer actually spoke and wrote in the original language the equivalent to that-which I state in the English language to the best of my knowledge.

I recommend that while reading this book, you also have your usual Bible and Biblical study materials open, so as to compare verses and gain greater understanding of the truth of God’s Word.

    Introduction to Luke

The Book of Luke is one of four books that sets forth the four-fold earthly-life and death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Luke does not contain everything that Jesus said and/or did. It emphasizes the Lord Jesus Christ being God’s man (human-being) and it details his interaction with other people according to God’s will.

Luke had not been one of the twelve men with Jesus during his ministry prior to Jesus’ death. He wrote this book after the resurrection and ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ into heaven and after the out-pouring of holy spirit on the day of Pentecost (refer to Acts chapter 2). He also wrote the Book of the Acts (Practices) of the Apostles which overlaps the end of this Gospel and he is referred to in Colossians 4:14, II Timothy 4:11, and Philemon 1:24.

Luke wrote this book by revelation – he received the information of what to write via his holy spirit-life (not from his intellectual memory).

    Chapter 1

¹:¹Since-indeed many-people took-on-hand to arrange a narrative concerning the matters having been fully-assured² in us, .2according as the onlookers from (the) beginning and having become assistants of the word gave-over to us, .3also it was considered by me having followed-beside² all-things from-the-top to write accurately successively to you, strongest Theophilus, .4in order that you may fully-know the safety concerning whose words you were resounded.

.5There became in the days of Herod king of Judea some priest, Zacharias by-name from (the) daily-service of Abia, and a wife to him from the daughters of Aaron and her name Elizabeth; .6but they used-to-be both righteous-people before God journeying in all the commandments and righteous-actions of the Lord without-blame; .7and there used-to not be children to them as-because Elizabeth used-to-be barren and both used-to-be having advanced² in their days.

.8But it came-to-pass in him serving-as-a-priest in the arrangement of his daily-service before God, .9according to the custom of the priesthood, he obtained to burn-incense having gone into the interior-temple of the Lord; .10and all the multitude of the people used-to-be praying outside in the hour of the incense. .11But an angel of (the) Lord was seen by him having stood² out-from (the) right-sides of the sacrificial-altar of the incense; .12and Zacharias was disturbed having seen and fear fell on him.

    .13But the angel said towards him, "You must not be fearful, Zacharias, for-this-reason-that your supplication was heard, and your wife Elizabeth will give-birth-to a son to you, and you will call his name John; .14and joy will be to you and exultation, and many-people will joy on his genesis, .15for he will be great before the Lord, and wine and alcohol let him never drink, and he will be filled of holy spirit yet from his mother’s womb;

.16and many of the sons of Israel will turn-back on (the) Lord their God, .17and he will go-forth before Him in (the) spirit and ability of Elijah, to turn-back (the) hearts of fathers on children and un-persuaded-people in (the) thoughtfulness of righteous-people, to prepare a people having been fully-prepared² for (the) Lord."

.18And Zacharias said towards the angel, According to what will I know this, for I am an elderly-man and my wife having advanced² in her days? .19And the angel having answered said to him, "I am Gabriel, the (angel) having stood-beside² before God, and I was apostled to utter-forth towards you and to good-message these-things to you; .20and look!, you will be being silent and not being able to utter-forth continuously-until which day these-things may come-to-pass in-the-place of which you did not believe my words, the-ones-which will be fulfilled for their time."

.21And the people used-to-be expecting Zacharias and used-to-marvel in him taking-time in the interior-temple; .22but having come-out he used-to not be-able to utter-forth to them, and they fully-knew that he saw² a sight in the interior-temple, and he used-to-be beckoning to them and he used-to throughly-remain dumb.

.23And it came-to-pass as the days were filled of his official-service he went-away into his house; .24but after these days Elizabeth his wife conceived and used-to-hide herself five months saying .25that, "Thus (the) Lord did² for me in (the) days which He looked-on to take-away my reproach among men."

.26But in the month, the sixth (month), the angel Gabriel was apostled from God into a city of Galilee, Nazareth by-name, .27towards a virgin having been betrothed² to an adult-male, Joseph by-name from (the) house of David, and the name of the virgin (was) Mary. .28And having gone-into (the house) towards her he said, "Joy, having been made-graceful², the Lord (is) with you." .29But the (virgin) was throughly-disturbed on the word and used-to throughly-calculate what-quality this greeting may be.

.30And the angel said to her, "You must not be fearful, Mary, for you found grace with God; .31and look!, you will conceive in (your) womb and you will bring-forth a son and you will call his name Jesus; .32this-one will be great and he will be called: son of (the) Highest, and the Lord God will give to him the throne of David his father, .33and he will reign-as-king on the house of Jacob into the ages, and there will not be completion of his kingdom."

.34And Mary said towards the angel, How will this be since I do not know an adult-male? .35And the angel having answered said to her, "Holy Spirit will come on you and (the) ability of (the) Highest will shadow-on you, on-which-account also the holy-thing being begotten will be called: son of God.

.36And look!, Elizabeth your family-kinswoman also she conceived² a son in her old-age and this is (the) sixth month for her, the (woman) being called: barren, .37because every spoken-matter from God will not be unable. .38And Mary said, Look!, the slave of (the) Lord; may it become to me according to your spoken-matter." And the angel went-away from her. .39But having stood-up Mary in these days journeyed into the mountain-area with earnest-diligence into a city of Judah, .40and she went into the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth.

.41And it came-to-pass as Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary the baby in her womb jumped and Elizabeth was filled of holy spirit, .42and she sounded-up with a great crying-out and said, "Having been blessed² (are) you among women, and having been blessed² (is) the fruit of your womb; .43and from-where (comes) this to me in order that the mother of my Lord may come towards me? - .44for look!, as the sound of your greeting became into my ears the baby in my womb jumped in exultation, .45and happy (is) the (woman) having believed that there will be a completion for the-things having been uttered-forth² to her from (the) Lord."

    .46And Mary said, "My soul expresses-the-greatness-of the Lord, .47and my spirit exulted on God, my Savior, .48because He observed upon the humiliation of His slave; for look!, from-now-on all generations will pronounce me happy .49because the Able-One did great-things to me, and His name is Holy, .50and His mercy into generations and generations (is) to the (people) being fearful (towards) Him;

.51He did a strong-thing in His arm; He scattered-throughout arrogant-people with their mind-process of heart; .52He pulled-down able-people from thrones and heightened humble-people; .53He filled (the people) hungering of good-things and apostled-out (the people) being wealthy empty-people; .54He helped Israel His servant to be caused-to-remember mercy .55according as He uttered-forth towards our fathers, to Abraham and his seed into the age."

.56And Mary remained together with her as three months and she returned into her house.

.57But the time for Elizabeth of her bringing-forth was filled, and she gave-birth-to a son; .58and the dwellers-around and her family-kinsmen heard that (the) Lord expressed-the-greatness-of His mercy with her and they used-to joy-together with her. .59And it came-to-pass in the day, the eighth (day), they came to circumcise the young-child and they used-to-call him on the name of his father Zacharias, .60and having answered his mother said, No, but he will be called John! .61And they said towards her that, There is not-one-person from your family-kindred who is called by this name.

.62But they used-to-beckon to his father the (name) what ever he may intend him to be called, .63and having asked (for) a tablet he wrote saying, John is his name. And all-people marveled.

.64But with-that his mouth was opened and his tongue, and he used-to utter-forth blessing God. .65And fear came-to-pass on all the (people) dwelling-around them and all these spoken-matters used-to-be throughly-uttered-forth in the whole mountain-area of Judea, .66and all the (people) having heard put in their heart saying, Who consequently will this young-child be? - for also (the) hand of (the) Lord used-to-be with him.

.67And Zacharias his father was filled of holy spirit and he prophesied saying, .68"Blessed (is) the Lord God of Israel because He looked-intensely and made redemption for His people, .69and He raised-up a horn of salvation for us in (the) house of David, His child, .70according as He uttered-forth by means of (the) mouth of His holy prophets from (the) age:

.71salvation from our enemies and from (the) hand of all the (people) hating us, .72to do mercy with our fathers and to be caused-to-remember His holy covenant; .73to give to us (the) oath which He swore towards Abraham our father .74to fearlessly render-service to Him, having been rescued from (the) hand of enemies, .75in holiness and righteousness before Him for all our days.

.76But also you, young-child, will be called: a prophet of (the) Highest, for you will journey before (the) Lord to prepare his way: .77to give knowledge of salvation to His people in dismissal of their sins .78because-of (the) inner-parts of mercy of our God in which (the) Rising-one from (the) height will look-intensely-on us; .79to shine-light-upon the (people) sitting-down in darkness and shadow of death; to straighten-along our feet into (the) way of peace."

.80And the young-child used-to-increase, and he used-to-be caused-to-be-strong with spirit, and he used-to-be in the desert-places until (the) day of his upward-pointing-out towards Israel.

    Chapter 2

²:¹But it came-to-pass in those days a decree went-out from Caesar Augustus to register all the inhabited-area; .2this registry first came-to-pass (during) Cyrenius of Syria leading; .3and all-people used-to-journey to register, each-person into the city of himself. .4But Joseph also ascended from Galilee from (the) city of Nazareth into Judea into a city of David - the-one-which is called: Bethlehem, because-of his being from (the) house and paternal-lineage of David - .5to register together with Mary, the (woman) having been betrothed² to him, being pregnant.

.6But it came-to-pass in them being there the days of her to bring-forth were filled .7and she brought-forth her son, the firstborn (son), and she swaddled him and leaned him up in a manger for-this-reason-that there used-to not be a place for them in the lodging-place.

.8And shepherds used-to-be in the country, the same (country), being-outdoors and keeping-watch (regarding) prisons of the night on their flock. .9And an angel of (the) Lord stood-on them and (the) glory of (the) Lord shone-around them and they were caused-to-fear a great fear; .10and the angel said to them, "You must not be fearful, for look!, I good-message to you great joy, the-one-which will be to all the people, .11because (the) savior was brought-forth to you today who is Christ (the) Lord in a city of David; .12and this sign to you: you will find a baby having been swaddled² and lying in a manger."

.13And suddenly a multitude of heavenly army became together with the angel speaking-in-praise-of God and saying, .14Glory to God in highest-places and peace on earth among men of good-consideration. .15And it came-to-pass as the angels went-away from them into the heaven, the shepherds used-to utter-forth towards one-another, "Indeed let us go-through until Bethlehem and let us see this spoken-matter, the (spoken-matter) having come-to-pass² which the Lord made-known to us."

.16And they went having hastened and they found both Mary and Joseph and the baby lying in the manger. .17But having seen they made-known concerning the spoken-matter, the (spoken-matter) having been uttered-forth to them concerning this young-child. .18And all the (people) having heard marveled concerning the-things having been uttered-forth by the shepherds towards them; .19but Mary used-to-keep-together all these spoken-matters throwing (them) together in her heart. .20And the shepherds returned glorifying and speaking-in-praise-of God on all-things which they heard and saw according as it was uttered-forth towards them.

.21And when eight days were filled to circumcise him also his name was called Jesus, the (name) having been called by the angel before his being conceived in the womb. .22And when the days of their cleaning according to the law of Moses were filled they led him up into Jerusalem to present (him) to the Lord - .23according as it was written² in (the) Lord’s law that, Every male throughly-opening a womb will be called: holy to the Lord - .24and to give a sacrifice according to the-thing having been said² in the Lord’s law, A pair of turtledoves or two young-ones of doves.

.25And look!, a man used-to-be in Jerusalem, Simeon by-name, and this righteous and devout man waiting-for (the) encouragement of Israel, and holy spirit used-to-be on him, .26and he used-to-be having been instructed-with-business² by the spirit, the holy (spirit), not to see death before ever he may see the Christ of (the) Lord.

.27And he came in the spirit into the temple; and in the parents leading the young-child Jesus into (it) of them doing according to the-thing having been customized² of the law concerning him, .28also he accepted him into the arms and blessed God and said, .29"Now You loosen Your slave, Master, according to Your spoken-matter in peace .30because my eyes saw Your salvation, .31which You prepared according to (the) face of all the peoples: .32light into revelation of Gentiles and glory of Your people Israel."

.33And his father and mother used-to-be marveling on the-things being uttered-forth concerning him; .34and Simeon blessed them and said towards Mary his mother, "Look!, this-one is laid into (the) fall and resurrection of many-people in Israel and into (the) sign being contradicted - .35and a sword will go-through the soul of you yourself - so-that ever (the) through-calculations may be revealed from many hearts."

.36And there used-to-be Anna a prophetess, a daughter of Phanuel from (the) tribe of Asher; she - having advanced in many days, having lived with (her) husband seven years from her virginity, .37and she (was) a widow until eighty four years who used-to not depart-from the temple rendering-service with fastings and supplications night and day, .38and with the same hour having stood-on - used-to expressly-agree-in-response with God and used-to utter-forth concerning him to all the (people) waiting-for (the) redemption of Jerusalem.

.39And as they completed all the-things according to the law of (the) Lord they turned-back into Galilee into (the) city of themselves: Nazareth. .40But the young-child used-to-increase, and he used-to-be caused-to-be-strong being filled of wisdom, and (the) grace of God used-to-be on him.

.41And his parents used-to-journey yearly into Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover; .42and when he became twelve years (during) their ascending according to the custom of the feast, .43and having made-complete the days, in them returning the child Jesus patiently-endured in Jerusalem and his parents did not know, .44but having regarded-as-customary (for) him to be in the way-together they went (the) way of a day and used-to-be seeking him up among the family-kinsmen and the known-people, .45and not having found (him) they returned into Jerusalem seeking him up.

.46And it came-to-pass after three days they found him in the temple sitting-down in (the) midst of the teachers and hearing them and asking them; .47but all the (people) hearing him used-to-be bewildered on his understanding and answers.

.48And having seen him they were shocked and his mother said towards him, Child, why did you thus to us? Look!, your father and I feeling-pain used-to-be seeking-after you. .49And he said towards them, "Why (is it) that you used-to seek-after me? You had known that it is necessary (for) me to be in the-things of my Father, didn’t you?" - (yes.) .50And they did not understand the spoken-matter which he uttered-forth to them.

.51And he descended with them and went into Nazareth; and he used-to-be subjecting-himself to them; and his mother used-to throughly-keep all the spoken-matters in her heart; .52and Jesus used-to advance in wisdom and stature and grace with God and men.

    Chapter 3

³:¹But in (the) fifteenth year of the leadership of Tiberius Caesar, (during) Pontus Pilate leading Judea, and Herod being-a-tetrarch of Galilee, but Philip his brother being-a-tetrarch of Ituraea and of (the) country of Trachonitis, and Lysanias being-a-tetrarch of Abilene, .2on (the time of) Annas and Caiaphas chief-priests - a spoken-matter of God became on John the son of Zacharias in the desert-place .3and he went into all the country-around of the Jordan heralding-forth (the) baptism of repentance into dismissal of sins,

.4as it was written² in (the) book of words of Isaiah the prophet, "A sound crying-aloud in the desert-place, you must prepare the way of (the) Lord, you must make his paths straight. .5Every valley will be filled and every mountain and every mound will be humbled, and the crooked-ways will be into (the) straight-way and the rough-ways into flat ways, .6and all flesh will see the salvation of God."

.7Therefore he used-to-say to the crowds journeying-out to be baptized by him, "Offsprings of vipers, someone pointed-out to you to flee from the wrath being about to (come), .8therefore you must make worthy fruits of the repentance, and let you not begin to say in yourselves ‘We have a father - Abraham,’ for I say to you that God is able to raise-up children to Abraham from these stones; .9but also the axe already is laid towards the root of the trees, therefore every tree not making beautiful fruit is cut-off and is thrown into fire. .10And the crowds used-to-ask him saying, Therefore what should we do?"

.11But having answered he used-to-say to them, "The (person) having two inner-garments must sharingly-give to the (person) not having, and the (person) having foods must do likewise. .12But tax-collectors also came to be baptized and they said towards him, Teacher, what should we do?" .13But the (person) said towards them, You must practice nothing more beside the-thing having been throughly-arranged² for you. .14But (people) serving-as-soldiers also used-to-ask him saying, And what should we do? And he said to them, Let you throughly-shake not-one-person, neither deal-fancily, and you must be sufficient with your rations.

.15But (during) the people’s expecting and all-people throughly-calculating in their hearts concerning John lest-perhaps he may be the Christ, .16John answered saying to all-people, "I indeed baptize you in water, but the (one) stronger-than me comes, of whom I am not sufficient to loosen the thong of his sandals, he will baptize you in holy spirit and fire, .17whose winnowing-fan (is) in his hand to throughly-clean his threshing-floor, and to gather-together the wheat into his granary but the chaff he will burn-down with unquenchable fire."

.18Therefore indeed also he used-to good-message many different-things encouraging the people. .19But Herod the tetrarch, being refuted by him concerning Herodias the wife of his brother and concerning all evil-things which Herod did, .20also added this on all-things: to shut-down John in prison.

.21But it came-to-pass - in all the people being baptized and (after) Jesus having been baptized and praying - the heaven to be opened .22and the spirit, the holy (spirit) to descend with a bodily seen-thing as a dove on him and a sound to become from heaven, "You are My son, the loved¹ (son), in you I consider-it-good."

.23And Jesus himself used-to-be beginning as-though thirty years being a son as it used-to-be regarded-as-customary of Joseph, of Heli, .24of Matthat, of Levi, of Melchi, of Jannai, of Joseph, .25of Mattathias, of Amos, of Naum, of Esli, of Naggai, .26of Maath, of Mattathias, of Semein, of Josech, of Joda, .27of Joanan, of Rhesa, of Zorobabel, of Salathiel, of Neri, .28of Melchi, of Addi, of Cosam, of Elmadam, of Er, .29of Jesus, of Eliezer, of Jorim, of Matthat, of Levi, .30of Simeon, of Judah, of Joseph, of Jonam, of Eliakim, .31of Melea, of Menna, of Mattatha, of Nathan, of David,

.32of Jesse, of Obed, of Boos, of Sala, of Naasson, .33of Aminadab, of Admin, of Arni, of Esrom, of Phares, of Judah, .34of Jacob, of Isaac, of Abraham, of Thara, of Nachor, .35of Seruch, of Ragau, of Phalec, of Heber, of Sala, .36of Cainan, of Arphaxad, of Sem, of Noah, of Lamech, .37of Mathusala, of Enoch, of Jared, of Maleleel, of Cainan, .38of Enos, of Seth, of Adam, of God.

    Chapter 4

⁴:¹But Jesus full of holy spirit returned from the Jordan and used-to-be-led in the spirit in the desert-place .2forty days being tempted by the devil and he did not eat not-one-thing in these days and (after) their being completed-together he hungered. .3But the devil said to him, "If you are son of God you must say (words) to this stone in order that it may become bread. .4And Jesus answered towards him, It was written² that ‘The man will not live on only bread’."

.5And having led him up he pointed-out to him all the kingdoms of the inhabited-area in a moment of time, .6and the devil said to him, To you I will give all this authority and their glory because to me it was given-over² and to whom if-ever I may intend I give it - .7therefore if-ever you may worship before me all will be yours. .8And Jesus having answered said to him, "It was written², ‘You will worship (the) Lord your God and you will render-service only to Him’."

.9But he led him into Jerusalem and caused (him) to-stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and he said to him, "If you are son of God you must throw yourself from-here below .10for it was written² that ‘He will command His angels concerning you to keep-watch (regarding) you’ .11and that ‘They will lift you on (their) hands lest-perhaps you may stumble your foot against a stone’. .12And Jesus having answered said to him that, It was said², ‘You will not tempt-out (the) Lord your God’." .13And having completed-together all temptation the devil departed from him continuously-until a time.

.14And Jesus returned in the ability of the spirit into Galilee; and a report went-out down to the whole country-around concerning him; .15and he used-to-teach in their synagogues being glorified by all-people.

    .16And he went into Nazareth, where he used-to-be having been nourished², and he went according to the-thing having been accustomed² with him in the day of the sabbaths into the synagogue, and he stood-up to read;

.17and a little-book of the Prophet Isaiah was given-upon him, and having folded-up the little-book he found the place where it used-to-be having been written², .18"(The) spirit of (the) Lord (is) on me, by-reason-of which He anointed me to good-message to poor-people, He apostled² me to herald-forth dismissal to captive-people and observation-upwardly to blind-people, to apostle in dismissal (the people) having been broken-down², .19to herald-forth an acceptable year of (the) Lord."

.20And having folded the little-book, having given-away to the assistant he sat-down; and the eyes of all-people in the synagogue used-to-be gazing-intently-on him; .21but he began to say towards them that, Today this writing was fulfilled² in your ears. .22And all-people used-to-bear him witness and they used-to-marvel on the words of the grace, the (words) journeying-out from his mouth, and they used-to-say, This-person is a son of Joseph, isn’t he?

    .23And he said towards them, Altogether you will say to me this parable, ‘Healer, you must attend-to yourself! As-many-things-as we heard having come-to-pass into Capernaum you must do also here in your fatherland’. .24But he said, "With-certainty I say to you that not-one prophet is acceptable in his fatherland;

.25but on truth I say to you, there used-to-be many widows in the days of Elijah in Israel when the heaven was shut on three years and six months as a great famine came-to-pass on all the earth, .26and towards not-one of them was Elijah sent except into Sarepta of Sidon towards a widow woman; .27and there used-to-be many lepers in Israel on Elisha the prophet, and not-one of them was cleaned except Naiman the Syrian."

.28And all-people in the synagogue were filled of wrath hearing these-things, .29and having stood-up they threw him out outside the city and they led him until a brow of the mountain on which their city had been built so-as to push him down-a-cliff. .30But he having gone through (the) midst of them used-to-journey.

.31And he came-down into Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and he used-to-be teaching them in the sabbaths; .32and they used-to-be shocked on his teaching because his word used-to-be in authority. .33And in the synagogue there used-to-be a man having a spirit of an unclean devil and it shouted-up with a great sound, .34"Hea!, what (is there) with us and with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Did you come to destroy us? I knew² you who you are - the holy-one of God!"

.35And Jesus censured it saying, You must be muzzled and go-out from him. And the devil having tossed him into the midst went-out from him having harmed him nothing. .36And there became a marvel on all-people and they used-to utter-forth-together towards one-another saying, "What word (is) this because in authority and ability he arranges-upon the unclean spirits and they go-out?" .37And a sound used-to journey-out concerning him into every place of the country-around.

.38But having stood-up he went from the synagogue into the house of Simon; but (the) mother-in-law of Simon used-to-be being held-together with a great fever and they asked him concerning her; .39and having stood upon her he censured the fever and it left her, but with-that having stood-up she used-to minister to them.

.40But (during the) sinking of the sun all-people-together as-many-as used-to-have (people) being weak with variegated diseases led them towards him, and the (one) putting the hands on each one of them used-to attend-to them; .41but also devils used-to come-out from many-people, shouting and saying that, You are the son of God - and censuring he used-to not let them to utter-forth because they had known him to be the Christ.

.42But (after) day having come-to-pass, having gone-out he journeyed into a deserted place, also the crowds used-to earnestly-seek-after him and they went until him and used-to hold him down not to journey from them; .43but the (one) said towards them that, "Also it is necessary (for) me to good-message the kingdom of God in different cities because on this I was apostled." .44And he used-to-be heralding-forth into the synagogues of Galilee.

    Chapter 5

⁵:¹But it came-to-pass in the crowd being-laid on him and hearing the word of God, also he used-to-be having stood² beside the lake of Gennesaret; .2and he saw two ships having stood² beside the lake but the fishermen having gone-away from them used-to-wash the nets, .3but having embarked into one of the ships which used-to-be of Simon he asked him to lead-back a little (distance) from the earth, and having sat-down he used-to-teach the crowds from the ship.

.4But as he stopped uttering-forth he said towards Simon, You must lead-back into the depth and let-go your nets into a leading. .5And Simon having answered said, Captain, through a whole night having labored we took nothing, but on your spoken-matter I will let-go the nets.

.6And having done this they shut-together a big multitude of fishes, but their nets used-to be-throughly-torn, .7and they beckoned the sharers in the different ship to take-together with them having come, and they came, and they filled both ships so-as-for them to be caused-to-sink-deep.

.8But having seen, Simon Peter fell-towards the knees of Jesus saying, You must go-out from me because I am a sinful adult-male, Lord - .9for a marvel contained him and all the (people) together with him on the leading of the fishes which they took-together; .10but likewise also James and John, sons of Zebedee, the (people who) used-to-be sharers-in-common with Simon. And Jesus said towards Simon, You must not be fearful; from-now-on you will be catching men alive.

.11And having led the ships down on the earth, having left all-things they followed him. .12And it came-to-pass in him being in one of the cities, also look!, an adult-male full of leprosy, but having seen Jesus, having fallen on (his) face, he supplicated him saying, Lord, if-ever you may intend you are able to clean me. .13And having stretched-out (his) hand he touched him saying, I intend - you must be cleaned, and immediately the leprosy went-away from him.

.14And he charged to him to say nothing - "but having gone-away you must point-out yourself to the priest and offer concerning your cleaning according as Moses arranged-towards (people) for a witness to them." .15But the word concerning him rather used-to throughly-go and many crowds used-to come-together to hear and to be attended-to from their weaknesses; .16but he used-to-be departing in the desert-places and praying.

.17And it came-to-pass in one of the days and he used-to-be teaching; and Pharisees and law-teachers used-to-be sitting-down, the (people who) used-to-be having come² from every village of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem; and (the) ability of (the) Lord used-to-be with-a-view-for him to heal.

.18And look!, adult-males carrying a man on a bed who used-to-be having been paralized² and they used-to seek-after to carry him into (the house) and to put him before him, .19and not having found of-which-kind they may carry him into (it) because-of the crowd, having ascended on the roof they left him down together with the little-bed through the pottery-areas into the midst in-front-of Jesus; .20and having known their belief he said, Man, your sins were dismissed² from you. .21And the scribes and the Pharisees began to throughly-calculate saying, Who is this-person who utters-forth blasphemies? Who is able to dismiss sins except the only God?

.22But Jesus having fully-known their through-calculations, having answered said towards them, Why do you throughly-calculate in your hearts? .23What is more-well-labored to say, ‘Your sins were dismissed²,’ or to say, ‘You must rise-up and walk’? .24But in order that you may have known² that the son of man has authority on the earth to dismiss sins - he said to the (man) having been paralized² - to you I say: you must rise-up and having lifted your little-bed you must journey into your house.

.25And with-that having stood-up before them, having lifted on which he used-to lie-down he went-away into his house glorifying God. .26And a bewilderment took all-people-together and they used-to-glorify God and they were filled of fear saying that, We saw paradoxical-things today.

.27And after these-things he went-out and gazed-upon a tax-collector, Levi by-name sitting-down on the tax-office, and he said to him, You must follow me. .28And having left-down all-things, having stood-up he used-to-follow him. .29And Levi made a great reception for him in his house and there used-to-be a big crowd of tax-collectors and other-people, the (people who) used-to-be lying-down with them. .30And the Pharisees and their scribes used-to-murmur against his learning-disciples saying, Because-of-what do you eat and drink with the tax-collectors and sinners?

.31And Jesus having answered said towards them, "The (people) being sound do not have a need of a healer but the (people) having badly; .32I did not come² to call righteous-people but sinners into repentance." .33But the (people) said towards him, "The learning-disciples of John frequently fast and make supplications, likewise also the (learning-disciples) of the Pharisees, but the (learning-disciples) of you eat and drink."

.34But Jesus said towards them, "You are not able to make the sons of the bridal-chamber to fast in which (time) the bridegroom is with them, are you? - (no.) .35But days will come even whenever the bridegroom may be lifted from them - then they will fast in those days."

.36But he also used-to-say a parable towards them that, "Not-one-person throws a patch from a new outer-garment on an old outer-garment having divided, but if not, indeed both the patch, the (patch) from the new will divide the new - and it will not agree with the old; .37and not-one-person throws new wine into an old skin-container, but if not, indeed the wine, the new (wine) will tear the skin-containers and it will be poured-out - and the skin-containers will destroy-themselves, .38but new wine is-thrown into new skin-containers, .39and not-one-person having drank old intends new for he says, ‘The old is benevolent’."

    Chapter 6

⁶:¹But it came-to-pass in a sabbath (for) him to throughly-journey by means of sown-fields, and his learning-disciples used-to-pluck and used-to-eat the ears (of grain) rubbing the hands. .2But some of the Pharisees said, Why do you do that-which is not permitted on the sabbaths? .3And Jesus having answered said towards them, "Did you not-even read that-which David did when he hungered, he and the (people) with him - .4he went into the house of God and having taken the show-breads he ate and gave to the (people) with him, which it is not permitted to eat except the priests only? .5And he used-to-say to them, The son of man is Lord of the sabbath."

.6But it came-to-pass in a different sabbath (for) him to go into the synagogue and to teach; and a man used-to-be there and his hand, the right (hand) used-to-be dried. .7But the scribes and the Pharisees used-to keep-closely-to him if in the sabbath he attends-to (someone) in order that they may find (something) to accuse him.

.8But he had known their through-calculations; and he said to the adult-male, the (adult-male) having the dried hand, You must rise-up and stand into the midst; and having stood-up he stood. .9But Jesus said towards them, I ask you: if it is permitted to do-good on the sabbath or to do-bad, to save a soul or to destroy?

.10And having observed-around all them he said to him, You must stretch-out your hand. And the (man) did and his hand was restored. .11But they were filled of un-mindfulness and they used-to throughly-utter-forth towards one-another what they may ever do to Jesus.

.12But it came-to-pass in these days (for) him to go-out into the mountain to pray, and he used-to-be through-the-night in the prayer of God; .13and when day came-to-pass he uttered-sounds-towards his learning-disciples, and having selected-for-himself twelve from them - whom also he named apostles: .14Simon whom also he named Peter and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip and Bartholomew, .15and Matthew and Thomas, and James of Alphaeus and Simon the (person) being called Zealot, .16and Judas of James and Judas Iscariot who became a betrayer –

.17and having descended with them he stood on a flat place and a big crowd of his learning-disciples and a big multitude of people from all of Judea and Jerusalem and the coast of Tyre and Sidon, .18the (people who) went to hear him and to be healed from their diseases, and the (people) being troubled from unclean spirits used-to-be attended-to, .19and all the crowd used-to seek-after to touch him because ability from him used-to come-out and heal all-people.

.20And he having lifted-up his eyes into his learning-disciples used-to-say, "Happy (are) the poor-people because yours is the kingdom of God. .21Happy (are) the (people) hungering now because you will be fed. Happy (are) the (people) crying now because you will laugh. .22Happy are you whenever men may hate you and whenever they may separate you and may reproach and throw-out your name as evil by-reason-of the son of man; .23you must joy in that day and jump, for look!, your compensation (will be) much in the heaven, for according to the same-things their fathers used-to-do to the prophets.

.24Besides, woe to you, the wealthy-people, because you have your encouragement. .25Woe to you, the (people) having been filled² now, because you will hunger. Woe, the (people) laughing now, because you will mourn and cry. .26Woe whenever all men may say beautifully (regarding) you, for according to the same-things their fathers used-to-do to the lying-prophets.

.27But I say to you, the (people) hearing: you must love¹ your enemies; you must do beautifully to the (people) hating you; .28you must bless the (people) cursing you; you must pray concerning the (people) maligning you. .29To the (person) beating you on the cheek you must present also the other; and from the (person) lifting your outer-garment you must not hinder also the inner-garment; .30to every-person asking you you must give, and from the (person) lifting your things you must not ask.

.31And in order that men may do to you according as you intend likewise you must do to them; .32and if you love¹ the (people) loving¹ you, what-kind-of grace is with you? - for also the sinners love¹ the (people) loving¹ them; .33and if-ever you may do-good-to the (people) doing-good-to you, what-kind-of grace is with you? - also the sinners do the same-thing; .34and if-ever you may lend from whom you hope to receive, what-kind-of grace is with you? - also sinners lend to sinners in order that they may receive the equal-things.

.35Besides, you must love¹ your enemies and you must do-good and lend hoping nothing, and your compensation will be much and you will be sons of (the) Highest because He is benevolent on the ungracious-people and evil-people. .36You must become pitiful according as your Father is pitiful; .37and you must not judge and you may never be judged; and you must not condemn and you may never be condemned. You must loosen and you will be loosened.

.38You must give and it will be given to you; a beautiful measure, having been condensed², having been shaken², being poured-out-over, they will give into your bosom, for with which measure you measure it will be measured-back to you. .39But he said also a parable to them, A blind-person is not able to guide a blind-person, is he? - (no); both will cause-themselves-to fall-in into a pit, won’t they? - (yes.) .40A learning-disciple is not over the teacher, but every-person having been fully-equipped² will be as his teacher.

.41But why do you observe the speck, the (speck) in the eye of your brother, but the beam, (the) beam in (your) own eye you do not mentally-perceive? .42How are you able to say to your brother, ‘Brother, you must leave (me so) I may throw-out the speck, the (speck) in your eye’ - not observing yourself, the beam in your eye? Hypocrite, you must firstly throw-out the beam from your eye and then you will throughly-observe the speck, the (speck) in the eye of your brother to throw-out.

.43For there is not a beautiful tree making rotten fruit, nor again a rotten tree making beautiful fruit; .44for from (its) own fruit each tree is known; for they do not collect figs from thorns neither do they gather a grape from a bramble-bush. .45The good man from the good treasure of heart carries-forth the good-thing, and the evil (man) from the evil (treasure of heart) carries-forth the evil-thing; for from excess of heart his mouth utters-forth. .46But why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and you do not do which-things I say?

.47Every-person coming towards me and hearing my words and doing them, I will point-out to you whom he is like: .48he is like a man building a house who dug and made-deep and put a foundation on the rock, but (after) high-water having come-to-pass the river dashed-towards that house and was not strong to shake it because-of the (reason of) it having been beautifully built². .49But the (person) having heard and not having done (my words) is like a man having built a house on the earth without a foundation, to which the river dashed-towards, and immediately it fell-together and (the) tear of that house became great."

    Chapter 7

⁷:¹Since-indeed he filled all his spoken-matters into the hearing of the people, he went into Capernaum. .2But some slave of a centurion having badly used-to be about to complete (his life), who used-to-be in-honor by him; .3but having heard concerning Jesus he apostled elders of the Judeans towards him asking him so-that having come he may throughly-save his slave. .4But the (elders) having arrived towards Jesus used-to-encourage him with-earnest-diligence saying that, Worthy is to whom you will present this, .5for he loves¹ our nation and he built the synagogue for us.

.6And Jesus used-to-journey together with them, but (during) his already having not distant away from the house the centurion sent friends saying to him, "Lord, you must not be harassed for I am not sufficient in order that you may come-in under my roof, .7on-which-account neither am I myself worthy to come towards you, but you must say with a word and my servant must be healed, .8for even I am a man being arranged under authority having soldiers under myself and I say to this (soldier), ‘You must journey,’ and he journeys, and to another, ‘You must come,’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘You must do this,’ and he does."

.9But having heard these-things Jesus marveled-at him and having turned to the crowd following he said, I say to you, not-even in Israel I found so-much belief. .10And having returned into the house the (people) having been sent found the slave being sound.

.11And it came-to-pass in the next (day) he journeyed into a city being called: Nain, and his learning-disciples used-to journey-together with him and a big crowd. .12But as he came-near the gate of the city, also look!, an only-begotten son to his mother having died² used-to-be carried-out and she used-to-be a widow, and a crowd of the city used-to-be sufficient together with her.

.13And having seen her the Lord had-compassion on her and said to her, You must not cry. .14And having come-towards (her) he touched the bier, and the (people) lifting-up stood, and he said, Young-man, to you I say, ‘You must be raised-up’. .15And the dead-man sat-up and began to utter-forth, and he gave him to his mother. .16But fear took all-people and they used-to-glorify God saying that, A great prophet was raised-up among us, and that, God looked-intensely-on His people.

.17And this word went-out in whole Judea concerning him and all the country-around. .18And his learning-disciples announced to John concerning all these-things, and John having called some two of his learning-disciples towards-himself .19sent towards the Lord saying, "Are you the (one) coming or do we expect another? .20But having arrived towards him the adult-males said, John the baptizer apostled us towards you saying, ‘Are you the (one) coming or do we expect another?’." .21In that hour he attended-to many-people from diseases and whippings and evil spirits, and he graced many blind-people to observe.

.22And having answered he said to them, Having journeyed you must announce to John which-things you saw and heard: blind-people observe-upwardly, lame-people walk, lepers are cleaned, and deaf-people hear, dead-people are raised-up, poor-people are good-messaged, .23and he is happy who if-ever may not be caused-offense in me.

.24But (after) the messengers of John having gone-away, he began to say towards the crowds concerning John, "Why did you go-out into the desert-place - to gaze-upon a reed being shaken by wind? .25But, why did you go-out - to see a man having been clothed² in soft outer-garments? Look!, the (people) being in clothing in-glory and luxurious-living from-the-beginning are in the kingly-houses.

.26But, why did you go-out - to see a prophet? Yes, I say to you, even more-exceeding of a prophet. .27This-person is concerning whom it was written², ‘Look!, I apostle My angel before your face who will fully-prepare your way in-front-of you.’ .28I say to you, there is not-one-person greater of John among people-born of women; but the smaller is greater of him in the kingdom of God."

.29And all the people having heard and the tax-collectors made God righteous having been baptized (with) the baptism of John; .30but the Pharisees and the law-people rejected the deliberate-determination of God into themselves not having been baptized by him. .31"Therefore to what will I liken the men of this generation, even what are they like? .32They are like young-children, the (young-children) sitting-down in a marketplace and uttering-sounds-towards one-another, who say, ‘We played-on-the-pipe to you and you did not dance, we sang-dirges and you did not cry.’

.33For John the baptizer came² not eating bread neither drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a devil.’ .34The son of man came² eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look!, a man (who is) an eater and wine-drinker, a friend of tax-collectors and sinners.’ .35And wisdom was made-righteous from all her children." .36But someone of the Pharisees used-to-ask him in order that he may eat with him; and having gone into the house of the Pharisee he was caused-to-lean-down.

.37And look!, a woman - she-who used-to-be a sinner in the city and having fully-known that he lies-down in the house of the Pharisee, having brought an alabaster-jar of ointment .38and having stood behind beside his feet crying - began to send-rain with the tears (on) his feet, and she used-to-wipe with the hairs of her head and kiss his feet and anoint with ointment.

.39But having seen the Pharisee, the (Pharisee) having called him, said in himself saying, "This-person if he used-to-be a prophet ever used-to-know who and what-quality the woman (is), she-who touches him, that she is a sinner. .40And Jesus having answered said towards him, Simon, I have something to say to you." And the (Pharisee) says, Teacher, you must say.

.41"There used-to-be two debtors to some creditor: the one used-to-owe five-hundred denarii, but the different-one fifty; .42(during) their not having to give-away, he graciously-forgave both-people. Therefore who of them will love¹ him more? .43Simon having answered said, I take-from-underneath that to whom he graciously-forgave the more." And the (one) said to him, Uprightly you judged.

.44And having been turned towards the woman he said to Simon, "Do you observe this woman? I came into your house: you did not give to me water on (my) feet - but she sent-rain (on) my feet with tears and she wiped with her hairs; .45you did not give a kiss to me - but she from which (time) I came-into (your house) did not throughly-leave kissing my feet; .46you did not anoint my head with olive-oil - but she anointed my feet with ointment.

.47(It is) for-which-grace - I say to you - her sins were dismissed², the many (sins), that she loved¹ much; but to whom a little is dismissed he loves¹ little. .48But he said to her, Your sins were dismissed²." .49And the (people) lying-up-together with (him) began to say in themselves, Who is this-person who also dismisses sins? .50But he said towards the woman, Your belief saved² you; you must journey into peace.

    Chapter 8

⁸:¹And it came-to-pass in the successive (time) also he used-to travel-through according to a city and a village heralding-forth and good-messaging the kingdom of God, and the twelve together with him, .2and some women used-to-be having been attended-to² from evil spirits and weaknesses - Mary the (woman) being called Magdalene from whom seven devils had gone-out, .3and Joanna wife of Chuza a guardian of Herod, and Susanna, and many different (women), the-(women)-who used-to-minister to them from the-things beginning-from them.

.4But (during) a big crowd being-together and the (people) journeying-on according to a city towards him, he said by means of a parable, .5"The (person) sowing went-out to sow his sowing-seed, and in him sowing (there was seed) which indeed fell beside the way and it was trodden-down and the birds of the heaven devoured it; .6and different (seed) fell-down on the rock and having sprouted it was dried because-of not having moisture; .7and different (seed) fell in (the) midst of the thorns and the thorns having sprouted-together strangled it away; .8and different (seed) fell into the earth, the good (earth), and having sprouted it made fruit a hundred-times. Saying these-things he used-to-sound, The (person) having ears to hear he must hear."

.9But his learning-disciples used-to-ask him what this parable may be; .10and the (one) said, "To you it was given² to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the remaining-people in parables in order that observing they may not observe, and hearing they may not understand.

    .11But this is the parable: the sowing-seed is the word of God; .12but the (people) beside the way are the (people) having heard, then the devil comes and lifts the word from their heart in order that not having believed they may be saved; .13but the (people) on the rock (are) the (people) whenever they may hear they accept the word with joy, and these-people do not have a root, the (people who) believe towards a time and in time of temptation they depart-from (the word);

.14but the-thing having fallen into the thorns these are the (people) having heard, and journeying by anxieties and wealth and delights of life they are strangled-together and they do not bear-completely; .15but the-thing in the beautiful earth, these are the-people-who having heard the word in a beautiful and good heart hold-down and bear-fruit in patient-endurance."

.16"But not-one-person having touched a lamp covers it with a vessel or puts down-under a bed but he puts on a lamp-stand in order that the (people) journeying-into (the house) may observe the light.

.17For there is not a hidden-thing which will not become manifest, nor a hidden-away-thing which may never be known and come into a manifest-thing. .18Therefore you must observe how you hear: for who ever may have it will be given to him, and who ever may not have also that-which he considers to have it will be lifted from him. .19But his mother and brothers arrived towards him and they used-to not be-able to meet with him because-of the crowd; .20and it was announced to him, Your mother and your brothers stood² outside intending to see you."

.21But the (one) having answered said towards them, "My mother and my brothers are these-people, the (people) hearing the word of God and doing (it)." .22But it came-to-pass in one of the days also he embarked into a
