    The Daily Texts 2016 - Mount Carmel Ministries

    FOREWORD

    You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Isaiah 58:11

    In the midst of hopelessness, God promises to be our guide, satisfy our needs and strengthen us like a spring that never goes dry. God’s desire is to sustain us physically and spiritually so that we produce spiritual fruit that serves as a beacon to the world, pointing others to a loving, heavenly Father.

    When you use the Daily Texts, you join together with the Christian community worldwide, a connection which bridges across cultures, nations, and languages. By asking the four T.R.I.P.© questions of the biblical texts, you become a well-watered garden and a blessing to others.

    To help you be a blessing, over twenty friends of this ministry have written daily prayers based on the T.R.I.P.© method. Additional resources like hymns, the Shepherd’s Voice, and Lectio Divina help deepen your devotional life and draw you closer to God.

    May the living waters of Jesus renew and refresh you on your journey, bringing you into God’s eternal river of love, his wellspring that will never run dry.

    Hymn

    What child is this, who laid to rest,

    On Mary’s lap is sleeping?

    Whom angels greet with anthems sweet

    While shepherds watch are keeping?

    This, this is Christ the king,

    Whom shepherds guard and angels sing

    Haste, haste to bring him laud,

    The babe the son of Mary!

    So bring him incense, gold, and myrrh;

    Come peasant king to own him.

    The King of kings salvation brings

    Let loving hearts enthrone him.

    Raise, raise the song on high

    The virgin sings her lullaby;

    Joy, joy for Christ is born,

    The babe, the son of Mary!

    Lord God, I confess that too often I live my life like a closed book, keeping my secrets hidden within the pages of my heart. In your mercy, crack me open. Look at my record.
