Verna E. MacKay

Verna was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica in the West Indies. She spent most of the years of her life in her adopted country, the United States of America. One of Verna’s favorite books to read is the bible. She believes Jesus is coming back soon, and wants to see as many people as possible accept the gift of salvation, Jesus Christ the Savior of the world, turn from their sins, and follow the Lord. Verna would like to tear Satan’s kingdom down, several souls at a time, while building up the kingdom of God. She prays that the books the Lord has given her to write will help you, and point you to the true treasure, the fountain of youth, the Lamb of God, whose blood can wash you whiter than snow.

Jesus World's Greatest Story Teller (Parábolas De Jesús) - Verna E. MacKay

    INTRODUCTION

This book is designed to reach a world dying in their sins, not realizing that time is running out, and earth as you know it will end. The enemy Satan has put blinders on the world, have caused them to slumber and sleep, while he devices ways to destroy the human race.

There are many walking around thinking they are walking in the truth of God’s word, will one day find out when it is too late that they were walking in darkness. When the light came, they rejected light, when the truth of God’s words came, rejected the truth and continued on the wrong pathway.

Are you tired of the same old thing that is fed to you day after day by Satan? Do you long for a better life; are your burdens heavy, are they weighing you down? There is a friend you can trust, you can lay your burdens on him and he will carry them for you.

The entire world loves stories, and that is why the television and the movies are so popular. As adults, you never outgrow the need to hear a good story, and Jesus knew how to get your attention by telling you stories called parables. They are true to life stories he used as illustration to get his point across so that you will understand better what he is saying.

Those learned priests, Pharisees did not always understand what Jesus was saying, but those who were called common most times understood. Sometimes the disciples did not understand what Jesus was saying so they would ask him in privacy, what he meant and he would explain it to them. His disciples asked the questions you and I would ask to get an understanding of the meaning of the parables. Jesus told many parables; in this book are some of the parables Jesus told. Some of the illustration Jesus used are sometimes taken out of context to say what Jesus never intended for them to say, and are misapplied to suit the desires of those who want them to say, what Jesus is not teaching.

    Chapter 1

    Wise World Naive Christians

…the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light. Luke 16:8.

This rich man had a servant, a bookkeeper or he may have been the account who was in charge of his money. He was a steward of what was entrusted to him to handle and to take care of. The rich man heard that the steward was stealing his money, so he called the steward told him he wanted him to give an account of his money that was entrusted to him to take care of.

The servant was busted, he had been found out by his master that he was cooking the books, and he was about to lose his job. Well he said to himself, that his master was going to fire him and he had to come up with a plan to provide for himself. This servant had been stealing from his master, helping himself to money that did not belong to him. He as guilty of embezzlement and he may even be thrown in prison for stealing. He said to himself that he was too old to dig, too old to get another job, he was ashamed, not because of what he had done, but because he had been found out and he did not want to work at his age, and begging to earn a living was not something he wanted to do. He was too proud to sit by the wayside and beg people who passed by for money to support himself. The steward was in a bad situation that he had created for himself because he was greedy and a thief. He coveted what did not belong to him, and because of it now suffered the consequences of stealing.

After much thinking he came up with a brilliant idea of how he was going to live out the remainder of his life. He needed someone to support him.

There were people who owed his master money and he was going to call all of them one by one, forgive some of the debts, and in return for the favor, they would take care of him. That would solve his problem, so he called this one and asked how much he owed his master, and the first one he called owed his master one hundred measures of oil. The steward told him to sit down and quickly write that he owed his master fifty measures of oil instead of one hundred measures. This the debtor gladly did, and so it was done. The steward called the second person who owed his master one hundred measures of wheat, and told him to take the bill and quickly write that he owed the master four score. This the steward did with all of those who were indebted to his master.

The master of the steward found out what his steward had done, he had to acknowledge and commend the thieving steward for being wise. Luke 16:1-8. Do not get this story Jesus told as being an accepted form that the Lord condones what the unjust steward did, he was making a point between the differences of the worldly people, and the subjects of his kingdom.

You are a steward of what the Lord have entrusted you to take care of; it does not belong to you. Everything belongs to the Lord, and when you realize this, you will not be careless with it. One day the Lord will ask you to give an account of the things he trusted you to take care of, including your time.
