Francis Xavier Aloisio

Francis Xavier Aloisio was born on the island of Malta, but spent more than half of his life abroad, first in Peru as a missionary priest and then in England where he settled after resigning from the Church.Whilst abroad, he realised that not many people knew about the temples of Malta. On his return home, he had a strong urge to find a way to promote the unique wealth of the Maltese prehistoric and historic culture. Firstly he created a collection of paintings depicting Malta’s journey throughout history, and then he started doing his own research on the Temples of Malta and Gozo.He completed a trilogy on the temples of Malta: 'Islands of Dream,' 'The Age of Magic and Wisdom' and 'The New Temple Dreamers.' He also published 'The Maltese Temples in Paintings & Poetry' and 'Malta through the Ages,' 'The Islands of Dream Speak' and 'A Cosmic Perspective to the Maltese Temples' as a self-guide to the sites. He even wrote two autobiographies: 'What a Trip!' and 'Coming to Light!'In 2017, he embarked on writing the script and making a documentary of the Maltese temples: Let the Stones Speak! This documentary is a compilation of all his work and insights about the temples of Malta.Francis directs and consults with people/groups about the experience of the sacred sites found on Malta & Gozo (see: maltatemplejourneys.com), and now together with Christine Auriela, does the same with people who want to visit the Central Coast of California and to connect with the pure Lemurian Energies (lemuriaenergyjourneys.com).Francis started painting late in his life as a way of self-expression. He draws his inspiration from his Maltese background and his experience in South America and England. He is a visionary artist, author, public speaker and spiritual temple consultant.* Please remember to leave a review for my book at your favourite retailer.

    FOREWORD BY DR. LOUIS LAGANÀ

In his famous book and a six part television series The Power of Myth (1988), American mythologist and writer, Joseph Campbell, says that in ‘myth’ there is some kind of truth. He also stresses that humans show how apt they are in creating and living out of the themes of mythology in everyday life.

In his new novel Francis Xavier Aloisio creates myth based about archaeological evidence and also questions important issues on the first inhabitants of Malta, the use of the temples, the Goddess, Prehistoric symbolism, alignment of the temples, and whether ‘Malta was the Heart Centre of that first Cosmic Civilisation on Earth.’ His novel is based on a series of fictitious dialogues between a common Maltese couple and a foreigner, an ‘extra-terrestrial,’ who discuss in a lively manner the importance of Malta as a central place in the world during ancient times. The author managed to weave together the interesting characteristics of Maltese customs and culture with archaeological questions debated today by many scholars.

We know that in recent years interest in Maltese Prehistoric temples and artefacts increased markedly. People in Malta are becoming more conscious about their origins and more awareness of the conservation of the temples is also noticeable. The importance of Prehistoric art lies in its power to reveal the social context of the life of the early inhabitants of the Maltese Islands. Increase in this interest involved not only archaeologists and historians and writers but also artists. One could ask a number of questions. Why is Maltese prehistoric art and culture so important today? Is there a link between Malta’s Prehistory and the lost ancient civilisations like the Lemurians and Atlanteans? In a subtle way Mr. Aloisio successfully maps Malta as a central place of energy and networking, where temples were built on electromagnetic grids. These were used as a vast stone astronomical calculator, superconductors and a prehistoric power plant, installed to store light and to produce non-lethal high frequency active auroral energy.

Mr. Aloisio is very enthusiastic about a number of issues related to Prehistory and he deals with interesting themes which create certain awareness in the general public. He engages himself in particular discussions about the Temples’ alignment and solstice phenomena, the interpretation of spirals and other symbols found in many temples and how the cart-ruts and dolmens which some say are also found on the seabed around the Maltese islands.

The climax of his discussion in this book goes beyond the idea that the temples served only as shrines, places of cult or where burial celebrations were held. He suggests the hypothesis that Malta formed part of Atlantis. In the last chapter he ends with a fascinating prediction that someday a new era will dawn and when ‘the Secret Scripts of Atlantis buried in a crystal chamber under the Maltese soil will be revealed to the world.’

Above all this novel is a good read not only for those who are enthusiastic about the study of Prehistory or by just sheer enjoyment of fictitious anecdotes flavoured with stimulating stories about how Maltese life was in ancient times, but also for those who are interested to discover our beginning and perhaps what the future will hold for mankind.

Dr Louis Laganà University of Malta ‘08.

    INTRODUCTION

I was born in a country that has a great prehistoric civilisation with a culture that dates back to thousands of years. Since childhood I was always fascinated by our prehistoric culture, but we were never encouraged to search or further our studies about this period. The emphasis then was on, what I term the Christian past, the shipwreck of St. Paul on these islands, and the arrival of the Knights of St. John, and the British Empire. Prehistory was the period of our pagan therefore alien past.

During my long years abroad I slowly started to become more aware and more appreciative of the history of my culture and the wealth of heritage found on the small island of Malta. Throughout these years, I realised that not many people knew about the temples of Malta. Everybody knew about the Pyramids, about Stonehenge, Newgrange, Nasca and Machu Picchu. But they drew a blank when it came to Malta’s temples. Yet these temples are far older than those well-known sites. Later I found out that they were not only the oldest but they are actually the first and the most important of all existing pre-historical sites in the world.

I have been interested in Metaphysics since my early years of study for the priesthood. Both during my Philosophical and Theological studies, I learned all about dogma, scripture, morals, sacraments and rituals. I had many doubts and questions about many things, so my inquisitive spirit took me on a journey of a personal search for the truth. I read about the Dead Sea Scrolls, Gnostic Gospels, Mesopotamian writings, the Prophet Enoch, the Essene Gospel and the Eastern pre-Christians writings like the Upanishads and Bhagavat Gita. I was fascinated by the content.

When I was in Peru I had the opportunity to learn about the great Inca culture. I quickly dropped any preconceived ideas I held about their beliefs or so called superstitions, learnt to keep an open heart in order to listen to what they had to say and an open mind to understand their spiritual expression. I started to appreciate then their great wisdom and profound mysticism. I realised that these humble and profound people had a deeper interconnectedness with the cosmos and the Divine energy than I ever had or ever experienced in Catholic Europe. Their belief system was based on a great respect for supernatural forces and for Mother Nature. But my ancestors must have also had this connection with Mother Gaia through their Goddess culture and their temple structures. So I embarked on a personal search into the mysterious prehistoric heritage of my country and to find out the real meaning of the Temple Culture.

After returning home, I felt the need to study and to research in depth this culture of mine. I felt a strong urge running through my bones to express this lost culture of my country. Suddenly there was an urgency to convey myself in the only form that I knew then, namely to put on canvas the wealth of heritage of my land and my people. Thus I painted Malta’s unique culture and its journey in time and space from prehistory to history and contemporary society, expressed in vibrant colours and distinctive symbols. The outcome of my work together with that of friends was a combination of visual art, poetry and prose that provided a comprehensive and holistic appreciation of all that is Maltese.

It was to be an overall exhilarating, invigorating and fulfilling experience and I was pleased to have finally been able to bring out and to share this heritage of Malta with the world through my artistic brush. During this period I was living at the village of Mgarr and it was here where I met the local baker Mario Vassallo, who happened to be a keen researcher of the temples. Through our discussions I realised that I needed to do my own research on the prehistoric side of Malta’s heritage. Sometime later I put this research down on canvas. These paintings on the prehistoric Temples of Malta were eventually exhibited at The Valletta Waterfront during autumn of 2005, entitled: Malta through the Ages-8000+years of History in Art, Poetry & Prose.

Throughout the duration of the exhibition I was lucky to meet very interesting people; I had the opportunity of getting to know Josh Schwartzbach & Adrienne Metcalf from America and Hubert Zeitlmair & C. Dagmar from Germany who were to be a big source of inspiration for this novel.

The idea of the book came as a result of a combination of many events, coincidences, occurrences and people that finally led to this interesting story of our temples and their purpose in the scheme of things in the history of our planet. It was as fascinating observing the process of this research as it was writing it, during which time I exchanged the brush for the computer. Thus this ‘novelogue’ was born, a story in the form of a continuous dialogue between three people and their exchange of ideas on the temples of Malta.

These mysterious temples have sat there in isolated silence for many centuries, witnessing all the resettlements of the Maltese archipelago and all the various foreign occupations that have come and gone. After being overlooked and ignored for many thousands of years by post-Neolithic man, finally the hidden mysteries of these incredible prehistoric sites of Malta and Gozo are uncovered.

Although these views about the temples are expressed in the form of a novel, this does not diminish the hidden truths exposed, expressed and discussed between the main protagonists of the novel. Some of these will be the subject of disbelief, arguments and disagreement by many, but I am sure they will resonate with many others.

The novel is intended to challenge conventional views and fixed theories of the experts and to raise awareness of other concepts and theories about the temples. I feel that there is an urgent need for more research to be done about the true purpose of these extraordinary buildings, and I hope that this novel acts as a catalyst towards this direction.

Most importantly, it could encourage us, Maltese, to start to think out of the box about our prehistoric past and come to value our unique prehistoric heritage. We have a moral and legal responsibility to take care of our priceless treasures, as we are entrusted with these to be their guardians and keepers. This novel is an opportunity to open wider the discussion about the temples, as only then we can appreciate their role in the history of humanity.

I dedicate this book to all the people who are in search of the truth and to all those who have the prehistoric heritage at heart. I dedicate it especially to all the children of this planet - the ‘first citizens’ and the ‘new visionaries’ of the future world. I believe that they have the right frequency, the great perception, the mind frame and the intuitive intelligence to understand the many exposed truths in this book.

    Author’s Note 1:

The possible purpose of the Maltese Prehistoric Temples are discussed in this my first novel.

Some of the views proffered are quite amazing and very different from the official and orthodox ones. This is a book that needs not only to be read but more importantly to be taken in slowly so its contents can be digested properly. Each chapter unfolds a new mystery and for this reason it should be perused in an almost meditative way. I propose that you read one chapter at a time so the words and the ideas can sink in.

Read the book as if you are watching the story in a movie; see how you feel and then check what resonates with you. Sometimes there are facts that are difficult to accept although we know in our hearts that they ring true. Let your intuition and your heart be your guide, and listen attentively to the wisdom of the stones. Many might reject its content and its views, but I am sure that others will accept what they read as it touches a cord somewhere inside their Being.

While doing my research for the book I found myself challenged to think about the temples in a very different way. Now I am offering the reader to challenge the boundaries of his/her own beliefs. My appeal is to approach the book with an open mind and, more importantly, not to completely dismiss the viewpoints expressed. I feel that there are signs of readiness on the part of many to explore new territories and to question conventional ideas, ready to rediscover old truths, accept new thoughts and welcome new realities.

Enjoy the talking-adventure about the mysterious temples!

    CHAPTER I - THE ENCOUNTER

It was a perfect day with a flawless sky and a warm southerly wind. The island of Malta was celebrating a National Holiday and many people were on leave. Manwel woke up early that morning and decided to go for a brisk walk along the southern cliffs. This was his practical therapy to clear his mind and to get some good exercise. Rosaria, his wife, wanted to stay home to do some spring cleaning and to prepare lessons for her classes.

Manwel was a middle aged man with strong Mediterranean features - suntanned skin, well-built, dark curly hair and average height. He kept himself in shape and had a trimmed moustache. He took pride in his appearance although he preferred to wear casual clothes. He came from the southern part of Malta, from Zurrieq, while his wife Rosaria came from the nearby village of Qrendi where they lived. He worked as an engineer with a private company and his wife was a Secondary School teacher at the local College. They had no children. Manwel’s only regret was that at his age he needed glasses for reading, a handicap that turned to frustration each time he forgot them at home. His main hobby was…well, it was more an obsession than a hobby.

That morning he decided to wear a sweater, his favourite jeans and the usual walking shoes. After a vigorous walk, he sat at the edge of the cliff for a breather, enjoying the feel of the wind brushing softly against his cheeks. Today he could clearly hear the sea ramming against the rock cliffs at Wied iz-Zurrieq and crashing into the caverns below and the almost audible silence. Around him there was just fresh air and patches of wildflowers sprouting here and there among the ragged rocks. He could never have imagined what a memorable day it would turn out to be, and the many revelations that he would have to deal with.

Good morning. How do you do? a voice interrupted his reverie.

Manwel was too lost in his own thoughts to even answer the stranger’s question. That morning he just wanted to be on his own and enjoy his own company. He sat there motionless staring at the horizon, looking at the open sea and the clear blue sky. He was cherishing this rare opportunity to have his own thoughts as his sole companions. It was almost impossible to be entirely on your own and have some peace and quiet on this island; there are too many people, too many cars, too much noise… he quietly observed to himself. Too much of everything on this small rock, but here on these cliffs facing the open sea, I can have some space.

This place where he was sitting was tucked away in the hollow southern cliffs of Malta, with no modern development in sight, only the flowery slopes, the sea and the rocky islet of Filfla out in the distance. It’s true we have too much of everything in Malta, even when it comes to prehistoric sites. Just imagine, we have more prehistoric temples on this island than all the sites put together in the whole of Europe, he found himself wondering. Besides, they are considered to be the oldest standing archaeological monuments on planet earth, although none of the historians and archaeologists agree on their precise dating. Well that is quite something! he heard himself stating in amazement.

Manwel thought that he was alone on those high cliffs, but when he looked up he realised that there was a stranger standing beside him, looking as if he was waiting for an answer.

Oh. I am so sorry, he said, not knowing what he was sorry for. He was really not in a mood for a chat with anybody, especially foreigners. This one must want some information or other directions.

How do you do? asked the stranger softly once again. He went on to ask him whether he minded if he joined him.

Well, of course not, nodded Manwel, as he moved slightly aside to make room for the stranger. There was sitting on an open xaghri, one of the few spaces left on this overpopulated island. My name is Manwel.

Pleased to meet you! Mine is Ranfis, shaking hands as they introduced themselves. What a beautiful view! remarked Ranfis, as he sat down beside Manwel looking out at the blue horizon towards Filfla.

Well yes, it certainly is! I like the way the blue sky melts into the deep blue of the sea, continued Manwel. We lack the green of the countryside and of the trees, but we do have many shades of blue to make up for it.

It is also very peaceful over here, added Ranfis.

It must be one of the few places still undisturbed around this island. I come here when I want some quiet and when I need to meditate and to think without being disturbed by any noise. We have too much noise on this island, said Manwel. Are you visiting the island? he asked with a hint of curiosity in his voice.

Well yes and no, answered Ranfis with a bit of hesitation.

I am from this area, replied Manwel hastily without pondering on the half answer that Ranfis had just given him. I live in the next village from here. I woke up early this morning and I decided to come out for a walk on these cliffs. I generally finish my walk end up sitting beside one of these temples over the edge of this hill. When I am there, I just sit quietly and daydream. I never cease to wonder how our forefathers managed to build these temples. I frequently ask myself what their real purpose was.

Manwel seemed hardly aware of what he was saying. He was really still lost in his own thoughts.
