      Introduction

      Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. (Acts 12:5)

      How do we get miracles from God? By our prayers! Peter needed to get out of prison. King Herod had killed others, and Peter was next. The Church prayed without ceasing, and God sent an angel to bring him out of prison, and save his life. Peter’s miracle began with prayer.

      Miracles defy natural law. When we are in an impossible situation – something that cannot be done in the natural– we need a miracle. Peter’s impossibility was prison, and the hostile king determined to kill him. Life is full of impossibilities. God is a god of possibilities.

      If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9: 23).

      We need to learn how to pray faith–filled prayers that overcome our impossibilities, and cause God to deliver miracles to us.

      How did I discover the potential of prayer?

      You are going to die – you better do something about it!

      For ten years of my life, I smoked marijuana constantly. The moment I woke up, throughout the day, and before I slept – I smoked! The final month of my ten year addiction was a scary time for me. Like Peter in prison, death was drawing near. I was stuck in something that I had no strength to escape. For one month, every night as I lay down to sleep, I would hear a voice, which terrified me –

      You are going to die – you better do something about it!

      You are going to die – you better do something about it!

      Thank God, my grandmother and her Church were praying for me. As a result, I found myself in Church one cold November night.

      In one night, God

      ·Set me free of a ten – year addiction

      ·Healed me of all negative effects of the drug abuse

      ·Gave me a special gift of healing – an ability to pray for people and see Him heal them

      So, I have discovered the potential of prayer. Our prayers cause God to deliver the miracles that we need in our lives. My grandmother’s prayers were the first of many in my life. That memorable night in Church began a 20 year journey filled with many miracles from God. Following are some of the most memorable ones He has done.

      May your faith begin to rise up as you read, and learn to pray and receive miracles from God. In Jesus’ name.
