About this series

Movies have capitalized on dinosaurs for years; they've often put the wrong idea in people’s heads about what they looked like or even acted like. Dinosaurs that have been tower in height on screen, are often smaller (and sometimes larger) than what we have been led to believe; this book paints a picture of six of the most famous dinosaurs who have roamed the Earth.

In this book, you'll learn all about what made this massive giant great--from what they looked like and ate to where they lived and what they did all day.
The book covers the following dinosaurs:
Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Apatosaurus, Diplodocus, Velociraptor

This is an anthology of six books; each book may also be purchased individually. Just search the dinosaurs name and “KidsCap.”

Out of all the meat-eating animals that have ever lived on the planet Earth, the Tyrannosaurus rex is one of the most awesome. Though the last of these huge carnivores lived 65 million years ago, they are still famous and capture our imaginations maybe more than any other dinosaur except the three-horned triceratops that they lived alongside. In this book, you'll learn all about what made this massive giant great--from what they looked like and ate to where they lived and what they did all day. There were plenty of giant animals around during the Age of Dinosaurs. This epoch ended 65 million years ago when a huge meteor hit the Earth and ushered in our current Age of Mammals. The Age of Dinosaurs saw herds of Triceratops move through what would become the western United States, eating ferns, cycads, and other exotic Cretaceous plants. Tyrannosaurus rex, one of the most powerful, huge meat-eaters ever to live on Earth lived in the same place at the same time. The smaller dinosaurs could be just as strange and interesting, though. One of these is velociraptor, a small dinosaur that lived in Mongolia, at the eastern end of the Old World just across the Bering Strait from what's now Alaska. Velociraptor is famous because of the “Jurassic Park” books and movies, but the real velociraptor, even though it was a meat-eater, wasn't as big or dangerous as the ones that appear in the movies. In this book, you'll learn all about what made this massive giant great--from what they looked like and ate to where they lived and what they did all day. During the height of the Jurassic period, 150 million years ago, giant dinosaurs strode the Earth and made the ground shake under their mighty footfalls. You've probably seen these spectacular long-necked dinosaurs in movies like Jurassic Park and in paintings and drawings in natural history books. These creatures go by the name of Apatosaurus (though you've probably heard of them as Brontosaurus, too, since that was their name for many years, and a few people still use it). In this book, you'll learn all about what made this massive giant great--from what they looked like and ate to where they lived and what they did all day. Long ago in the Jurassic age, 150 million years before the present day, a strange and wonderful assortment of dinosaurs lived on Earth. This was tens of millions of years before the time of dinosaur “superstars” like triceratops and tyrannosaurus, but there were plenty of famous, interesting animals alive at that time, too. Stegosaurus was one of these – a bus sized creature with two rows of plates sticking up along its back like the frill on the spine of a legendary dragon. Besides the rows of plates on its back, stegosaurus had big spikes on its tail that look a lot like the barbs on a medieval knight's mace. In this book, you'll learn all about what made this massive giant great--from what they looked like and ate to where they lived and what they did all day. Over a hundred and fifty million years ago – a span of time so big that it's 30,000 times longer than all of recorded human history – giant animals walked the world. These huge beasts were both plant-eaters and meat-eaters, and there was a whole ecosystem with enormous animals in it. In this book, you'll learn all about what made this massive giant great--from what they looked like and ate to where they lived and what they did all day.
