      INTRODUCTION:

      It is with great pleasure that I wrote this book. I thank GOD for all the people that spoke to me about writing a book. Above all, I thank the Almighty GOD for guidance, direction as well as understanding.

      I have had a passion about relationships for a long time and have met the likes of John Gray from the world famous, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus book. I have met the man twice and having been to many relationship seminars, read books etc. I came to a few conclusions. I realised that most books on relationships had a lot of things missing particularly for the young people. So I have decided to take head on those issues in relationships that affect people of all ages although more so, young people, despite race, colour, creed or any religious affiliation.

      I shall be looking at relationships from 2 dimensions, the spiritual and the natural dimension. My main focus is on the issues that cover both premarital set up and the post wedding day set up. So my intention is to address those key issues that people deal with but are less talked about, I would like to call them freak me out kind of issues.

      I hope that you will be better equipped to handle the key topics that affect relationships and you will be triumphant in your relationships and your perception and view on relationships and things that affect them will be taken to a whole new dimension that will catapult your relationships to greater meaning and purpose.

      Many people are aware of the crisis that is prevailing in Australia at the moment. The issue of domestic violence. Statistics say that every week, one woman dies because of domestic violence. These are grim statistics, and as someone who writes on relationships I must not, and I cannot ignore this crucial topic at the heart of our beautiful nation.

      I have added two bonus chapters on ‘Three Signs that you are Dating Jezebel’ and also lessons from the Gittany Case. This is a case that rocked Australia in the first quarter of 2014. Three Signs you are Dating a Jezebel is a chapter that I wrote to help men and women identify the key traits of an abuser early. Whilst I took the principles from a biblical story, they are potent and are liberating. I say this based on the feedback that I have received.

      I believe this is the era where we have to reeducate and rewire the young generation on what is acceptable and what is not in relationships. I believe men ought to be steering the conversation towards zero tolerance for abuse.

      I certainly hope that these additional chapters will empower you and equip you towards your relationships. I pray and hope for that day where there will be zero deaths per week that stem from domestic violence.

      Always remember, you have an Uncommon Destiny and don’t let any common person, abuse you for any reason. By the same token, be respectful and don’t abuse anyone.

      CHAPTER 1: ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS AND PURPOSE

      Over the years, the last 20 years there has been such a push on the idea and the thought that we are not here on earth by accident. We have been created for a purpose and we all have different ‘callings’ etc. I subscribe to that principle. This is now the new mantra for every young and ambitious man and woman, no matter the religious background or affiliation. This has been seen across the planet with people getting hold of their purpose and hence seizing their destinies. Great records have been brought to amateur levels as people combine natural talent with proper effort and dedication. New records have been set in all fields, from medical to aviation and to the movie industry. This is remarkable to say the least.

      So the purpose doctrine has been well presented across the media. One of the famous purpose doctrine evangelists is DR Myles Munroe. One of the things that is quiet clear is that if one is going to have a long term relationship with someone, they need to ensure that the partner in question will help one’s dreams and purpose and not be a hindrance. One obviously needs someone who will not be curtailing their efforts to be who they are or be a limitation of any kind or in any form.

      One of the harsh realities that one has to deal with in terms of romance is that no matter how beautiful the girl is or no matter how ‘hot’ the guy is, if he or she is going to undermine your purpose or call, it’s only a matter of time before the relationship goes south. From the natural perspective we all get attracted to certain people for a number of reasons. Sometimes it can be reasons such as they are what we are not. For example somebody who has a passion for books might choose someone who is outgoing so that they can bring balance to the relationship. For e .g I am a very serious guy or deep guy and very much introverted in most occasions however I do have my moments to be ‘wild’ and ‘parte’ and I certainly can find someone who likes to visit the outdoors like parks ,travelling and scenery gazing fun to be with. So the reasons can be varied.

      However the core of the person is what really counts or can be the deal breaker. Some people one realises they are dangerously attractive from the outset, however from the core they can be a complete turn off! You know what I am talking about hey. One such thing can be that your ultimate ‘destination’ can be so at odds to the point that you will not ‘see’ a future in your eyes.

      One will have to be naive not to realise that romantic relationships have brought down many a great man and at times many great women have come undone because of a romantic relationship that went south. Should it be dubbed an affair or fling that’s not the issue, the deal of the matter is that it’s a romantic relationship that has brought one’s career to its knees. At the time of writing this book news keep coming of the first ever billionaire sportsman, golf ace Tiger Woods. His ‘discretions’ landed him in hot water with Uncle Sam and the world over. A staggering 14 ladies and mistresses have been mentioned in this whole scandal and the list has kept going North. At present it’s now official that the marriage of Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren is over. Again this has been a classic tale of money, power, fame and charisma being used to form a cocktail composed of drugs, insatiable sexual appetites and deceit. The results can only be ‘cancerous’, and the divorce has been long overdue. As we speak Tiger has just returned from an indefinite absence from golf. So his romantic relationships or alleged romantic relationships have certainly affected his purpose. Networks did lose money during his absence from the sport. His absence means the game is less appealing and advertisers will not be spending money on the sports channels that cover the game of golf during its season or in tournaments.

      Obviously now that he is divorced he is going to need time to adjust and find his way to the top too. As of late his game has not been that impressive. So this is brutally clear that in all the confusion and scandal that has prevailed over the last nine months he has lost time and been negatively impacted in his purpose. Isn’t it ironic that it’s the same purpose that took him to the stratosphere of golf, but his lack of character is almost taking him out of his purpose and realms of influence and affluence!!

      The essence of me raising this particular sports person is just to demonstrate how relationships can affect purpose, careers and industries!!! One of the things that would happen is that one would ultimately have to make a decision between purpose and relationship. Something ought to give.

      Whether we choose to accept it or not romantic relationships do affect people’s calling and purposes. From biblical times to present day times we have seen many men and women come down crushing because of wrong relationships. From the days of David in the bible and how he ‘hooked up’ with Bathsheba and from then everything went downhill.

      The same story applies to Samson and Delilah, Samson lost his power due to a wrong and dangerous romantic liaison with lady ‘De’. We then come to the modern day world, where we have the above mentioned golfer. Also a few years back we saw the famous ‘Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky’ saga.

      Now romantic relationships on the positive side can be so effective and can be destiny enhancers and purpose enablers, which is the ideal scenario. I will start off with the ultimate triumph to hit the world arena in 2009, America’s first ever black president, Barrack
