    Daily Reflections

    by Masami Saionji

Let us consciously live each moment, and unconsciously lead our lives in an unhurried manner.

    dr_design

Simply through its existence, our life force is doing tremendous work. It is our own thoughts that get in the way.

    dr_design

Our insight and discretion guide us on an unwavering path, but our knowledge runs the risk of leading us astray.

    dr_design

There has never been an age when true leaders are needed as much as they are now. The time has arrived when divinely conscious people will be welcomed in all fields as true leaders who point the way forward.

    dr_design

It is a waste of time to quibble over this and that. Use the time to pray, pray, and pray some more.

    dr_design

The creative power of divine words is the energy that gives rise to actual events.

    dr_design

Let us consciously dedicate our lives for the good of others, and unconsciously accumulate hidden spiritual treasures.

An Experience That Changed My Habits

Maki%20magazine.jpg Recently, I heard Masami Sensei¹ say: Just as what we eat creates our body, what we think creates our circumstances. If we consciously eat foods that are good for our body, we can keep our bodies relatively healthy. In the same way, what we think and feel from day to day determines whether positive or negative circumstances manifest in our lives.

I returned home that day with these words lingering in my mind. Upon seeing my youngest daughter, I recalled what it was like when I was nursing her. I have a sweet tooth, and I often have a late-night snack of chocolate or cake. Even after giving birth, I continued this habit of eating sweets late at night. And inevitably, the next day, my milk ducts would be clogged. Whenever I had a sweet snack late at night, it would have an adverse effect on my body the very next day. As I had this experience again and again, I was able to feel with all my senses what a fluid and delicate existence the body is. Then, for the first time, I understood—not in my head, but deep down inside—that the body really is in a constant state of change.

Our Thoughts Can Alter Our Circumstances

Remembering this experience gave me a deeper understanding of Masami Sensei’s words: Just as what we eat creates our body, what we think creates our circumstances. And, as her words and my own experience merged into one, I realized that my thoughts are changing my surroundings from moment to moment—that the thoughts I have now are creating the environment that I will encounter in the future, calling forth people and situations that fit with that environment. When I ate unhealthy foods, they quickly affected my body, sometimes causing pain or discomfort. In the same way, if we have thoughts of doubting ourselves, or become emotionally attached
