About this ebook

A Steamy Western Cowboy Romance

Brittany was the perfect daughter. Beautiful. Smart. Engaging. She had a goal in life and the plan in place to make them a reality. All the boys wanted her for their girlfriend and she knew how to use that to her advantage. Mama and Daddy thought she was as pure as the driven snow . And Brit wanted to keep it that way.

And then there was Misty. She was everything they’d done wrong. She had dreams just like her older sister, only they weren’t very clear at the moment. She wasn’t as adventurous as her sister and so she often didn’t get the guy. It’s a bit hard when you’re trying to be yourself and not what Mama and Daddy think you should be.

Jonah Montgomery needed a job. Unbeknownst to Misty, Daddy Reynolds invited Jonah to dinner to get to know him and introduce the new hand to the family. Brittany immediately turned on the charm while Misty silently watched and listened. It was the final straw when sweet sister Brittany hinted that she wanted some alone time with the so sexy new hand. Misty refused to fight over a man. So she did what she did best: she walked away. Walked away to the only beings who truly understood and loved her, the horses.

Jonah follows and they began to talk. He discovers that beneath that hard façade is a very beautiful and sensitive woman who just wanted to be loved. And Jonah was just the man to do it.

Sometimes an invitation to dinner with the family can earn you an unexpected desert.

I just can’t believe that George quit on me, Daddy said, shaking his head.

Well did he give you a reason, Charles? Mama asked as she took a sip of her tea.

Daddy snorted. He claims he found another, better paying job. He gestured with his fork angrily. What it was, Dirk caught him stealing. I’m not going to have that kind of thing going on here. This is a legitimate business and I’m not going to tolerate stealing. Maybe it’s better he left before I fired his ass.

I looked over at my sister Brittany who shrugged. So George was gone. Damn. I knew she was going to hate that. She kind of had a crush on him.

After dinner, I went into the room we shared and found her sprawled on the bed on her stomach. I watched her as I sat down on my own bed, tucking my feet under me.

George is gone, huh? I said.

Looks like it, she said. She rolled over and looked at me. I hate that. I’m going to miss him.

I frowned. Why? I picked up the magazine I’d been reading before dinner and thumbed through it. He’s just another of the many hands that Daddy hires throughout the year. Nothing special.

Brittany gave me a look. Nothing special?

I shrugged. He was really cute and all, I conceded. He had been cute with his sandy blond hair and dancing green eyes. Many times, Brittany and I had admired his body as he worked shirtless moving bales of hay or handling the horses.

Really cute. And a good kisser too.

I looked up at my sister. What?

She grinned. He was gifted with his tongue let’s just say.

Brit, is there something you’d like to tell me?

My sister rolled onto her stomach again, propping her chin in her hands. You know those times that I would go down to the barn? I told Mama and Daddy that I was going to go ridin’?

    I nodded.

Well, I took a ride. But it wasn’t on a horse.

    Damn! You slept with him?

She nodded. "And it was worth it. That’s why I’m a bit bummed that he was stealing and got
