      WHY I WROTE THIS BOOK AND WHO BENEFITS?

      This book is written for the blogger that is looking to enter the world of self-publishing. Recently, I attended a conference for bloggers and was shocked at how little was known by the blogging community about self-publishing. As a fiction writer who has self-published many books in the past I found myself being asked many of the same questions over and over again.

      I’ve been traditionally published in a variety of magazines, anthologies and newspapers over the years. I have also self-published many books and helped a number of friends on their own self-publishing adventures.

      The people I met at that conference not only inspired me and educated me about how to build my blog, but they also inspired this book. They were so helpful and open about wanting to help make my business a success, it ignited a passion in me to help them make this facet of their businesses a success. I see great potential for blogging businesses to expand and grow through the incorporation of effective self-publishing, I want to share my knowledge in the hopes of making their businesses more successful. Blogging is about building multiple income streams, and publishing books is a fantastic stream to develop in partnership with a blog.

      I would consider this book a primer and jumping off point. I want to give readers a solid foundation to start them on their publishing journey, but I always advise that in this rapidly changing industry that you do some reading and give this process the time and focus it requires to be done successfully. The advice included in this book will help bloggers get started on their publishing journey and will work well for most bloggers, but these approaches are far from the only way. There is so much more you can do in the publishing world, but first you need to get started and that is where I’m hoping all of my tips and tricks will help.

      It starts with just one step and my goal is to teach the fundamentals so that you can take the leap and build your brand - and your income - through the power of self-publishing. Once you successfully get your first book self-published, you can continue to learn and get more in-depth with your publishing journey if you desire, but everything you need to get started is in these pages.

      A Quick Note: This is not a traditional how-to self-publishing book, it has been written specifically for the blogger. With that in mind, I have offered advice on how to make your book successful without losing the main focus of your business, your blog. Many of us are individuals running very time consuming blogs that take a lot of consistent work and time. My goal through
