    Chapter 1

    What in the World

You should have seen her! Will Pen reminisced. Another broad from your college days? his investor buddy.

Ah, Delilah, she was from out of this world. Are you in fantasy land again, Samson?

Will: Think so? Then look at the monitor. They both did a heads up towards the NEWS Monitor over the Cafe Floor, in the Exchange Tower. They saw a flying saucer, apparently being chased by jets, somewhere in the North West Territories.

Is that another black project, I didn't know you invest in futuristic technology? I'm only in penny mining equities. said Will. Will was a full time fleet cabbie, part time Math student, and sometimes investor, in those days. They each gulped down their Ted's coffee, and headed to their respective jobs. One western province is home to the 4 Wing Glacier Bay Canadian Air Force Base. Top gun crews go there to compete for honours in their annual competitions. Hooray for Canada! But in 1979, there was a rumour that experimental craft also flew from there. Some speculated a Flying Saucer, from the 40s, was being tested by scientists, sons of those brought to North America under Project Paperclip. Most thought these saucers were either housed in Argentina, or of ET origin. Nonetheless, F-35 fighter jets had been scrambled out of the Glacier Bay to chase down that saucer with insignia Iron Cross, the Nazi symbol used by the Third Reich.

About 1,111 km south east was Winnipeg, Manitoba, and south east of the 'peg was St. Anne a small farming town. At Mach 3, the saucer chased by the 4 scrambled jets whizzed through that night sky, on that cold Fall evening. The jets fired on the saucer, but it evaded being hit despite the sky-torpedoes exploding all around it. The chase seemed to break off before the CFB jets were about to cross the American Border. NORAD jets would then be tasked to take over the chase.

    Chapter 2

    Night becomes Day

It has been said every person is born unique to fulfil a purpose. But as one’s life culminates in high strangeness, what would that one’s purpose and way to fulfil it be?

Port of St. Anne, is that right, sir? It is $50 cash upfront … company rules Will pumped out gleefully! In those days, when Will was a young cabdriver, that was a spectacular run even at night on a winter’s eve. On the Canadian prairies such out-of-town trips pose a challenge since the highways are usually icy and outside the wind chills to the bone.

That’s an Indian Reservation, isn’t it? Will asked his fare.

Near one! We’re Metis, half-breeds as the Reds, and Whites call us said this more fair than dark skinned man, maybe in his fifties.

Will sensed a potential problem with the fare, and Will tried to mitigate the situation, first using empathy. In this case it was particularly clever because Will viewed himself as a half breed too, and it would promote balance of diversity through harmony … universal principles in practice.

I am a half breed too, but the Browns and the Whites aren’t so generous with their names. They laughed together.

Then Will asked Why do you call the town a Port, when there’s no water here? From the days of my ancestors are legends of balls of light floating from sky to ground or vice versa. Some said the orbs were the souls departing for a better place, while others said the souls are coming to re-incarnate and teach us new ways. Portal would be a more appropriate term, but the Chiefs and Elders, because our funding comes from the Government, thought Port-of St. Anne sounded more rational.

They parted in friendship quickly, as Will had a long lonely drive home. Some call Will innocent, others call him naive, and still others gullible, but put simply Will was an optimist because he looked to the positive diversity in those he met.

It was about midnight when Will started his trip home. If he could arrive home at 1:00 AM, the time of last call in the pubs, he could work the pub rush and have an even better night. About a quarter hour into his lonely trip on that clear cold night with brisk wind, and little snow on the ground, an extraordinary event suddenly occurred.

There was flash, as from a laser, from the sky. Will's taxi had been pinpointed. By what and why? Then the really strange occurred.

Night became day, or so it seemed. It should have been dark, but suddenly it had become light, intensely white, and this day went with Will as he drove! Will's situation became more than a tease for his imagination.

When this situation erupted in curiosity, Will pulled the cab roadside. Stopped on the gravel shoulder, Will left the motor running with driver’s window open. In relative silence, Will got out to find the light source.

About 400 feet away, across a field Will saw a curtain of white and white-blue fluorescent soccer ball size lights glowing intensely from ground to sky, thousands of them, the same on each side. Will was not sure, but he didn’t recall looking straight up. Will felt no fear or trepidation, or need to flee. The situation was serene, and a curiously pleasant sensation overcame Will.

Who really has a sense of time in such situations. Will returned to driving home after about ten minutes or so it seemed, and soon it was a dark lonely night again. Will arrived in his home town at about 1:30 AM still in time for most of the pub rush. This was about 20 minutes later than expected. That was 20 minutes missing time.

"Proceeded by a mind's eye complex geometrical pattern, came an Out-of-Body-Experience (OBE), a vision? What ever it was, an incredibly beautiful woman appeared. A woman to love, marry, and be faithful to, to the end. Strangely though her skin was grey, but not from age. Alas, there might be a complication, as she appeared to have two young twin sons – one grey like his mom, one white like Will. Will never has been a fan of children, and especially if he would be responsible for their well being growing up!

Two decades later, in more liberal times, upon recollection of that incident, Will realized he had had 20 minutes or so of missing time, and as well he always looked straight up when outside in the night, as though checking for something.

What was the significance of that incident, and that vision, going forward?

    Chapter 3

    The Lecture

Toronto, Ontario is, in Will's opinion, a great cosmopolitan city. It has its great diversity, a social envelope of tolerance and harmony, that attracted Will to it two decades ago. Will was looking for meaning to his uniqueness, a purpose perhaps, and enough creature comforts to enjoy the ride. Will was admitted to a local university, obtained a taxi driver’s license, and began the next phase of his quest.

After settling in Toronto near that local university, he began driving taxi full time, more or less. One lazy Saturday morning his first trip was from the Dufferin Mall, a large shopping centre about 20 minutes from downtown. He was hailed by a young Caucasian lad, maybe 18 years old, approximately 5’4 tall with wavy auburn hair, in Army fatigues. It looked as though his army jeep was broken down. Will stopped his taxi and when the lad got in he said Please drive me quickly to the Stone Church near Bloor Street and Spadina Ave."

Yes sir, right away sir Will almost saluted. Usually Will was not so sarcastic but a young military guy apparently giving Will an order irked him.

So what’s happening at the church? Are you doing security work? Will continued a wee bit curious, though his voice was tinged with sarcasm.

"It’s a lecture on Exopolitics, the study of Extraterrestrials’ Influence on our World's politics and in this case
