    Final Thoughts

    Introduction

Are you tired of reading Bible studies by highly educated Christians that are full of content, but difficult to understand? I was too. That is why I wrote this down to earth, personable, easy to read and understand Bible study.

Call it a Bible study, commentary or daily devotional on the book of the Bible - Proverbs. After four years of reading and studying the entire Bible, I bring you these honest, thought provoking and sometimes controversial thoughts from me on the book of Proverbs, a book in the Old Testament of the Bible. It is not written by a Bible scholar, minister, missionary or even a teacher. It is not written by someone who is trying to impress the reader on how smart he is. No, it is written by a person you can relate to even more. It is written by a person who is someone like YOU. It is written in the style that you and I think and talk in. And it is also written in a conversational, easy to read style that is much more personable. I usually like to read no more than one chapter a day, but if there is a lot of good things in a chapter, I may take two days to get through one chapter. But do go through the scriptures at whatever speed you like. I’m not going to go over every little detail in every chapter, but rather give you a broad overview and voice my opinions on some of scriptures.

Most of the writing of Proverbs is attributed to Solomon, who we know as a King of Israel. A man who loved and served God in his early years and was given great wisdom by God. In fact, he was considered the smartest man in the entire world at that time! Then in his later years he went astray. There is much to admire about Solomon, before he went astray from God and his faith in God. So join me as we read the very interesting book of Proverbs.

I’d love to hear your thoughts about the scriptures as we study this together. So if you ever want to share your thoughts with me, you can email me at ABibleStudyWithSomeoneLikeYou@outlook.com

Chapter 1: Purpose and Theme of Proverbs

The purpose of this book was for attaining wisdom, discipline, understanding words of insight, knowledge, discretion, guidance, and to have a fear of the Lord. I could benefit a lot from learning these things, how about you? Can you imagine how much better our lives would be if we had more of these qualities in our life? It also says that the wise will listen and add to their learning. That reminds me of the old saying that
