    The Understanding - Rhodie Hall

    Attack

    Chapter One

    The Beginning of the Mission

Glory knew she had made the right choice. After researching scripture for decades, she knew that this was a question that only the Creator could answer. She sighed. Glory had thought of this matter so very often, she was sure that HE already knew what Glory was having trouble understanding. Quietly, Glory nodded and rose off her seat and closed her copy of the Word. She began to walk slowly toward the Holy Tabernacle. It was against the rules to go ask HIM. Angels were supposed to find the answers by researching scripture and discussing things with each other. This was the way of the ages. As Glory slowly walked toward the sanctuary, she could feel her feathers twitch from the nervousness of being so bold. This simply wasn’t done…only the Chosen were allowed to talk directly with HIM.

Glory felt the cold white marble under her feet beginning to warm as she moved forward. She measured her steps carefully, nervously quivering, like a bride walking down the aisle on her wedding day. As she drew closer, she began to feel the pull in her tummy. This surprised her. She had never felt this before. She knew from the talk between the angels, this must be the Summoning. That confused Glory…why would HE summon her directly? Glory wasn’t special, she was just a voice in the Holy Choir.

As Glory walked closer, she began to feel the energy flow through her tummy area and radiate throughout her being. It surprised her when she began to feel a soft tingle that turned to a vibration causing her wings to flutter constantly. The joy was filling her so completely that she began to smile, she couldn’t help it. Glory was beginning to glow all over. She kept walking forward following that intense magnetic pull.

Glory knew from seeing the Chosen ones after they had been in counsel with HIM that the glow would last for several days after their meeting. Everyone would know she had sought counsel with HIM and breached the rules. Still, she did not falter, her resolve to speak with HIM was all consuming, whatever the cost…she needed her answer.

Suddenly, Glory was surrounded with a brilliant white light that was so warm and sweet that she felt like she was no longer herself. She was still able to think her own thoughts, but she could not see anything but white, and all feeling of the vibration and pulling was gone. Glory felt so much happiness and love that she felt nothing else. Yet, somewhere deep inside her, she still had that one question. Although, now the question felt disconnected, small, abstract…very distant.

That was Glory’s thought when she heard the voice of HIM. It was everywhere. She was everywhere. It resonated and permeated everything. The voice said, My child, I know why you need to have your answer. We have all been working on this problem since the beginning. It cannot be explained, it must be experienced to understand.

Glory formed one word in her mind, why?

That is when she heard HIM say, will you be the one to go forward. Will you sacrifice your being for the purpose?

Glory felt no hesitation when she answered, I love you, Almighty Creator. All that I am is because of you. All that I will be is because of you. Your will be done through me. I am eager to serve your purpose. I doubt that I am worthy of this task. Are there not some of the Chosen ones that are better trained and more worthy?

Glory felt and heard a deep sigh full of patience and love. Then she heard, faith, courage and strength are everywhere. Humbleness and childlike love are not. YOU have become a Chosen one. THE Chosen One. Since my Son went and before he will go again, YOU are the one. All of the work will cease and we shall all observe. There will be a quiet time here and in the realm of the opposition while you work you mission. I will be with you…and nothing else will interfere while you experience for us all. Go forth and BE….

    Chapter Two

    The Vessel

At that moment, Glory found herself walking in a meadow wearing a soft cotton white gown. She had sandals on her feet and could feel the heaviness and awkwardness of this new vessel that her being had been put in. Everything around her, she felt, smelled, sensed, tasted, and could see. Glory could feel the amazing warmth of the sun, the coolness of the breeze, the sweetness of the wildflowers saturating the air. She could still feel HIM and hear HIM inside her. Each item she looked at, words would spring into her head. This was very strange indeed.

Glory heard the words, walk…walk with me to our shelter they have prepared. Glory walked through the meadow. She saw deer, rabbits, birds, bees…and so many different life forms, the names of each sprung into her head. Each had their own vibration and each had a purpose. Glory felt the love for everything. Scripture came to mind, All things great and small… She smiled. Glory walked for hours, days, never too hot or too cold, eating whatever she found along the way that HE told her was good and acceptable to eat. Eventually, she came to a building. When she entered through the rock fence and heavy wooden gate, the people inside stopped and stared at her. Glory smiled and HE told her, this is one of my houses. Go in… help them.

Glory went into the building and walked down the rock floored hallway toward a room with a light on the right hand side of the end of the hallway. She barely noticed anything of her surroundings. She heard hushed voices in several languages. They were all praying to HIM. Glory walked into the room and saw a small child lying on a bed. He was a beautiful soul. He was in a vessel of dark skin, brown eyes, and very white teeth. The boy may have been 4 years old, but not much older. Glory heard the words, Go forth and do my will.

The people in the room stopped praying. Glory could feel their fear, disdain, incomprehension, and protectiveness. She smiled gently as the words for each language sprung forth from HIM through her lips to their ears. All present were surprised and overwhelmed. Glory simply nodded and walked over to the boy. She leaned down and kissed his forehead with all the love of God flowing through her. She felt a warm vibration that she remembered feeling as she had walked toward HIM the day they had spoken. Glory didn’t know it, but she had begun to glow and so had the boy. In those few moments of that gentle loving kiss on the forehead, the people in the room witnessed the boy’s body healing and life flowing forth. Glory sat down on the bed next to the boy and helped him sit up. His beautiful dark eyes and skin shone like polished ebony and his smile radiated God’s love. The boy hugged Glory and for the moment that they held each other, the whole room glowed, then, slowly went back to normal. Glory and the boy both felt God and were one with Him in that moment.

After the hug, Glory helped the boy out of his deathbed. She walked him around to each person and spoke to them in their language. God’s words poured forth explaining that the glory and credit was all for God and it was him who healed the boy for a purpose. That each person was special to God, and God loved them all. It was important for their mission that the multitudes not know about her role in the healing or who the boy was that had been healed. In turn, Glory and the boy hugged each person that was in that room who had witnessed the power of God. God gave them each a gift that day. They were healed of their ailments and they received the KNOWING. This was a gift that God gave to people for the furthering of his purpose. It enabled them to know small things to keep them safe as they worked on his mission.

The people all left one by one and went back to their native lands. The boy grew up in that monastery and became a King in his land.

Many years passed. Glory worked in this place and that, bringing God’s message and healing forth when HE commanded. Glory experienced the good and bad around her in many different lands over time. Glory felt the eras of darkness and enlightenment. She saw many babies born and many people pass on. Glory loved the sweetness and simple love she felt from the babies. This was before they had learned the harshness of the world.

Then came the day that Glory had been taken on board a ship and the men were most foul. There was no love of God or anything but greed, darkness, and filth. The bad men had taken the King, his family, and tribe’s people. They were locked in the bottom of the cold, dark, filthy ship. They were mistreated. They were becoming ill. The king told his son, quietly, the secret of his healing as a small child. The boy listened with wonder. Within a few days, the King’s people began to die. Glory knew that God was still with them, she did not understand why he allowed this to happen. She heard his answer in her soul, it must be for the purpose of their missions. They chose to have this role in the plan. YOU will be the one who sees. Glory was angry and confused, though she loved God, she was doubting the fairness of it all. He knew and said, I will not leave you. I will be silent for a time for you to understand more.

Then, there came a horrible storm. Glory heard God. He told her to go and release the King and his people and let them escape. Glory did this.

She helped the King, his son, and wife into a little boat and pushed it out away from the ship. The tribe’s people jumped and swam the rough seas toward the island that Glory knew was close. Glory was told to stand on the bow of the ship and to face to bad men in the storm. She did. God told her, close your eyes and open your mouth. Do not open your eyes until I tell you. Glory did this and the wrath of God poured forth. When Glory heard God tell her, Now! She opened her eyes and closed her mouth and felt the icy cold salt water cover her and throw her in the currents. Her lungs burned and she gasped. Suddenly, in the dark, she was pitched onto the sand of a beach. She felt the sun beginning to come up and warm the sand. She was exhausted, so she slept.

    Chapter 3

    Island Inhabitation

When Glory awoke, it was to the sound of wailing. She felt hands lift her and carry her to a pile of soft ferns under heavy lush greenery. The people had begun to assemble and to sift and sort. The bad men that had been washed up on the beach had been piled atop each other on a pile of rock. The dead tribe’s people were being carried onto the island and buried with prayer said over them. The sick or injured were being laid upon the shaded greenery just above the beach. The king was still alive and was taking care of them all. Glory went to the people who were wailing and comforted them with the word of God.

In time, the tribe’s people became accustomed to their new place that God had given them. They never quit believing in Him. It was many years later when the King’s son had become a King and was very old. He had one son and was dying when he was about to pass the monarchy off to his son. Again, bad men came to them and enslaved them. They were taken by ship to a new world. The men were not as bad as the first ship’s men had been all those years before. Some of them even prayed to God. They were prideful though and thought they were better than others because of such silly things as wealth, social standing, favor of their government, and even skin color. God was not pleased with them, but He loved them too. He was patient and used Glory to help make changes. I was slow progress, but it was worth it.

The ship’s men told tales of ships long ago that had taken a woman on board who turned out to be the demise of all but one of the crewmen. He had been allowed to live to tell what happens when you mistreat people.

Then the stories changed to how bad it was to mistreat a woman on a ship. Of course, over time, the tales had been changed again to say that women were bad luck on ships. Glory smiled knowing smiles when she heard these tales. God had showed His wrath back then. Men changed. It had been a long time ago. Men were becoming stupid and prideful. They were forgetting what was important again. Glory began to understand how patient and kind God was toward men, even when they continuously turned against and distorted HIM. Glory felt His pain and cried often for Him.

    Chapter Four

    Darker Times

It was coming into another dark time. Glory could feel it. She felt tired at how often men felt like war was more important than life. Glory was seen in so many places, by so many different people these days. Everyone was suspicious of her and everyone was full of contention, greed, selfishness, and hypocrisy. Slavery and cruelty was acceptable these days. The voice of God was Glory’s only comfort as she witnessed the ugliness of so many. What amazed Glory most was how so many could pray to God and then mistreat each other or put on airs of superiority and parade it under the word, Christianity. God knew each of them. They could not fool Him. He created them all. He loved them all. It didn’t make sense to Glory that people could distort even the word of God and spend endless amounts of time being ugly to each other over their religious beliefs. God finally spoke to Glory again. He said, there is going to be a war here soon. Do not interfere. Only observe. We must be sure that man still can love each other before they come to me in prayer. Then I will instruct you. I am still here. Go to the mountains, the mountains in the far west that have snow on top. Stay there. Learn from the Natives and the animals.

So, Glory went. While she stayed in the mountains, she heard of the great
