About this ebook
“(Hap Arnold was) a dedicated officer in a specialized field,...and at the same time, a human being, a warm-hearted, loyal, mercurial, flamboyantly belligerent fellow who didn't care who he took on in battle.”—Robert A. Lovett
General H. H. “Hap” Arnold
Henry Harley “Hap” Arnold was an American general officer holding the grades of General of the Army and General of the Air Force. Arnold was an aviation pioneer, Chief of the Air Corps (1938-1941), Commanding General of the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II, the only U.S. Air Force general to ever hold five-star rank, and the only officer to ever hold a five-star rank in two different U.S. military services.
