I began to restrict my food intake in an attempt to control something in my life when everything around me felt out of control. It wasn't long until I had to admit I had anorexia. Hopeless, afraid, and angry with God, I lived in bondage to this eating disorder for six years. I spent much of that time giving up and giving in to the eating disorder. But through this experience, I learned to change my thoughts and express my emotions, which were two keys in my recovery. On top of that, I experienced God's love and grace in a new way. Read about how he pursued me and helped me recover in spite of how I treated him.

Laurie Glass has a Master's Degree in Christian Counseling and is an author and recovered anorexic. She's passionate about creating faith-based resources for those with eating disorders. Through her website, Freedom from Eating Disorders (http://freedomfromed.com), she offers the Christian Eating Disorder Recovery Course, note cards, a free quarterly newsletter, recovery stories, helpful articles, and so much more. Laurie has also had several poems and articles published in both print and online publications. In addition, she was quoted in the April, 2012 issue of Women's Health Magazine in an article entitled The Scary Rise of Adult Eating Disorders.
