About this ebook
Jose Froilan Gonzalez was eleven years younger than his more famous countryman, Juan Manuel Fangio. Both were Formula 1 and sports car drivers in the heyday of Formula 1 racing, the 1950s. Fangio and Gonzalez each profited from the dictatorial regime of Argentine strongman Juan Peron. In fact Fangio was permitted by Peron to import pricey cars that he made great profits on. Gonzalez, on the other hand, was the beneficiary of a trucking business that his family ran in Buenos Aires. The money from the business enable "Pepito", as Jose' was called, enter the international racing world as a competitor.

Jose Froilan Pepito Gonzalez (October 5, 1922-June 15, 2013) and Juan Manuel Fangio Deramo (June 24, 1911-July 17, 1995), race car drivers, were named on a degree issued in Buenos Aires on December 26, 1955.The action listed 72 corporations and 242 individuals in a degree that was issued on December 9th. The names listed were suspected of unjustified enrichment under ex-President Juan Domingo Peron's (October 8, 1895-July 1, 1974) regime.
Fangio's auto and mechanical firms and an automobile company owned by
Gonzalez made the list of names. A Kaiser auto manufacturing plant was being built in Cordoba, Argentina in association with Juan Peron's government. The car company had entered into an agreement in cooperation with the Peron regime to manufacture cars, trucks and jeeps in Argentina. Juan Peron was greatly pleased that Fangio's fame was recognized worldwide. To
