    All is not well in Underland. Claire Stone is being taught magic. The Establishment is not happy about this, and unpleasant things start to happen around Claire.

    Human Observers are being replaced by Grenlix, crafty and untrusted citizens of Underland. Worse, humans fighting in the Special Facilities Unit are losing their memories, and the ability to jump into Underland. There are barely enough left to keep our world safe from the invasion of Morphs.

    The powers that be are not happy when Claire starts to poke her nose into what's behind the missing memories, and even less happy about her being taught magic. Humans are not supposed to be able work with magic, so how can she? And why does her magic seem different to the sort everybody else uses?

    Claire digs her way to the real reasons behind it all, and prevents a terrible plan from destroying Underland – but at an horrific personal cost.
