    April 31st, 1938, in the prison yard at Iron Mountain Women’s Correctional Facilities, MI.

    I’m sick and tired of the way they work us around here, Mildred Potts said to her cellmate and friend.

    Yeah, and the terrible food! Luz Richer said. They feed us shit! And how come those fat matrons don’t do something about it?
