When the case heats up again, Leslie returns to the States—and to Frank—but their investigation is complicated by their tumultuous feelings. Is it possible for two dedicated detectives to pursue each other while they’re tracking down stolen art and the unscrupulous man who steals it?

Is it possible for two dedicated detectives to pursue each other while they’re tracking down stolen art and the unscrupulous man who steals it?Review: Artistic Pursuits by Andrew Grey was an entirely different read from my normal scope, but enjoyable. In order to provide a comprehensive and thorough review, I’m going to touch on a few different points in the book. The plot grabbed my attention and held it throughout. It’s an entirely new and fresh idea. The author gives you a different story to read, one unlike any other on the market. The characters are intriguing and Mr. Grey helps you get in their heads in order to understand just what they are thinking, feeling, seeing. The conflict throughout the book was great and kept the story going and the reader enticed. The ending wrapped it up, leaving no questions unasked and provided the reader with an opportunity to watch the Happily Ever After. Unlike some books, it wasn’t rushed and was set and delivered great. The second part of the review I want to touch on though is the writing. This book was very descriptive, which is a great format; however, there were times I felt as though the author was telling us the story rather than showing us. There were also times that I felt as though things could have been left out such as a character going through mundane actions. Those actions didn’t add anything to the overall story and could have been left out, giving me (or the reader) less frustration and a better story. The book, while sitting at a novel length now, could have easily been a novella with extra words taken out and would have been a great read still.Still the read was a good one, just took some time to get through due to the frustration I felt going through extra things that didn’t need to be in it. I give it three stars out of five and look forward to Mr. Grey’s future works.
