About this ebook

Six years ago, Noah Wheeler went to meet his boyfriend, Dante Cerreto, at the airport, and his world ended. Dante was kissing someone else and claimed to be in love. So Noah took his heartbreak—and the sonogram pictures of their surrogate child—and closed the door on the big picture of what he thought his life would be, focusing instead on the piece of the dream he got to keep, being a father.

Now on vacation in Las Vegas, Noah accidentally runs into the Cerreto family, and then the man himself, and learns that not only was he deceived, but Dante was as well. Now Dante wants to make up for lost time, six years’ worth, and to do that he needs Noah, the only man he’s ever loved, and Grace, the daughter he didn’t know he had, to give him a chance at happiness. Dante’s going to have to take a crash course in communication and seduction, though. Noah’s not going to fall in love just to be broken again.

This was a sweet love story, there is a bit of sadness, humour and love in this story. Mary Calmes is great story teller. My only problem with it was it was to short it felt a bit rushed at the end, and I would of enjoyed more story line around the ending. I can't say to much more without giving the ending away.

Overall, a cute short story, perfect for light afternoon reading. As many books are in the romance genre, Again is a little cliché, but that isn't a bad thing in a story like this, because really, with a happy ending, what more could you ask for?

3.5 Stars I liked it, but her characters are all starting to morph into the same couple for me.

Noah and Dante have been together for a number of years but apart for 6 months at the start of the book. Dante has been undercover for the CIA for that time and Noah hasn't been able to contact him to tell him that his sister agreed to carry a child (her egg, Dante's sperm) for them and they were having a baby. When he meets Dante at the airport, he is kissing his (female) CIA partner and tells Noah that he's in love and can't be with him anymore. (It's not quite what you think but close.) The set up is improbable (there was a little bit of eye-rolling going on). BUT, the rest of the story, the characters, the dialogue, the little girl, the sex, was EXCELLENT that, I forgave it. Recommended. Just go with it - it's worth it

Look, I can't even remember the main characters' names. That probably says as much as needs to be said about this book.(Okay, I scrolled through the reviews here and now know that the characters' names are Dante and Noah. I feel more prepared to review this now.)So Dante was an undercover CIA agent, and six years ago, Noah went to pick up his husband at the airport, only to be told by Dante that he was in love with his (female) partner and their marriage is over. Dante sends Noah dissolution papers, which Noah signs. Noah does attempt to get in touch with Dante through various means - his family (who have all picked up and left without a forwarding address), Dante (changed his number and no one answered the emergency contact lines), and Dante's handler (who said yep, Dante is over him, time to move on Noah). The one kink in the plan is that Noah's sister had already decided to be Noah and Dante's surrogate, and she's pregnant with their baby when everything goes down, so Dante has no idea that he has a daughter - and Noah's okay with that. But hold on - they run into one another in Las Vegas (even though NEITHER OF THEM live in Vegas or are really even CLOSE to Vegas - argh, I hate this "convenient run in with astronomical chances of actually happening" trope) and Dante discovers that they have a kid. And Noah discovers that Dante's handler just totally threw him under the bus in an attempt to keep him in the CIA for a few more years (Dante has left the CIA anyway by this point and now lives in Maine). What the fuck. This...makes no sense at all.And even though they haven't seen each other in six years, they just kind of fall back into their places. Dante wants his ex and their kid back, and he pretty much tells them that is what is going to happen and they're going to move out on Maine. Noah doesn't get really much choice in the matter. Noah eventually does end up putting his foot down mildly, but he was such a weak character who let Dante just upend his life out of the blue. And for what? Sure, they were happy together six years ago, but a lot can change in six years. A lot has OBVIOUSLY changed for them - Noah has been raising a little girl on his own, Dante has left the CIA and now owns an inn or B&B or something (don't care to look it up), etc. Sure, it was good six years ago - but would it be good NOW, when they are so different and in such different places in their lives? I am uncertain. One last thing that pissed me off - Noah gets upset that his sort-of guy (who isn't seeing him monogamously anyway, which Noah is aware of quite clearly) is having sex with someone else. EVEN THOUGH NOAH HAD HAD SEX WITH DANTE BEFORE BREAKING UP WITH THIS GUY JUST AN HOUR OR SO PRIOR. But it's okay, I guess, since Noah and Dante are in true wuv. Those other guys though? The cheating is there to show how "bad" he is for Noah. MEH on this book.

JFC, Noah has the worst taste in men. Both Dante and Keith are utter assholes: Keith fucks around on him and Dante steamrolls him and treats him like a possession. Grow a spine, Noah. Get yourself and Grace as far away from them as possible.
