About this ebook

This very personal collection covers the second period of the author’s time in Australia, the majority of which was spent in the Rainforests and less-visited Outback, away from the more established tourist haunts of the Queensland coast.
Join the author’s personal highs and lows as he describes a mammoth road-trip in his own, inimitable way through titles such as The Red Centre, Flip-flops in the Night, and Leopard Skin Sheets...
From comedy to the despair of a fairly major mid-life crisis (and back again), Dreaming is one man’s growth through his experiences on the road.

    Introduction

OUTBACK DREAMING contains five separate collections, continuing my journey from the moment I left Bundy to seven months later when my visa ran out and I was forced to wave an emotional goodbye to the land of Oz.

Those months saw me travel thousands of kilometres and traverse some of the most beautiful - and desolate – landscapes in the World. From an East coast island to the red centre, deserts and Croc country, it was a journey I’ll never forget.

    WALKABOUT

    Introduction

Two months in Bundaberg? Enough! Time to go Walkabout. I visited a childhood friend just down the coast to wean myself away from the safety of the known and after a short time there, nipping over to Fraser Island in the meantime, I decided it was time I headed out to Alice, and to Uluru...

Still making it up as I went along, I left the Red Centre after ten marvellous days, just as the rains came to the desert. Touching down in Cairns, I had to make a decision on which way to go next.

Joining a group of friends camping won over diving on the Reef and so after a few days of the mangroves of the tropical North I found myself on a bus headed South, to Clowd City…
