What Happens at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ?
()
About this ebook
This book was inspired by a quiet personal experience and a lively discussion in Sunday school one morning. The question is one that is being asked and discussed by an ever growing number of people around the world, people of many different beliefs, even people who consider themselves non-believers yet can't help but secretly wonder what will ultimately befall mankind. What happens at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ? Where can we look for reliable answers in a world rife with all sorts of clamoring and misconceptions? Is the Bible all the word of God, or is there more? Does God not speak to us through living prophets in our troubled times? Surely, God has not left us with only one witness in the most perilous of times. Would he not offset the mounting tribulations of our day by providing us with an outpouring of revelation and guidance through modern day prophets and apostles?
Ilyan Kei Lavanway
Ilyan Kei Lavanway is a proliferate yet undiscovered and unheralded Christian author. He served as a full-time missionary for two years in Argentina for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1986-1988. Since 2005, he has written and published over two dozen books of various lengths, ranging from a few pages to almost five-hundred pages. His education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Washington, Seattle, and a Master of Science degree in Space Studies from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks.Mr. Lavanway is married and has an autistic son who has Down's syndrome. Mr. Lavanway grew up in Wenatchee and Waterville, Washington State. He is the oldest of nine siblings, seven of whom are living. He spent his high school summers driving wheat trucks and combines during harvest, earning cash to support his first love, the love of flight. He was an avid private pilot in his teens.Ironically, for all his love of aviation, Mr. Lavanway's fourteen years in the United States Air Force never landed him a flight crew assignment. Nope. He was kicking it subterranean school in a capsule beneath the North Dakota plains as an ICBM launch officer for his first four years of service, followed by a year of really uninteresting work in a vault, on base. His next two years took him up near the Canadian border, to the giant, phased array space surveillance and early warning radar site outside Cavalier, North Dakota. Then, he was off to California. Academic assignments filled the final seven years of his military service. By the time he was medically retired from active duty, he had discovered his passion for writing.Since life has thrown him a few curves that make it impractical for him to return to flying airplanes any time soon, he has poured his heart into the written word.Mr. Lavanway feels he has a God-given gift and responsibility to express eternal principles that will point sincere readers to the scriptures, to the living apostles, to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and ultimately to a personal relationship with God the Father, and with God's Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, and with the Holy Ghost.

A Sunday School Experience
An enthusiastic discussion during Sunday school the day of 6 March 2016 at Victorias First Ward, Cadiz Philippines Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints influenced me to write and compile this work. I am blessed and privileged to be attending a ward with so many faithful fellow Christians who desire to study and ponder and discuss the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness.
At the beginning of the discussion, the class instructor, Sister Jessica Doloyas Sipe Bornales, asked me if I could help the class with the question being addressed. I pondered it for a while and tried to find some relevant scriptural references. In the time allotted, the only scripture I could find was Doctrine and Covenants 88:96-98, which I pondered silently.
As conversations developed, Patriarch Jose Pana Zulueta, seated near me, quietly suggested to me that I might contribute some clarification to the subject of interest. That second prompting, coming through the Patriarch at the very end of the class period, felt to me as if it were an assignment from the Lord. I had already been feeling some strong impressions regarding the matter at hand, but had thus far remained silent.
While I share a keen interest in topics of the Last Days, I do not have a perfect understanding of all things. I am learning along with everyone else. I suppose, at some point, each and every son and daughter of God must develop an active interest in these topics, given the fact that we are living in the Last Days.
To thoroughly follow up on the question, I prayerfully write and compile this work, having abundant
