About this ebook

Collars and Cuffs: Book Four

Recently returned to the UK after living in the States since he was eleven, Andrew Barrett is determined to keep busy and make a new life for himself. He works full time as a copywriter and strips at a club on Canal Street on weekends. But it still leaves him too much time to think. Then he finds the BDSM club, Collars & Cuffs, where at twenty-nine, he is their youngest Dom. Young doesn’t mean inexperienced, however. All this activity keeps him focused with no time to dwell on the past. But the past has a way of intruding on the present.

It’s been four long years since Gareth Michaels last set foot inside Collars & Cuffs. But when he finally summons his courage and steps back into his former world, he finds the man who drove him away is still a member, and what's more, he wants Gareth back. Two men in pain need the freedom they find in each other, but it takes another man’s horrific plans to make them see it.

Very different from the previous three books in the series, this fourth volume is about two men building a relationship without BDSM at the center of it. Yes, BDSM plays a role, and Andrew is a Dom. But neither is the primary reason these men get together, at least not initially. It was interesting to see their interplay and how they incorporated BDSM in the end, but at the core of this story is Andrew and how he deals with his life, especially when Gareth comes into the picture. I liked how they started out as friends and took the time to develop their relationship.

Andrew may only be twenty-nine, but he has good experience as a Dom and a “great way with knots”. Shibari is his thing, and he uses it to great advantage. It also means his approach to BDSM isn’t necessarily sexual, and that works well when he meets Gareth. Involvement is not high on his list due to his past, but Gareth sort of sneaks in. Very well done!

Gareth is a man who needs rules to help him deal with life, but the man he as been looking to previously turned out to be a total bast*ard, so Gareth is understandably hesitant. And when the “ghost” from his past he was afraid of comes back to haunt him, it’s all hands on deck for the guys from Collars & Cuffs. I love how they’re all there to help, and how Gareth realizes not all Doms are like the one who haunts him.

If you like the Collars & Cuffs series and its slightly differing style from book to book, if you enjoy stories where the relationships develops slowly, and if you’re looking for a read with great tension and lots of hot man-on-man action, the you will probably enjoy this novel.
