About this ebook

College friends Joon, Tae, and Sangsun parted ways after an aborted attempt at a threesome. Ten years later, life has carried them down very different paths, but Joon misses his friends and decides to invite them to his home in South Korea for Christmas. He believes they belong together, but convincing the others to defy tradition and try again will take faith, hope, and a lot of talking—especially since all three of them are still in the closet.

Three Wise Men - Connie Bailey

    Three Wise Men

JOON PUT the last breakfast dish in the rack to dry and managed to wait almost three seconds before he walked to the front window. Outside, the snow floated down in small flakes, adding to the light dusting of white already on the ground. It was negative five degrees out there, but in Joon’s small house with its heated wooden floors, it was cozy and warm—but that warmth did nothing to settle his nerves.

Tae and Sangsun arrived today, and Joon had been on pins and needles all morning. He’d deliberated, agonized, and worried for months about the decision to invite them both to spend Christmas with him. He had been excited and terrified when they accepted the invitation.

The sound of a motorcycle engine revving jolted Joon from his trance. The noise cut off abruptly, and he realized the bike had stopped at his house. After ten years of separation, he was unable to wait any longer. He ran to the door and stepped outside. In his unused driveway sat a bright red Hyosung GT. The tall man taking off his helmet looked up and met Joon’s eyes. Even without the uniform, Joon would have known him in an instant.

"Tae-ah!" Joon called out as he trotted across the small front lawn.

Tae’s expression changed from a professional soldier’s half frown of cool competency into the broad grin of a little boy about to dig into his birthday cake. A delighted laugh broke free as he opened his arms wide and caught Joon in a tight hug. Joon wrapped his arms around Tae and hugged back with equal warmth. Too soon, Tae let him go with a chuckle and a remark about not wanting to become the talk of the neighborhood.

Let’s get inside, then, Joon said. Need any help with bags?

For a couple of days? Tae laughed again. This is all I need, he said, taking a small duffel from the motorcycle’s saddlebag.

What if we’re snowed in? Joon joked as he held open the front door while Tae removed his boots.

I’ll wash my lingerie in the sink, Tae joked back as he stepped inside in his socks. He stopped at the end of the short foyer and looked around.
