About this ebook

The second part of Masami Saionji's article "The Immense Power of the Divine Breathing Method" discusses breathing as an act of prayer, and how a greater awareness of our breathing helps us to transcend the various barriers and restrictions that we perceive in our life. Rika Saionji's article follows up on this topic, presenting the divine breathing method as a way of letting go of our ego. Also features "The Harmonizing Influence of the Fuji Declaration" by Tomohiko Naya, "A New Way of Living" by Maki Saionji, an interview with Ms. Eva Szauter, and a report on Masami Saionji's participation at a UN World Interfaith Harmony Week event.

    Daily Reflections

    by Masami Saionji

Positive choices invariably lead to positive outcomes in the end.

    dr_design

Stop telling yourself, I must do this, forcing yourself into a sense of obligation and restriction. A radiant life will open up for you when you set yourself free.

    dr_design

For each of us, there are endeavors that suit us and endeavors that do not suit us. It is a waste of time, money, anguish, and toil to work away at something we are not suited for.

    dr_design

No matter how long you wait, the perfect opportunity may never arrive. The best time to make a change in your life is right now.

    dr_design

People are always caught up in the notion of lack and insufficiency. Even when they have something, they think, It’s not enough; I want more. If we could be grateful for what we have, this thirst for what we think we lack would disappear.

    dr_design

Do not bother deliberating over whether you are happy or unhappy. If you live your life believing in happiness, happiness will definitely come to you.

    dr_design

The more prayers we accumulate, the more perfectly we are guided to make the best choices in each and every moment.

Maki%20magazine.jpg 2015 saw the outbreak or intensification of a wide range of problems, from natural disasters and environmental pollution to refugee issues, conflicts, and wars. It was enough to unsettle our hearts and minds. I myself was brought to tears many times when watching the TV news or reading news articles. Why do these things keep happening? I asked myself. However, the only conclusion I could come to was that I had no clear answer.

We have, I believe, embarked on an age when each of us needs to face up to the things we have done up to now. We have entered an era in which we will move away from seeing our own happiness as separate from the happiness of others. It is not our country, our society, our parents, or our friends who need to make this change, but we ourselves—each and every one of us. The time has come, I feel, for all of us to realize
