About this ebook

A collection of stories (1 Novelette & 4 short stories) that precede the events of the Traveller who is said to become the next Master of the Matter-Fabric. He alone would be the light in times of Darkness whilst he battled against another whom would seek to rule over the universe on the edge of the collapse of reality.

Stories include: The Khalazaran Prophecy, The Broken Worlds, Trensgar, Ghezar's Last, The Summoner's Run and the Foretelling.

THE KHALAZARAN PROPHECY
Well before the Traveller was foretold to take the seat as a Master of the Matter-Fabric there were those who came together to protect time and space. Together the Bearers were formed through a series of challenges in the Serilion, a tournament to determine those worthy enough to protect the Matter-Fabric.

THE BROKEN WORLDS
In the outer-universe where Infinites roam Serg is left alone in his tower where he has recorded the universe for over six centuries and when a group of unexpected guests arrive from the universe itself, Serg is persuaded to enter reality, an act forbidden by his people. There he finds that the universe is soon to come crashing down and he must warn the Supreme High Council but will the Infinites be persuaded to disband tradition and aid the universe in the oncoming calamity or will Serg be faced with the consequences of leaving a Timeless Field?

GHEZAR'S LAST
Within Anselopha, the other half of Earth, live beings who possess supernatural powers. After many failed Serilions those in the High Authority are desperate to have another Master fill the seat but with the line of Bearers decreasing the world is slowly covering in Darkness and before long the War of the Masters will be upon them.

THE SUMMONER'S RUN
After fleeing his homeland, Olden Gray has illegally crossed into the Continuverse (worlds within Earth and Anselopha) to search for potential Bearers to take part in the next Serilion yet, upon his return home, the unimaginable happens and Olden is thrust into a position that he wishes was not his burden to carry.

THE FORETELLING
Legend spoke of the Lost Six who were scattered across time during the First Serilion, since then they have been trapped in someplace and plan their inevitable return.

***SYNOPSIS***
In various points throughout the universe, a set of alternate dimensions known as Timeless Fields exist. Infinites have been the only beings to have lived within them.

Though no one has actually seen an Infinite or even had any knowledge of them, they have been around for countless of centuries, in the wake of many existences.

Since the beginning, Time has depended on the Heavenly Rays of Tohcay to beam, in order to blaze the Timely Flares and spout out the source of 3Circle energy, shifting it across the entire Matter-Fabric, burning in its endless rage.

Not until Time showed signs of deteriorating, had those in the worlds outside Timeless Fields taken up the responsibility to preserve its natural state.

The Matter-Fabric’s first Bearers had surfaced to rule as the authority that governed a Nation to protect Time against those who would cause it harm.

For hundreds of years the Bearers enforced Continumental Law over the whole of the universe, yet efforts to thwart any lasting damage to the continuum were being rendered useless as Time’s natural state was found as the root cause of the problem.

It was said that Darkness would blind the universe of all light and the continuum would know an end.

    Continumental Stories - Khorum Ahmed

    Introduction

For a long while I have been making notes and pondering about numerous things to write about. Mostly I would say that I was stuck on science-fiction, which would almost entirely be factual. Though I tend to lean on other genres like fantasy, the occasional thriller and some amount of horror, so far from Stephen King.

My first recollection of wanting to write was sometime at the age of fifteen, I vividly remember wanting to write about a teenager who was scouted by a secret organisation and later teamed up with an eccentric scientist. This idea was later scrapped.

I can’t tell you how many ideas I went through after that but it was a lot.

For the following years thereafter, I wrote a small amount, this included chapter titles, book names, main protagonists/antagonists with some dialogue, quotes and plot points, etc.

Over time the story progressed from a teenager, a secret organisation and a scientist to something that was more complex than I had first intended.

I then began creating Anselopha, a second-half to our world, one that held beings who possessed supernatural powers, a world that would be vastly different to ours, but just as remarkable. Together these two halves are called the Prime Worlds. Only in dire or exceptional circumstances are people (or beings) allowed to cross into the adjacent world, otherwise it is illegal. In different points of Earth and Anselopha you could find yourself in countless of other universes (known commonly as the Continuverse).

If I had to sum up the story, I would say that is was about a traveller who is prophesied to be the next Master of the Matter-Fabric, to be elected it is rumoured, on the eve of the collapse of reality.

At this stage I dreamt big. I wanted to do short stories, the Traveller’s series and a handful of standalone novels as I had more than one story to tell. This put me in a rut and could be one of the reasons why I have taken this long to have anything remotely close to a novel completed. The book you have in your hands now is my first real attempt in a finished product.

In recent years I have been trying to figure out whether I should jump into the deep end and commence the Traveller’s story. The problem with this is that I have no clear idea of what the story is about, what beings look like, what the history is, the culture, divides and coalition with Earth.

So I’ve put a pause on that for a time until I am better prepared and ready to pursue the story.

This got me thinking. How was I going to develop my universe and what would I do in the meantime? The obvious answer was to do short stories, which in itself was a start but in my mind it just wasn’t enough. What could I be writing to give reader’s a flavour of the story until I had a clearer idea for the Traveller’s era.

I came to the conclusion of doing an adventure series which would focus on one secluded, yet pivotal character who would go about saving time and space whilst the seat remained untaken.

Larson Green had been the guy to carry the story. This would give me the freedom to write freely about Anselopha, Earth and other dimensions within (and outside of) the universe. I would be able to write about some main, background or key characters from the Traveller’s era and introduce the elements of my own universe. Through this I imagine I would be able to perfect the universe in which I will share my stories to you, and as companions we (you the reader and I) shall be able to discover Anselopha in the wake of a Master-to-be as he takes the most popular seat in the universe.

One of the stories in this very book (The Broken Worlds), mentions a race of beings known as the Infinites who reside outside the universe in a Timeless Field, a point where Time does not exist. Distant from the universe the Infinites have lived centuries documenting its events, never once leaving their Realm. That is until a group of beings enter Serg’s tower unexpectedly and warn the Infinite that the universe is soon to come crashing down and even those in Timeless Fields would suffer, as no point in or out of the universe would be safe.

This is our beginning, the keystone to the stories that you are about to read.

Starting from this book I thought I would begin with some short stories that would focus on some main characters from novels that I am working on and introduce to you small episodes as a teaser.

Of the five stories, four are snippets from the Traveller’s era (The Khalazaran Prophecy, Ghezar’s Last, The Summoner’s Run & The Foretelling); one (The Broken Worlds) is a prelude to the Larson Green adventure series that, even as I type, is near the completion of the first draft. With Trensgar as an explanation of the Masters (Arcturus, Cygnus and Orion) who were the first and only ones to occupy the seat as custodians of the Matter-Fabric.

Trensgar is the Second Age on Anselopha. One sendium (year) equates to roughly two Earth years and a month, with eight montressens (months) or 754 days to a sendium – this is the Iliptian Calendar. I confess that I have a printed out version of nearly two centuries worth of dates covering the years from 1872 to 2045.

Each date is penciled in with dates from the Second Age, starting from when the Masters took the seat, after the trio won the first Serilion, up to three sendiums of the Third Age (Isilder). Filling in some 63,145 days took me close to a sendium to complete.

For now here is a glimpse of what is to come, it would be nice to hear from you, so send me a tweet @khorumahmed and if the message reaches me after it crosses through time and space I will get back to you.

    The Khalazaran Prophecy

Known as Dream Sellers, Whisperers of Days to Come, and Fortune Carriers; Khalazarans could sell you the secrets of things your heart desires to know most in the world. Secrets that speak of ancient truths. Secrets that could turn civilisations against each other in conflicts of belief, even ones that could ripple and change actualities.

If you decide to believe what people acknowledge as truth, then you should convince yourself that Khalazarans have been around longer than any who have ever lived. That they are able to remain invisible to all unless they want to be seen in the unlikeliest of places.

Few have been fortuitous enough in knowing where Khalazarans dwell, and even less find answers to yearning questions.

Mira had discovered Octavian’s sanctum, after proceeding through two separate dimensions and crossing through a gap which took three gruelling sendiums of her life. With every chance she took, somehow Mira found herself back to square one. The Khalazaran sitting before her was now Mira’s last hope.

Mira had to know the answer to an essential question. She walked gracefully across the cold marble floor; her cloak trailed behind her tired and bruised feet that were bare except for the anklets she wore. Black lace fingerless gloves ran all the way up to her elbows.

Octavian noticed the half mask first, resting comfortably on Mira’s nose, the eyeholes showed her bright green eyes. Her scarlet hair bounced as she made her way over to the Khalazaran.

‘I see it in your eyes,’ spoke Octavian. ‘The paths that you have taken are traced on the surface of your pupils, allowing me to see the numerous things that you have captured in sight. Your thoughts displayed in their true form. As of now, you are closing your mind so that I am unable to read you. How are you doing that? None have been able to do such a thing.’

    Mira’s mouth curled.

‘It is not your privilege to know what it is that burdens me, I have not come here to be Suppressed, I’ve come under the impression that you can provide me with what I require.’

    ‘What is it you
