About this ebook

What has he done? What's happening to him? And what on Earth is that smell? For Colin Strauss, puberty stinks. Blackouts, hallucinations, and lapses in memory are the perils of growing up werewolf. Worse than that, Colin worries he might have had something to do with the recent attacks on the townspeople. He may have eaten a person. It doesn't matter that it's someone he doesn't particularly like. What kind of boy goes around eating people? Foolishly, all Colin can think about is how Becca Emerson finally kissed him for the first time. Yep, hormones are afoot. Yikes! But girls will have to wait. Collin better get himself under control before someone else ends up hurt or worse . . . dead.

Noted: I'm an old adult reading a young adult novel. That being said, this was cute but I think I needed something a little darker. And I'm never a fan of when you can figure out who the bad guy is so early in the book way before the other main characters when it's so obvious (think werewolf smell). Still trying to wrap my head around why so many of those close to him couldn't pick up that Colin was a werewolf. Again, cute read though. Definitely written for it's target audience and could see it as a feature film for the masses.

Hair in All the Wrong Places by Andrew Buckley is an entertaining young adult book that puts an interesting spin on the coming-of-age teen experience. Colin's reactions to his peers and the adults in his life are believable even with the complication of his developing werewolf abilities. While I do agree with another reviewer that some of the twists were a little obvious, I think the story has enough intrigue to keep the reader interested until the end. A good light read for any age, I think young adults could really relate to the characters.
