    Chapter One

    Why Strawberries

There is a famous scene from a classic movie The Caine Mutiny where the captain of the ship (Bogart) goes mental over some missing strawberries.  Anyone who has a greedy sibling can totally relate to going down to the fridge in the middle of the night to finish off that last piece of cake or pie or Nestle’s crunch that you have cooling so it is perfectly crispy when you bite into it only to find that one of the other escapees from mom’s womb has beaten you to it.

The cake has been eaten and all that is left is crumbs as evidence of the crumb that ate it or worst if it was strawberries you will find the strawberries missing and the bowl still there in the fridge.

    The jerk left the bowl.

Who eats it all and leaves the bowl behind?

It should be legal in all fifty states to punch in the face whoever does this act of cruelty.

Sorry, I get carried away sometimes.  The point of this book is thirty great strawberry recipes in thirty
