About this ebook
It is clear that many of the things the author talks about in this book are things that most black people would be afraid to talk about in America. However, these are issues that all Americans must have an understanding of. There are many other books that talk about what racial relations in America are like today, but they do not reflect on the long history of racial relations in America. The author brings new insight into the way America was built. It is clear that America has tried to rewrite its history so that people are not aware of all the horrible acts that took place. From the time the author was a child, he asked himself many questions and he read many books to find answers to these questions because the people around him did not seem to have a clear understanding. This is a book that all American should read. Many white Americans clearly do not want to deal with or face these issues, but this is very necessary in creating a future America that consists of unity and equality. It is important that the author’s views on how to make a positive change are understood by American society.

About Summary Station
Chapter 1
The author begins the book by telling his son about a recent interview he participated in. He was asked to describe himself. He explained to the person that was interviewing him that his description was formed by the history of America. Many Americans view democracy somewhat as a religion. There are many Americans who view themselves as being white. These ideals have shaped the authors identity as a black man.
The author talks about the conditions that create a white person. In the early days of America, white people used to define themselves based on characteristics like religion and hair color, but now the author believes that being white has a different meaning. White people are people who have dominated black people in order to build the country of America. The author speaks of how many Americans are innocent when it comes to their knowledge of the horrible things that took place during the building of America.
Many examples where people of color have been shot or killed by the police for small reasons have been brought up. It appears that today the police have the authority to harm or kill people of color for little or no reason. Even when the police are held accountable for their unjustifiable crimes they are seldom punished. Once the author is done making his point about the racist state of America, he realized that the person interviewing him did not fully comprehend what he was trying to get across.
This interview took place the same week that the police officers who
