About this ebook

This book is a wonderful compilation of materials dealing with generational curses and we believe that it would be a wonderful asset for your library. It would also serve as a powerful guide and source for teaching on this subject. Most people believe that when they accepted Christ into their life that all curses against them were dealt with and broken. This is a correct statement, but let?s look at Joshua the successor of Moses. He was promised the land but he still had to go in and fight for it. This holds true for us today because the word in Matthew 11: 12 states that, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force. As we will find out from this study, there are actions that have been done by some people who have brought a curse against their bloodline. This must be dealt with before they can be completely free to fulfill the call of God on their life. Rev. Agbo demonstrates that he has devoted much study to this subject and wants only to present the truth. Most people shun this subject of generational curses and would rather not be exposed to it. We were touched and blessed by the powerful prayer at the end of the book and recommend this man of God to any church or organization to speak on this subject. Again, this book will compel you to live a holy life; totally dedicated to God. It deals with all areas of life.

Breaking Generational Curses - Gabriel Agbo

    you.

    Chapter One

    Idolatry/Occultism

One of the things that attract divine curses that will always run generational is idolatry. Idolatry is simply giving God’s place or worship to other things. It means leaving the creator to worship the created. This worship could be to Satan, spirits, demons, angels, humans, animals, etc. Or to their inanimate representation in rocks, stones woods, images, objects, etc. Any form of diversion of God’s place and worship to any created being or object is idolatry.

The only worship that God accepts is the one that is coming to Him through His only begotten son Jesus Christ. Anything short of this will definitely attract God’s punishment (curses). God hates idolatry with passion. No wonder He has always said that it is distasteful and abominable to Him. He calls it spiritual adultery, spiritual harlotry and union with demons. And the Bible has always identified Satan as the Devil; who is the head of all idolatry and occultism.

So, every time man goes into this, he is simply pushing God aside to worship Satan (one of God’s created beings).

Satan was one of the angelic beings in heaven, but was cast out because of disloyalty (treachery). He thought of overthrowing God his Creator. He courted God’s throne and worship and as a result, he was banished into everlasting condemnation. And up till today, that hunger to receive worship has not left him. This is exactly why he leads man into diverting God’s worship to things and objects; which he is always the remote and ultimate beneficiary.

The devil is crazy for worship. Imagine him suggesting that Jesus worship him, and he would give Jesus all the nations of the world and their glory. Imagine that! He is really mad for worship. God does not want to share his glory with anything and He made this very clear in the Ten Commandments that He handed over to Moses for the people of Israel. Let’s read Exodus 20:2-6,

I am the Lord your God, who rescued you from slavery in Egypt. Do not worship any other gods besides me. Do not make idols of any kind, whether in the shape of birds or animals or fish. You must never worship or bow down to them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not share your affection with any other god! I do not leave unpunished the sins of those who hate me, but I punish the children for the sins of their parents to the third and fourth generations. But I lavish my love on those who love me and obey my commands, even for a thousand generations.

Here, God was giving Israel what was going to be the basis for His relationship with them, and He deemed it most importantly to begin with the warning against worshiping any other thing. This clearly shows the place of worship in God’s heart and program. He wants them to know that there is no other God besides him. He wants them to know that He is a jealous God. He wants them not to make any kind of idol or bow down (worship) to anything or image of birds, animals or fish. These simply represent all creatures (physical and spiritual) in the air, on the land and in the Sea.

When people make images of these natural beings mentioned in verse four-birds, animals or fish, it is important for us to note that their worship go beyond these physical representation to the supernatural. They invoke and relate to the various spirits, demons, principalities, etc, that those creatures represent. For example, when we talk about birds, these represent powers of darkness, demons, fallen angels, etc, that operate in and from the air. The bible made it clear to us that there are powers in the air. Look at Ephesians 2:2,

"You used to live just like the rest of the world, full of sin, obeying Satan, the mighty prince of the power of the air…"

    Also see Jeremiah 7:18, 44:16-17

"No wonder I am so angry! Watch how the children gather wood and the fathers build sacrificial fires. See how the women kneed dough and make cakes to offer to the Queen of Heaven. And they give drink offerings to their other idol gods!"

"…We will not listen to your message from the LORD! We will do whatever we want. We will burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and sacrifice to her just as much as we like - just as we and our ancestors did before us, and as kings and princes have always done in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem."

From the above scriptures, we can see that there are demonic powers that inhabit the air. First, Satan himself was called the mighty prince of the power of the air. Then we saw also the demonic principality the bible called the Queen of Heaven. This is a terrible and very influential demonic spirit. It is worshipped as Sun, Moon, Stars, and Hosts of Heaven. And sometimes, it is also called by other names, e.g. Ashtaroth. It is a religious spirit.

This spirit is presently holding billions of people in false worship, in veiled worship of Satan in the name of serving God. In some cases, one would need the discernment of spirits to detect when it is at work. The Apostle Paul talked about the third heaven. That means there should also be a first and a second. Who inhabits these other heavens? Sure spirits!

Then, there are also demonic entities in the waters (seas, lakes, oceans, rivers). And there are more demonic powers in the waters than any other place. We have also discovered that most of these satanic powers have their source and link to the waters. Let’s read Isaiah 27:1,

"In that day the LORD will take his terrible, swift sword and punish Leviathan, the swiftly moving serpent, the coiling, writhing serpent, the dragon of the Sea."

Sure, the above Scripture is not just talking about a mere natural creature living in the water, but a demonic principality. Or how were the same words used for Satan also ascribed to this creature here: serpent, dragon? And what would be God’s business in taking time to punish this sea creature, if it is not a demonic adversary? This demonic entity is just one out of millions of demons, spirits, principalities, powers, and fallen angels that reside in the waters.

Now, the animals represent the powers on land. You don’t need to be told that there are demonic powers that reside in the rocks, forests, graves, mountains, in animals and even in humans.

The bible talked about the high places, groves, etc. Some of these spirits endlessly move back and forth on the face of the earth. Yet, others have been brought into people’s homes through satanic altars, objects, etc.

    Chapter Two

    Humans Worshipped as God

Today, human beings are also worshipped as God in different parts of the world. Some are worshipped as human/spirit beings, ascended masters, gurus, etc. I know one that sometimes claims to be God and at other times the Holy Spirit and his devotees worship him as such. This is an abomination and will not fail to attract a corresponding punishment from God.

The bible said that God created everything including humans and spirits. Therefore, no human or spirit (including Satan) deserves our worship. We should worship only God the maker and sustainer of all things. He is Jehovah; the God of Israel. Now, what we want to establish here is that, birds, animals and fish in Exodus 20:4 represent the demonic powers and principalities in the heavens, waters and on the land. And God says that we should not worship or bow down to them. Don’t serve them. Don’t even make any image of them; for He is a Jealous God that will not share His worship with any other thing. He wants us to worship Him directly through Jesus Christ. No more, no less.

God’s word tells us that anything outside this is idolatry and will not go unpunished. The punishment will be trans-generational. That is, the punishment shall not stop with the parents or the originators of such practice, but will be extended to their next generations of kin. He said,

I do not leave unpunished the sins of those who hate me, but I punish the children for the sins of their parents to the third and fourth generations. But I lavish my love on those who love me and obey my Commands, even for a thousand generations Verse 6.

Now, a further instruction to Israel against any form of contact with demonic spirits, false gods can also be found in Deuteronomy 18:9-14.

If you read these verses, they
