    This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Holiness are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
    In this book, we explore eight topics, from different verses in the books of Matthew, Mark and Luke. They are: The lips and the heart; Leaving the crowd; Fruit-bearing and the body; 3 kinds of satanic traps a believer should avoid; Confronted with God’s holiness; The power of repentance; Humility before exaltation; and Putting in all for God.
    Excerpts: 
    The lips and the heart
    “Jesus said that the one who hears his words and does them is the one who builds his house upon the rock and it will last, as it is founded on the rock of obedience to Jesus. It flows from him, manifesting his essence. Loving God is about living according to his word. It is about pleasing him.  (Colossians 1:9-10).”
    Leaving the crowd
    “He sought to thoroughly desensitised them to the praise/approval of men, they were meant to please God alone and not the crowd, they were not to be caged by human opinion.”
    Fruit-bearing and the body
    “The same with sowing to the spirit, it also involve what you do with the body. Paul said: I put my body under, so that after preaching to others I will not be disqualified for rewards (1Corinthians 9:27). He wants to use his body for the right things so that he will get the right result.”
    3 kinds of satanic traps a believer should avoid
    “In Christ the whole essence of spiritual discipline is to make us less and less susceptible to these traps, to re-prime our mind, to embrace the humility of Christ (Philippians 2:3-11), and His words (Colossians 3:16-17); to be able to live fully His life (Galatians 2:20).”
    Confronted with God’s holiness
    “In repentance we stop rejecting God and experience restoration; we sever our link with the first Adam and embrace the last (1Corinthians 15:45), in whom is victory.”
    The power of repentance

    Humility before exaltation
    “If you draw near God, drawing away from self and pride, he will draw near to you (James 4:8), and he would exalt you.”
    Putting in all for God
    “For the woman, God was her focus in giving, not what people were going to say, not the attempt to meet the need in the “church” but a response from a heart who is primed to give it all up for the master; a selfless heart that mirrors that of Christ himself.”
