About this ebook

This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of The Power of God are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore ten topics, from different verses in the book of Jeremiah. They are: The truth about God’s fury; Knowing God I & II; The days are coming; Glory and power: two sides of the presence of God; God is witness; A word from the Lord; Rescued by trust; The dynamics of spiritual warfare; and The work of the Lord in our spirit, soul and body.
Excerpts:
The truth about God’s fury
“The “debit” of death that we owe God because of our sin was paid by him so that our account will be credited with his righteousness (2Corinthians 5:21). He experienced our public disgrace so that we can have his public affirmation of God saying to us individually what he said about him: you are my beloved, in whom I am well pleased.”
Knowing God (I)
“Knowing God is not possible but by the blood of Jesus, because without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. When sin entered the earth that was when “death” entered, as a principle through which the devil exercise dominion on the earth. Because when there is no law there is no sin, by abolishing the law in his body on the cross (Ephesians 2:15-16), Jesus absolved his followers of any sin.”
Knowing God (II)
“From the focus verse those who know God would know that not only is God the manifestation of loving-kindness, justice and righteousness, but he expects the same from his people. Those who know him will represent who he is on the earth.”
The days are coming
“In that atmosphere of anticipation you have an inner posture to receive what God is releasing, it attracts (Matthew 5:6) whatever is released, as faith is born, which eventually leads us to the glorious days that are coming.”
Glory and power: two sides of the presence of God
“His has confused many people, who see the display of the supernatural in the life of those who are empty of the life of holiness. But reading the first letter of Paul to the Corinthian church, will clear things up. They lacked behind in no gift (1Corinthians 1:6-7), but fornication was rampant (1Corinthians 5:1). The miracles can blind the eyes from the need for introspection and caution and internal transformation. So we can have the power without the glory. We can also have the glory without the power; that is if we do not believe for miracles. Jesus was the personification of the glory of the glory of God, the fullness of the Godhead bodily. However, when he was in his home town he did not do many miracles because of unbelief, though he taught the people (Mark 6:1-6). We need a balance, because the kingdom of God is about his power and glory, not just power or just glory.”
God is witness
“Paul puts it this way: the days of ignorance God winks at but now calls everyone to repent (Acts 17:30). Peter said we need to repent so that times of refreshment will come from the presence of God. God now becomes our advocate (1John 2:1-2). We have an advocate with the father, Jesus Christ, who also stands before God interceding for us. Paul puts it this way: who will bring a charge against God’s elect, it is God who justifies, who gave his son to die for us to justify. God’s witness against us is torn away. The bible says to the cross is nailed the handwriting of requirement that are against us, which are reminders of our errors, inadequacies, and are records against us (Colossians 2:12-14). Believing in Jesus makes us to and we have passed from death to life.”
