I'm a native Arizonan and while growing up, I would often write down notes about stories germinating in my head. I was always interested in the fantasy genre, having been introduced to Anne McCaffrey's Riders of Pern book series (may she rest in peace) in elementary school. I devoured Piers Anthony, Raymond E. Feist, and later, Lord of the Rings. In trying my hand at mysteries, I've found they are fickle things, like a knot in yarn. Instead of cutting it, try to work it out and once unraveled, have a straight line of yarn again. I will some more books coming soon, so please enjoy the ones I have out now. Chapter 1

Matt Michaelson fingered the note, staring at it, the words in angelic script burned into his mind.

    Love, Lucifer.

He looked up as he heard a crash in the kitchen and Meredith Rogers swearing. He got up, placing the note on the table beside him and coming into the kitchen, seeing the glass peanut butter jar in pieces, peanut butter smeared on the tile floor.

    What happened?

I accidentally knocked it off with my arm. Meredith was furiously trying to put a sandwich together. Could you get her backpack and make sure she has her homework?

Sure. As he started to head up the stairs that were adjacent to the kitchen, he turned around when he heard her snap her fingers. The kitchen floor was perfectly clean, not a drop of peanut butter on the tile.

Matt shook his head. Ever since she had accepted what she was, her powers had increased. Perhaps it was she was more aware of them now, like cleaning up peanut butter with just a snap of her fingers. Paisley joked once that her new mother was like Mary Poppins, the mystical nanny.

Matt found Paisley in the bathroom, brushing her hair. She set it down as soon as she saw him. Daddy, I’m ready.

Okay, honey. Let’s get your backpack. Paisley ran into her room. Matt
