Your Personal Success Quotient - Terri Weston

    substance.

    chapter 1

I know you want to jump into discovering your Personal Numerology and Personal Success Quotient to gain insights into some of your burning questions. But first, I want to give you a very abbreviated history of the origins of Numerology.

Although you may be hearing of Numerology for the first time, it is an ancient and proven science. Traced back over 4,000 years, the origins of Numerology were found in ancient societies including the Romans, Greeks, and Chinese. However, it was Pythagoras, the Greek mathematician and creator of the Pythagorean Theorem, who became the founder of Western or Pythagorean Numerology back in the sixth century B.C. Even the great mathematical and philosophical minds of history, including Plato, found validity and value in the knowledge of the human condition revealed through one’s numbers.

Pythagoras’ principles of Numerology are based on the theory that everything has a vibration, especially human beings. He believed that all life has a code and system that could be defined through mathematics, namely - numbers. In fact, it was his study of astronomy and the movement of the planets that led to the first explanation of musical harmony. But back to Numerology.

As you may know, a vibration is a wavelength. And this wavelength can be represented by a number with its definable vibration. Thus, Pythagoras believed the qualities of a human being, as well as all matter, can be found in the vibrational wisdom or code of its numbers ranging from 1 through 9. This coincides with the 9 stages of human life (which you’ll learn more about in the subsequent chapters).

The theory behind Numerology is that the vibe of the heavens at the time of one’s birth has a direct impact on a person’s lifetime including the experiences and lessons shaping one’s life. And through specific calculations, you derive a vibrational code of numbers representing the essence of you. And at the risk of sounding a bit theoretical, this vibrational code can answer many questions of how in tune or harmonious we are in our surroundings, our careers or vocations, and our relationships.

This is why you find that you may naturally get along with some people, while others may rub you the wrong way. It’s not necessarily what the person says or does, rather it’s the person’s vibe that does not resonate with you. Conversely, you may feel an instant connection and kinship with others that energize you.

Now that you have a little background on Numerology, let’s dive into the basic of how Numerology works.

    chapter 2

Your Personal Success Quotient discusses Pythagorean Numerology, the Science of Numbers, developed by Pythagorus over 2,400 years ago. Although this may sound intimidating, discovering your Personal Numerology Profile or Personal Success Quotient is a matter of simple math.

This chapter introduces you to a general overview of your Core Numbers, as well as other key numbers, that make up Your Personal Numerology Profile and Success Quotient. You’ll learn the basic foundation for the calculations of these numbers (also referred to as vibrations and energies throughout this book) including the numeric vibrations assigned to each letter of the alphabet. You’ll learn tips on how to do the calculations so you don’t overlook Master Numbers referred to later in this chapter. And I will provide you with a general meaning of each number, as well as the concords or families of numbers and their significance.

So let’s begin by identifying what you need to get started.

    Items Needed

Before exploring your Personal Numerology, you need three bits of information: your date of birth, your official birth name, and the name you currently go by on a daily basis.

For our example in collecting and gathering the information needed. I chose Nancy Reagan, former First Lady of the United States. And you’ll see why I chose her very soon.

Your date of birth is the most important piece of information in deriving your Personal Numerology. After all, you can change the name you go by, but you cannot change your date of birth. You write your date of birth on every document from employment applications to membership forms, maintaining its energetic and Universal intention. Nancy’s date of birth is July 6, 1921. And in terms of Numerology, we write it 07/06/1921, with two digits for the month, two digits for the day, and four digits for the year.

Your official birth name is your first, middle, and last name as it appears on your birth certificate. For our example, Nancy’s official birth name is actually Anne Frances Robbins. As a small child, she went by the nickname Nancy. In 1929 when her mother (Edith) remarried, Nancy took the last name of her mother’s husband, Dr. Loyal Davis. But let’s not forget that the original and intentional vibration for Nancy is based on that which appears on her birth certificate: Anne Frances Robbins.

Your current name is the first and last name you go by on a daily basis. After all, we know people rarely go by their official birth name. They go by a nickname, a married name, or a professional name. In our example, Nancy’s current name is Nancy Reagan.

Before we move forward, I want to address some common queries when it comes to one’s official birth name:

Spelling Errors - Yes, to error is human. And sometimes there are clerical errors or misspellings of names on birth certificates. In Numerology, the rule of thumb is if the error was not officially corrected, then the misspelling is your official birth name.

Name Change Soon After Birth - Some parents within a few days of the birth of their child decide that the original name they had in mind doesn’t work for their newborn. If the name change is made official, meaning it was officially changed on the birth certificate within the first few days of the child’s birth, then the revised name is the official birth name.

Adoption - Although you may have officially changed your name, your original name at birth provides a more accurate Numerology reading. If you received your adopted name early on, you may not be aware of your original birth name. In this case, your Personal Numerology would be calculated from your adopted name.

More or Less than Three Names - In some cultures, parents assign their children more than three names to carry on the family history through generations. Again, the old guideline of how your name appears on your birth certificate is what you use. And for those given only a first and last name (with no middle name), you work with your first and last name. Again, it is how it appears on your birth certificate.

Note: Names given due to religious traditions that do not appear on the official birth certificate are simply viewed as additional energy.

Junior, Senior, or Number Suffixes - These are not included in your Numerology calculations. Although you may have the same name as another in your family, other vibrations associated with your date of birth (and sometimes current or nickname) will indicate your unique path with your unique blend of talents.

Married Name - Taking a spouse’s name in marriage is reflected in your current name.

    Your Numerology Profile

Think of your Personal Numerology Profile as your vibrational blueprint. And by knowing your blueprint, you can calibrate your personal GPS based on your talents, motivations, and destiny to create success and fulfillment as you travel along your life’s path.

Your Core Numerology is comprised of 6 numbers: three from your birth name and three from your date of birth. Each number has a positive and negative vibe. When you feel on, you project or live in the positive traits of your numbers. Conversely, when you are living in fear, anger, lack of faith, or disregard of your talents, you are experiencing the negative side of your vibrations.

The three core numbers derived from your date of birth are your:

    •  Life Path - Reveals your innate and many times hidden strengths, abilities, and talents, as these need to be activated for you to experience your full potential. It also uncovers the road or life path for you to travel to fulfill your purpose(s).

    •  Attitude - Reveals your general approach toward your day-today life, and provides others with an impression of what they believe that they are getting when it comes to you.

    •  Birth Day - Reveals important clues into the innate qualities and characteristics needed to assist you in fulfilling your purpose. Some believe your soul chooses your Birth Day number knowing this energy is needed to fulfill your particular destiny. Later, you will also learn impact of the Birth Day Number when examining your life cycles.

And the three core numbers derived from your official birth name are your:

    •  Soul - Reveals your deepest desires and innermost motivations.

    •  Personality - Acquaints you with the outer you, how you come across to others, how the world perceives you.

    •  Destiny - A blend of the inner and outer you - your Soul and Personality Numbers respectively - which reveals your purpose or calling in this lifetime. This innate and sometimes hidden desire provides insights into the whys of your actions and decisions, not necessarily outwardly apparent to others or even yourself.

In addition to your core numbers, your profile also consists of the secondary energy from your Power Number derived from your current name (the first and last name you go by on a daily basis). And your Personal Success Quotient would not be complete without what I like to refer to as your Storyboard Numbers, which provide the lessons and opportunities within specific cycles and periods of your life. And for those of you who would like to take this further, I will walk you through the steps for calculating your personal almanac for identifying your daily energies and optimal timing for routine task to important events

    Calculation

Pythagorus determined that each number in our date of birth and each letter in our birth name carries a specific energy or vibration ranging from 1 to 9. With a date of birth, the numeric relationship is straight forward. You write out your date of birth in a numeric format with a 2-digit month, 2-digit day, and 4-digit year.

Throughout this book, each chapter theme will include a celebrity or pubic figure as an example for demonstrating how calculations work. Earlier, I chose Nancy Reagan as our example. And for this section, I chose Michael Strahan, retired NFL Hall of Fame football player, sportscaster, and talk show host. Michael Anthony Strahan was born 11/21/1971. To calculate Michael’s Life Path, we simply add the individual digits in his date of birth:

    1 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 9 + 7 + 1 = 23

We continue to further add the digits until reduced to a single digit:

    2 + 3 = 5.

If, for example, Michael’s date of birth numbers reduced to an 11, 22, or 33, then these Master Numbers would not be further reduced. The number would be written as 11/2, 22/4, or 33/6, indicating the energy found in the higher number, as well as the lower vibration if the individual chooses to revert to the single digit energy. And you’ll learn more about Master Numbers throughout this book.

The second method is to sum up each portion of Michael’s date of birth and then add:

    Month: 1 + 1 = 2

    Day: 2 + 1 = 3

    Year: 1 + 9 + 7 + 1 = 18 → 1 + 8 = 9

    And add those values:

    2 + 3 + 9 = 14 → 1 + 4 = 5

Using two methods not only picks up on a possible Master Number undetected through just one method, but it also ensures your math is correct (for even non-Master Life Path Numbers).

A third method is to add each portion of the date of birth together and reduce:

    11 + 21 + 1971 = 2003... 2 + 3 = 5

We use the third method when determining whether a Life Path is a Master Number. For example, a Life Path of 2 or 4 could be a Master Number of 11/2 or 22/4 respectively. This third method can break the tie with 2 of 3 methods confirming whether the Life Path is (or is not) a Master Number.

Okay, so we see how Numerology works from the digits in your date of birth. However, how does this work with the letters in your name?

Well, each letter is assigned a specific numeric energy. You may want to bookmark this page for future reference.

Again, using the table above and our celebrity example, we can assign the numeric vibrations to each letter in Michael’s official birth name:

To calculate Michael’s Destiny Number, we add the numbers associated with each letter in his official birth name which totals 94.

    And because
