    Watershed Musings - David Smith

    For my family

    Dear Reader

This book is a collection of Poems and Song Lyrics I have written over the years. Also included is an allegory.

It is my sincere desire to share these writings, as they are mined from deep within me.

I understand that some readers will agree with my underlying beliefs, while others will not. I encourage those who do not agree to continue reading, as I am confident that all will find something that resonates.

I give you these pages from my heart to yours in the hopes that they will be treasured long after I am gone.

    Youth

    Love

    Marriage

    Family

    Innocence Song

I can still see the dawn

    Though time has moved along

Though fog may cloud the day

I can still see the rays

And hear the chirping birds of dawn

    Singing the Innocence Song

They sang the music of the young

    My day had just begun

My mind was open and new

I spread my wings and flew

    Off to places far away

    I always knew the way

I'd run and spin and twirl

And giggle and laugh at the world

Now when the fog rolls in thick

    I know I'll never forget

The wondrous dawn of my day

And the song the morning birds played

    There She Is… (Song Lyrics)

    There she is…

    The girl who understands me

    Talking so tenderly

    Can it actually be

    this girl's for me?

    There we are

    Walking hand in hand

    Making waves and making plans

    Together we'll make a stand,

    you better believe.

Cause this time I really found her

There's no doubt in my mind

It's plain for the whole world to see

    This girl's for me.

    There she is

    Walking down the aisle

    Glowing with a smile

We'll be together in a while

    ‘Cause she walking to me.

    There she is

    Telling me I do

And that she'll always be true

"’Cause you know I love you

    and you are for me."

    There we are

With gray hair on the porch

    Rocking back and forth

And everyone can see this lady's for me.

    Yeah, I’m glad I really
