About this ebook

There is a new breed of atheist which our educational system is pumping out like mad. These are militant atheists who have an agenda to eliminate Christianity from the face of the earth. Believers are in a war and we need powerful weapons to fight the good fight of faith. This book reveals not just the weakness of the atheists' arguments and the solid foundation on which the Christian stands, but does so with humor and warmth. Few books take the time to address the atheist's conscience. By way of a lively Q&A format, You Can Lead an Atheist gives empirical evidence for the existence of God. Not only that, this book shows the existence of God can be proven and anyone can do it!

I am a Christian and while it is my hope that atheists come to know Jesus, I'm not certain that reading the words of Ray Comfort is the path to take.I think the problem is that I just don't like his tone. I understand the book was taken from his blog but that doesn't excuse poor writing. Much of it seems sarcastic, and I imagine him saying these words with a big passive-aggressive smile on his face. His statements are too cheerfully black-and-white, which is an unwise method of discussing religion.I would much rather have read the answers to the atheists' questions from someone with more intelligence or with a more moderate, less heavy-handed approach. Billy Graham, Nicky Gumbel, C.S. Lewis, or even the Pastors at my church would have provided more meaningful answers, I suspect.

Full disclosure: I am an atheist. I purchased this book hoping for some insight into the arguments supporting religion or against atheism in order to better understand and respect viewpoints other than my own. Based on descriptions of this book, and the title itself, I expected to find those here. Far from it.Ray creates his own image of an atheist and their beliefs that is far from reality and proceed to tear down those false images. He provides no evidence for the existence of God beyond the bible itself, all of "creation", and the human conscience. None of these arguments have any meaning to the vast majority of people who don't already share Ray's beliefs.Throughout the book he simply insults atheists as being illogical and not nearly as intelligent as he claims they think they are, all the while he provides no logical or intelligent arguments supporting the claims. My low rating of this book is not because I disagree with his position, it is because of the flawed logic used throughout and the lack of evidence to support his claims. If you are a Christian looking for a book that will encourage you to feel secure in your beliefs, I think this book will accomplish that. If you are an atheist looking for a book to challenge your beliefs, keep looking, this is not the book for you.
