    ABOUT MATT & MONICA

    Matt Thom is one of Australia's leading health & fitness professionals. He has won 4 world fitness titles in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006 at the 50 year old World Fitness Federation Universe competition held in Europe. Matt completed these amazing feats AFTER being hit by a train in February 2001 and being told by doctors that he may never walk again.     With a Degree in Human Movement he has worked in the industry for the past 15 years as a personal trainer, corporate trainer, presenter, motivational speaker, educator and fitness consultant. He is co founder of Fitness Kick @ Flemington, Melbourne's first specialized fitness training centre and winner of Personal Training Business of the year in 2007, 2008 and 2009 at the Fitness Victoria Industry Awards.

    He has developed and trademarked over six effective fitness training programs and co-owns five businesses in the fitness industry. He has extensive martial arts experience and is the Victorian sensei for Australian Freestyle Kickboxing. He currently runs self defence programs in over 100 schools throughout the state of Victoria.

    INTRODUCTION

    WELCOME TO THE 84 DAY BODY CHALLENGE

    Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year but eventually it will

    subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever. That surrender,

    even the smallest act of giving up, stays with me.

    So when I feel like quitting, I ask myself which would I rather live with?

    The most crucial of all areas to master in your life is to become dedicated to a goal and stick 100% to the plan until it is finished. In particular to diet and exercise, many people get motivated to make a change, become educated in regards to their new health plan and start for a few days or even a few weeks and then stop. We have found that people's intentions are always good but the system they were on failed.

    We are here to help you keep on track with a proven 84 day system. If you follow the step by step process, you will succeed... guaranteed.

    We have goals and dreams we would like to achieve in our lives and as long as we are working on them, even if it is a little bit each day, the day will come when that goal is completed.

    The sub title of our book is the world's fittest couple. Do we believe that we are the fittest couple in the world? The answer is no, of course not, our ego's are definitely not that big. We are sure there is an ultra fit couple out there that climb mountains, swim up rivers, bench press trees and shot put boulders. We just happen to be the fittest couple on the world stage in our chosen sport, which just happens to be called Fitness.

    We believe this to be true in almost every sport. Are the champions the best at it? No, they are just the best doing it. Which says a lot about Action. You can not succeed in any sport if you do not compete. The same can be said about losing weight or increasing vitality. You will not see any change if you don't do it. Action is the key to any success, keep doing it until it is done. And when it is done, it is done! You must have daily Action by exercising, eating nutritious foods and having the right supplements.

    The first part of the body challenge is everything you need to do - step by step to get started. We allow 6 days for you to get prepared before the 84 day challenge begins. 6 days to tick off all the things you need to do.

    The most important part of the 84 day body challenge are the Checklists. By using the weekly checklists, you become accountable in all the areas of your life you need to improve on. We have found the checklists to be a critical component to prepare for every fitness competition we have entered and for every successful client we have trained. The checklists can be found at the back of this action manual.

    Our house in the lead up to a competition resembles a mad scientist's laboratory! We have affirmations, quotes, checklists, goals, rules, motivational posters, you name it, and it's up on a wall, door, mirror, fridge and even the ceiling of our bedroom. We do this so we are surrounded and immersed by our ultimate goals, and guess what? It works every time. So don't worry if your house starts looking like a grand final locker room, it will only ensure your success and keep you on track.

    The only way you will not achieve results on this challenge is if you give up. Give up and you have given up on yourself. Keep going on the weekly checklists and the Action Manual will never give up on you.
