My Life / His Way - Gloria Florette Vogel
All!!!
IN MEMORY OF
Mary Parziale Fabiano
Born in Brooklyn, New York
December 29, 1929 - June 15, 2011
Mary came into my life in the late 1980’s through a co-worker and Christian friend, Debbie Schweffler, when I was working at AT&T in White Plains, New York. Debbie told me her Aunt Mary was an Evangelist and also a Prophetess and asked me if I would be interested in going to a meeting that was going to be held at her mother’s house, Gretta Perrotta. When I first met Mary I saw an outgoing happy woman who loved people. She was probably five feet tall but oh so mighty with the Word of God in her spirit. She looked at me and said Blessings, so many blessings coming your way.
Having great knowledge of God truly helped to change my life; understanding about God’s grace and mercy plus so much more that you will read in the following pages. From that day when I first met Mary, I would not miss a meeting as she gave me so much encouragement and support. Her faith never staggered. Our thinking was so similar which gave us a spiritual connection. When I moved to Florida we would talk on the phone and she would give me messages from the Lord that helped me so much when I was going through some very tough health problems.
I still can hear her hearty laugh. She was such a delightful person and her sense of humor will remain in my heart forever. You are so missed Mary by all who have had the honor of knowing you here on earth. I know in my heart you are now in a most beautiful heavenly mansion and also those around you are enjoying your wonderful free spirit. I am so grateful that our heavenly Father put you in my life and I appreciate and thank you for all your prayers and teachings which became a great part of helping me become the woman of God that I am. I am so looking forward to the day when we meet again.
Chapter 1
MY FIRST DREAM
(Sometime in 1972)
I woke up one morning remembering this dream. It was so clear and vivid in my mind. My three children and I were driving down the road in a station wagon. They were all sitting in the very back of the car where the storage area is next to the door. All of a sudden, the back door opened up and the dream ended. I never thought any more of it as I had a two door black and white convertible. As you read on, this dream became a warning which saved my children’s lives.
I was moving from my mother’s home into a new home with my second husband and three children. My sister asked me if I would like to borrow her car which was a station wagon as it could carry the small things that you want to be careful with. That was a great idea, so we traded cars for a few days.
The kids and I were going to the store and also bringing some things over to the new home. I said to my children, Let’s get into the car and bring this stuff over to the new house.
Cheryl, Linda and Frankie all jumped into the car and as I got behind the wheel and looked in the rear view mirror, I saw them sitting in the back of the car next to the door. All of a sudden the dream came to my mind. It became so dominant within my spirit. I then realized how that dream was a warning of protection.
I said to my children, Don’t sit back there, please come and sit in the seat behind me.
Going to church that week, I met up with this woman Patty. While talking, the subject of strange things going on in our lives came up that we could not understand. She too was having dreams coming true. We looked at each other and said, What do you think is going on?
Neither one of us had ever heard of anyone else having these phenomenon’s. It would take a few years down the road for me to learn that dreams (night visions) are one of many ways the Lord speaks to us. The Word of the Lord tells us in Proverbs 13:19 It is pleasant to see dreams come true, but fools refuse to turn from evil to attain them.
Chapter 2
MY SECOND DREAM
(Sometime in the early 1970’s)
Waking up this one particular morning, I had a dream about my grandfather, better known as Grampa. There was a great bond between Grampa and myself; he was my father image. Grampa and I would talk, work together doing chores inside and outside of the house and tease and have fun with each other. He had a severe case of rheumatoid arthritis so as a young person growing up; I would do little errands for him. When he would come downstairs for breakfast, I would get his cereal, coffee, etc. for him. If I was home, I was his hands and feet to help him get what was needed. I remember when I was trying out for cheerleading and my body hurt so badly from the different movements I was practicing, I would say to him, Grampa I am so sore.
His reply was, I know Honky,
his pet name for me, just how you feel.
He was in constant agony and never complained. He was an amazing man and everyone adored him.
Now, let me get back to the background of this dream. Grampa was visiting his son, my Uncle Al who was in the Army and stationed in Germany. This was a wonderful time for Grandpa as he was born in Germany and still had relatives living in that country.
It was sometime before the middle seventies when I awoke from a dream that Grampa was very sick and was coming back home. He needed to see a doctor here in the United States.
I do not remember how long afterwards that my mother received a letter from my uncle stating that he was sick. He had lung cancer.
Here again, I hadn’t learned about Proverbs 13:19, the same verse as in My First Dream. I believe this dream was to prepare me emotionally for the time when my Grampa was going home to be with the Lord in 1972. Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory: and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces.
Chapter 3
MY THIRD DREAM
(Sometime in 1991)
The beginning of 1991 had a dream that my Uncle Al was very sick and dying. I prayed and bound satan and all his evil spirits. Three to four months later, my sister called and told me that Uncle Al had prostate cancer. I started praying for a healing. When Uncle Al went into the hospital to be operated on, he was told that it was confined to the prostate area. That was great news and the operation should not be too complicated. After the operation, he was told that the cancer had leaked out of that area.
The doctors told him that in six weeks they would take blood tests to see what they would do next. Glory to God, the blood tests came back negative. In the meantime, God spoke to me and told me to call my uncle and tell him to go to church that Sunday with his wife and thank him for the healing.
I called my uncle and said to him, will you do me a favor?
He said, Yes.
I said, This is a really huge favor.
Again my uncle replied, Yes.
He was not a church person unless it was for a wedding, funeral or baptismal event. I told him what the Lord had spoken to me and his reply was that he would go to church that Sunday.
As time went by, his PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen Blood Test) went up and he started to take medication to bring it down. He had hot flashes from the medications and I mentioned to him that he did not have to take that medication as when God heals, it is a done deal. He is not an Indian giver according to James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
To this day, that cancer has not returned and he has been cancer free for over twenty years. My uncle, at the time of this writing is still alive and is going on ninety-four. Jeremiah 17:14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.
Chapter 4
MY FIRST MIRACLE
My daughter Linda’s first appointment to see the doctor after she was born took the very breath out of me. Dr. Galen, our family physician, told me that he thought she might have a Venus Heart Murmur. I was so stricken with fright and blamed myself for this because I was upset that she was not a boy. Amazing when you do not know the word of God how your mind will travel to the dark side. Psalm 18:28 For thou will light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. I asked the doctor what needs to be done. He gave me two choices; one to take her to a heart specialist or the second would be to bring her to Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH). When I asked him which one would be the best way to go, his answer was YNHH. Linda was only a month old when I brought her to this hospital. They were extremely thorough; two doctors examined her separately. After both of their examinations, they came to me with this. The valve that closes to the heart to allow air into her lungs when she first cried after birth, never closed. What at first was a heart murmur turned out to be a hole in her heart.
For the next six years, I took her to the YNHH twice a year for check ups. I watched the little children in this section of the hospital that had this same problem; some had skin with a bluish tint of color caused by lack of oxygen in their bodies and some were very frail and sickly looking. Linda looked so healthy that you would not think anything was wrong with her. When she became tired during the day, she automatically would lay down on the couch and rest. I had to be very careful of her catching any kind of illnesses and infections especially in the respiratory area. It meant a very quick trip to the doctor’s office. Her next appointment would be six months later.
After her six month check-up at six years of age, I was told that she would only need to come back once a year to be seen. When the thirteenth year arrived, Linda was examined as usual by two separate doctors. After that the doctors told me they wanted two other doctors to see her. I became quite concerned as to what was going on. All these years only two doctors and now there are four who want to check her out, what is this all about? Finally they all came together and called me into the room to give me this most wonderful news a mother could hear. The hole in Linda’s heart had closed up!
I could see on their faces that they were in shock; maybe stunned would sum it up. I believe they never had seen anything like this happen in this infamous hospital. I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. She is completely healed. This is truly a miracle. God healed her according to his word in 1Peter 2:24 He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.
My daughter’s healing came within less than a year after I became Born Again and took Jesus as my Lord and Savior. What an awesome God we serve.
Glory and honor to the Great I Am! Amen.
Chapter 5
MY SECOND MIRACLE
On October 2, 1985 was a very busy day and night for me. It started out to be a hopeful day as I left early in the morning from Connecticut to go to White Plains, New York for an interview for a secretarial job within AT&T where I was working. I went to bed around 11:30pm and was having a difficult time falling asleep. Frankie, my son, was not home yet. Finally at 1:12am I heard a car coming down the driveway. I thought it was him but instead I heard a knock at the door and it was the police informing me that my son was in an automobile accident. I asked if he was alright and they told me they did not know and I would have to call the Woodbridge Police Department (WPD) to find out. They asked me if I wanted them to take me to the hospital and I said, No, I would go myself.
I called the WPD to see if he was alive and they said, Yes.
I woke up Cheryl and we drove like maniacs to Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) where the ambulance had brought him. When we arrived, we were told he was having a cat scan and was in a coma. I asked Cheryl to call her father as he should be informed on what was happening. He did come, stayed for maybe ten minutes and left without even speaking to me. Cheryl had seen the gurney Frankie was brought in on and told me not to go as it was not a pretty sight. It was covered with blood.
When the doctor came to speak to me, he told me Frankie had very serious head injuries and if he maked it through the coma he would be a vegetable, that is, if he lived. Hearing those words I thought the inside of my body was going to explode. I hurt so bad and just wanted to scream and run. My mind went wild with fright. The enemy was doing his best to take over my soul, spirit and mind. Well this mother was not taking a doctor’s word or let the enemy take over as I already have the word of the Lord that tells me in Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. I was praying from 1:30am until 7:00am. Finally, I asked the Lord,
