      After a mostly silent ride that lasted all day, Tabby, Derrick, and the other members of his gang, who she’d given nicknames, arrived at the Gasket headquarters. Or what Tabby assumed were the headquarters. Feces Hands and his equally disgusting partner, whom she had dubbed Ringworm, reached for her when the van pulled to a stop.

      Tabby jerked away from them. I know how to get out of a van, Feces Hands. Don’t touch me.

      The man growled, Feisty little witch, aren’t you? We’ll teach you some manners once we’re inside.

      Tabby glared at him, refusing to show him the absolute fear that settled in the pit of her stomach at his threat. Her mind had been occupied on Rick and how long it would take him to get to her; she hadn’t even considered what these men, these criminals, several of whom had been behind bars, might do to her. Rather than show this idiot how afraid she felt, she rolled her eyes.

      Whatever, Feces.

      Derrick laughed. His name is Mick.

      I prefer to call him Feces. He smells like poop, not like Irish whiskey, Tabby snarled at Derrick. And he has no right to threaten me.

      Mick grabbed her arm and jerked her around to face him. You are at are mercy, darlin’. I’ll do as I please to you.

      Again, Tabby jerked her arm out of his grasp and cursed at him. He laughed and looked at Derrick. Man, you should let Rick keep her. She’ll make a good old lady.

      Old lady? Tabby asked, affronted.

      That’s what us bikers call our wives, Derrick explained as if teaching her the old ways of
